lol so now they are all at it. how pathetic.

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome.

At least, they seems to have received the go ahead from the estate...because they are using Michael Jackson in the title, and his picture is all over the website...unlike that "fanvention".
I hope it is done very professionnally and with good taste...for Michael.

Scratch that...I just noticed Brian Oxman is involved. No way would the estate want to deal with that imposter.

The estate ain't involved, they are using it because they feel they are entitled too, they think they own that brand. Kinda similar to what Jermaine thinks..
It's going to be a hell of a mess like always, and I'm looking forward to it :d

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome.

I always believed Marlon was closer to Michael then Jermaine . Jermaine i feel was using Michael even in death.

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome.

Marlon is gonna get an award(Legend Music Award) on behalf of his brother in Milan the 18th,the 19th press conference with LOL Brian Oxman and spokesperson Kathrin Milofsky(???) who will speak on behalf of the Jackson family......mmm ok.

I always said that Oxman is there for a reason, he ain't just the mouth piece of Joe/Randy and 'Toya as people have assumed, he's being backed by a lot more family members, but in private. A lot of them want to remain anonymous while backing Oxman, just like they wanna remain anonymous while auctioning off Michael's stuff.

He's like a bad smell that won't go away right? For us anyway. Why do you think they wanna remain anonymous? Brief off topic moment, I'm just interested lol.

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome.

also Travis Payne will join oxman and miss Milofsky and all the others performers in videoconference.
btw was Travis a co-producer for TII??

Of course I don't know for sure but I can only assume that it's got to the with Oxman's rather infamous reputation within the MJ fan community. All of us (at least the sane ones lol) know what time it is, when we hear the name ''Brian Oxman'', guess those ppl backing him in private don't want to loose fan ''support.'' They wanna save face in front of the public/us that would be my guess. Idk.

I highly doubt Payne is even aware of who the heck Oxman is supposed to be tbh

Please please please...don't let the press & public drag Michael's name in mud because of his family's failures.

Branca & McClain should send them a cease & decease...Snap.

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome.

All this is so confusing.

You can say that again!

What I care about, is that anything being done in Michael's name is done with class and taste! no half ass tribute will work for me.

BTW.....wonder what Jermaine thinks about this.....he can't be happy.

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome.

All this is so confusing.

ikr awards that don't exist,a lawyer representing the "jackson family" talking...spokesperson nobody knows who's speaking for,a 80.000 capacity stadium to fill...
....if the estate organizes something official ppl won't attend because an already big event has been done, and if it's disappointing even less.
I remember when Mercury died, they waited a year and a half before doing something and got so many big names and friends and prob the best bands at the time to perform at the 92 tribute and everything was given to charities and aids research...
After jermaine fiascos ppl is gonna be weary about those tributes anyway.

The Freddie tribute was done in April '92, just 5 MONTHS after he died - just shows what can be achieved if the RIGHT people are involved.

I remember that concert so vividly, it was amazing, and yeah, they had some great bands and collaborations...something on that sort of scale and of that quality is what I was hoping for as a tribute to Michael. I'm very sceptical about anything the family might try to organise.

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome.

There needs to be one big tribute only. Not every single family member trying to do one for themselves. Its to honour Michael and they should be working together to do it, not doing their own ones. More money for charity will be raised if there was one and bigger acts will attend. Michael does not deserve a half arsed tribute show.

yes i meant half of a year after not a year and a half!fans espected it even sooner than that but it was really impossible.I still have the tapes from the making of specials somewhere.Even if i didn't like some aspects of that show(well you can't satisfy everybody) it's still an amazing tribute, probably "the tribute",one of the most iconic tributes to a star.It really was the final goodbye.
I think it's almost impossible not to gather the best of the best in terms of fellow artists from the past and the present for MJ and do something ppl will remember in 20 years from now...but as you say ppl in general are very sceptical of everything organised by the family.

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome.

why does it have to be pathetic, i would love to see a tribute, ??????

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome.

I don't think Marlon is a bad guy.

Interesting how Travis and the TII dancers will be performing at the Italy one and not the 'original' Vienna/London one.

Sooo.. I wonder what Jermaine feels about this?

It says there in the OP that this won't be a concert?.. but then it seems to describe a concert?

Confused.

exactly that's what I would like just one big tribute as a family and I thought Jermaine was kinda of wrong on the show when he was kinda of telling his brothers do their own thing , that was his tribute imo Jermaine was totaly defeatting in gving a tribute in the first place imo so I he really can't be too mad a Marlon for putting together a tribute . anyway I wish Marlon luch and I just hope he's doing it from the right reasons.

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome.

