Many of you have asked about my book's timing in light of my comments about the tribute concert, so let me explain.

When I first signed the book deal, the agreed publication date was October 13. When the courts moved the trial date from June to September, that meant the book would come out in the middle of those proceedings -- an outcome I couldn't allow.

Once I explained this to the UK & US publishers, they both understood and acted swiftly, going to great lengths to rearrange their 'locked in' schedules.

I was offered two alternative publication dates: first week November or second week September. To avoid a potential clash with any jury deliberations/verdict in the November, I agreed September 13 because it's BEFORE the trial's start on September 20.

Where my publishers listened and acted to avoid conflict with the trial, Global Live, the promoters behind the tribute concert, heard my same concerns and stuck to their October 8th concert date. There is the difference.

I will not be promoting the book or doing any book signings after September 20 and until the trial has ended.

Hmm, leaving room for editing the book with trial tidbits? I shouldn't be so cynical where Jermaine, etc. is concerned, but I can't help it.

How could he add trial tid bits when the book is released on Sept 13th before the trial
He is just saying out of respect he wont be promoting it during the trial

But im sure he will be promoting it up untill the actual trial starts and I have no probs with that
my main concern is how much of his book will be factual and how much based on the so called
research he did which I fear will be based on tainted articles and fan rumurs much like Latoya's
I really hope he proves us wrong ..

Books can and have been revised after their initial release date, adding on a little extra as a repackaging tool to sell even more books on the second wave and/or in time for a full fledged book tour.

I believe Jermaine about the timing. Obviously there will be the usual people who don't but you can't please everyone. I'm just worried about what Jermaine writes in this book, not the release date or when he promotes it.

Well, if we have doubts, we can always cross check his stories with Moonwalk, like with the "how I saved Michael's life" fairy tale.

Well if he writes about Life with Michael, it would be very stupid of him to write what people tell him like Latoya did. How is that going to be about "life with Michael." More like fans life with Michael. I wonder how many made up stories will be in the book about him saving Michael, inspiring Michael's dress or dance moves, etc.

Michael did say he looked up to Jermaine when they were younger, so he should have some good stories about their youth, but after he married and left the Jacksons, there is not much he can say. I guess he will embellish anyway. Remember Jermaine was the one many girls loved when they were younger and it seems to me that even today he still thinks that he STILL GOT IT.

I like Jermaine as an artist, and unlike LaToya, he did actually work alongside Michael for a very decent portion of his own career, from '64 to '75 and then again for Motown 25, Tell Me I'm Not Dreamin' and the Victory album and tour, so I might actually take a look at this book and see what the reviews are like, what people mention on message boards about it and so on.

It would be interesting if he mentions much about his solo career, and it'll be interesting to see all of the little anecdotes that he shares, as well as how he treats controversial stuff like his supposed jealousy of MJ and the Word To The Badd!! episode.

Moonwalk isn't exactly a revelatory autobiography as far as revealing the deepest parts of the subject's psyche is concerned, but it was definitely interesting as an account to 'read between the lines' of. I'd imagine that Jermaine's book will be very similar... lots of bland taking-the-high-ground stuff, but maybe also some fascinating clues of his possible areas of conflict and disagreement with Mike and the other brothers at key moments.

I was willing to give this book a chance but, when he over exaggerated the whole incident that happen when MJ got sick in his house, it Just messed it all up for me. If he can't get that info straight and didn't even notice that MJ himself wrote about it on MoonWalker and the story MJ told is VERY different from what he says then, I can just imagine the rest of the things Jermaine will say in his book just to make it juicy! And I say to that, no thank u sir.

^^Yes, he lied about an incident involving Michael, so what in the book can we safely say is true. That is the problem once you compromise truth. I think he might write a fluffy book with tall tales. Well soon those who buy it will be talking abut it and we will find out. Ivy might read it and make a summary.