OXMAN JUST SAID TITO, MARLON, 3T AND AKON WILL BE AT ROME TRIBUTE!! Well unless Tito can cut himself in half:

TITO JACKSON TO PRESENT ‘TRIBUTE TO THE JACKSON FAMILY’ PERFORMANCE AT THE 14TH ANNUAL ST. KITTS MUSIC FESTIVAL

** Jackson to Headline Friday, June 25 Line-up of Performers **

Basseterre, St. Kitts (May 4, 2010) – The St. Kitts Tourism Authority today announces that Jackson 5 Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson has joined the line-up of performers for the 14th Annual St Kitts Music Festival, which will take place on island from June 24-26, 2010. His concert “Tito Jackson in Tribute to the Jackson Family" to be held on the 1st anniversary of his brother Michael’s passing, will include not only his solo repertoire, but selections from the entire Jackson's catalog, including some of his late brother Michael's songs, and sister Janet Jackson’s music as well.
"I am so looking forward to visiting the beautiful island of St. Kitts and playing in the upcoming Music Festival in June. I have heard so much about the island, and I have lots of surprises in store for the audience,” stated Tito Jackson. “They are going to hear a great retrospective of Jackson family songs, from Janet, Michael, The Jackson Five, and some of my songs. It will be a great show and will bring back lots of memories and create some new ones, I am sure. It is a show I have been working on really hard with the band I have on the road with me now, and I am sure the crowd will love all of the music we have in store for them."
Born Toriano Adaryll Jackson, “Tito” has devoted his entire professional life to music, first as a member of Motown’s greatest discovery, The Jacksons (Jackson 5), and presently as a multi-faceted solo artist. During the course of his distinguished musical career, he has performed on stages throughout the world, including Manhattan’s famous Apollo Theater. He has had numerous television appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show, American Bandstand, Soul Train and on the Jacksons’ own primetime television series in 1976. In 1978, Tito co-wrote the songs, Everybody, Destiny and Push Away on the group’s hit album, Destiny. Their subsequent album, Triumph, sold approximately 10 million copies worldwide, and in 1984 the group released the Victory album, for which the famous Victory Tour reportedly set a new record for the then-largest grossing tour. In 1985, Tito, along with other members of the Jackson family, lent his vocals to USA for Africa’s fund-raising hit single, We Are the World.
“It’s an honor to have Tito Jackson join the line-up for this year’s St. Kitts Music Festival,” commented Senator Ricky Skerritt, Minister of Tourism & International Transport for St. Kitts. “Tito’s tribute concert to the Jackson family music legacy is certain to be memorable for the many Jackson family fans in St. Kitts and the wider Caribbean who will be given a wonderful opportunity to experience this special world-class performance first-hand, while enjoying the unique St. Kitts Musical Festival experience.”
One of the performing highlights of the career of Tito Jackson is the reunion performance on one of histories most watched television specials, Motown 25. The show signaled a pivotal point in his remarkable career and an auspicious focus on the great one  Michael Jackson. In 1997, Tito and his brothers (The Jacksons) were inducted into the prestigious Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Tito’s initial success with the recording masterpieces I Want You Back, Never Can Say Goodbye, I’ll Be There (best selling single in Motown’s history), and other mega-hits, are deeply woven into the world’s fabric of music. Throughout his career, Tito has worked with countless musicians, singers, and producers, such as the preeminent production team of LA Reid & Kenny “Baby Face” Edmonds and is in the process of completing his new project set for a 2010 release.
Now in its 14th consecutive year, the festival attracts both residents and visitors alike and is known for featuring rising local talent alongside internationally-renowned acts. It features a mix of musical styles on the popular market, including R&B, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Soca, Calypso, Gospel and Contemporary, to name a few. Past artists have included such prominent acts as John Legend, T-Pain, Michael Bolton, KC & the Sunshine Band, Wyclef Jean, Ne-Yo, Air Supply, Dionne Warwick, Billy Ocean, Sean Paul, Boyz II Men, King Konris, Stephen Marley, Regina Belle, Maxi Priest, Biggie Irie and Lord Nelson. Performers previously announced in this year’s line-up include Infamous, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and Ky-mani Marley. Tickets to the 14th Annual St. Kitts Music Festival are US $40 per person, per night.
Located in the northern Leeward Islands of the Caribbean, St. Kitts offers a diverse tourism product developed from the destination’s natural beauty, cultural heritage and rich history. The island’s stunning variety of tourism attractions include hiking through the tropical rainforest, riding the scenic railway that connects the island’s sugar plantations, visiting the Caribelle Batik factory, touring Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, the only man-made UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Eastern Caribbean, and the more traditional vacation pastimes such as watersports, golf, shopping, tennis, gourmet dining, gaming at one of St. Kitts’ two casinos or simply relaxing on one of the island’s sandy beaches.
