She most certainly will be. She will play the Credicard Hall on December 9th, the hall has a capacity of 8,000 people. This technically marks Janet's largest tour in terms of areas covered as once completed it will have visited all continents, which she has never done on her previous tours, as she has never visited South America.

Yes. BUT Janet has no millions of fans in Brazil :unsure: and probably, so it will be only one concert. And believe me, most who will be there to watch this concert will be Michael's fans, because, obviously, she is Michael's sister and also why they want to see her perform of Scream. :smilerolleyes: Another part will be people who know one or another song of Janet :fear: and the rest will be the curious people to see Janet it is as good as his brother. :eek: :doh: And I can already imagine what will be the Brazilian press comments about this concert... :fear:

From what I've heard Janet was once very popular in Brazil, I've heard before she has sold a great amount of her albums there in the past. While MJ fans may attend the concert, I'm sure she has her own fans attending. The demand must have been there, hense the reason her being there, remember the fans chose where she would be touring, so if she's in Brazil it's because people voted for it :) and like strawberry said there must be interest in the show as she's been trending on twitter there when the show was announced :) I'm sure the show will go down great as the rest of the tour has :flowers:
 
I'm really starting to think that I'm not going to get the 20 under 20 thing for her Sydney show. :( The date is next week, plus if I do find out before then I'm probably not going to have the money to fly to Sydney. Darn it, I wish I had found out about the Melbourne dates before I was nominated for Sydney!
 
kindofdisco, you could have nominated yourself for both you know, there is nothing that states you can't and people have done it before, and with the 20 under 20, it's hard to know whether or not you've been picked until a few days prior to the show so all hope is not lost yet :)
 
^ The only show Janet is doing the 20 under 20 thing is for Sydney, the other cities aren't doing it at all. I just got confirmation on that from her Australian fanclub. :( I'm sorry, I was just having a bit of a sad moment about everything last night when I posted that, haha! I think I'll keep my head up and fingers crossed. :)
 
Oh I didn't know she was only doing it in Sydney, I dont see why she isn't doing it in all of the cities though its unfair to not give every city the 20 under 20 but it is what it is. I hope you get it though :flowers:

Yeah I think it's a bit unfair, considering she did a show in Perth which is all the way on the other side of Australia! So anybody that wanted to nominate, that's a bit a plane ride for them to Sydney.

Well we'll have to see when the video's from the show come along she's popular there or not. But like I said, her even coming to Brazil must indicate that there is demand there as she is touring where the FANS voted for her to go, so if like you said people are only interested to see her to see her perform scream there wouldn't be a show in the first place, and again if there was no buzz for her coming she wouldn't have been trending in Brazil when the show was announce....

Anyway Janet has arrived back in Australia today to resume the tour tomorrow in Gold Coast at the Gold Coast Convention Centre on Wednesday and then the 3 rescheduled Melbourne shows on the Thursday.

And the concert was canceled here in Brazil. :lol: :doh: The Brazilian fans of Janet are devastated. :smilerolleyes: They (Brazilian sites) say it was canceled because Janet will make a movie. (????) Anyway, I had a feeling it would be canceled. :fear:

It HAS NOT been cancelled at all, it has been postponed for the moment. It was never officially announced by Janet's team anyway, just the press.

I live in Brazil and the concert had been confirmed and it was reported in many Brazilian sites. But it has now been canceled and a team statement from Janet on the cancellation was posted on a Brazilian site. Well, if it's real or not, I do not know. But who cares? But this is not something so important to worry about. -_-

You may live in Brazil, but the Brazil show was announced by Time for Fun - a very popular promoter in South America (promoters of Madonna's concerts in Brazil among others) they also announced the postponement of the show due to Janet doing a movie, they mentioned a postponement not a cancellation.

Well, canceled or postponed... who cares? :doh: This is not the end of the world and move on. At this moment the trial of Murray is much more important than the Janet tour. -_-

I agree the trial is much more important! But this thread has nothing to do with the trial, it's about Janet's tour, and if you don't care about the tour please don't feel the need to come and discuss it then.
 
not the end of the world but there is a huge difference between saying something is cancelled or postoned and chances are since it was never offcially announced by Janet yet, she was probably still finanlizing a date. with promoters

Glad you had a great time would love to see videos pop up sooner or later I can't find any yet.

Is it true Janet did All For You as the last song? I've heard she stopped the band playing and said she wanted to one more song, I'm guessing if true All For You wasn't in it's usual place in the setlist.

Yes she did 'all for you' last after 'together again'. She stopped the band and said she wanted to do one more song. She also did not do 'Run away' like she did in Perth.

I got pretty good close up video footage of her for most of the concert. i'll have to upload when i get the chance...
 
That's great and yes please do! Janet has made quite a lot of changes to the tour compared to her previous tours, like MJ she doesn't make a lot of changes to her tours usually.

Janet's rescheduled show for the three shows in Melbourne has taken place a few hours ago, again All For You closed the show from what I've heard. Now there's just the 3 nights at the iconic Sydney Opera House before Janet is in South Africa, Janet will be arriving in Sydney in the morning in Austalia, 11am to be exact, fans have found Janet's flight information so they maybe there to greet her, if they are correct of course.

Finally the Brazil show and it's announcement has now been officially postponed, not cancelled as previously stated by some news outlets apparently.


In a very brief statement on her website she both announced and postponed the Brazil show, while also confirming she'll be filming a movie.

Janet Jackson and TIME FOR FUN have agreed to postpone the show that would have happened at Credicard Hall, Dec 9th, to a mutually agreeable time.

The decision was made due to a film role that conflicts with her touring schedule.

Janet Jackson regrets disappointing her Brazilian fans and looks forward to performing in Brazil in a near future.

to be fair she was present when the defense's addiction expert talked as well, that's when the entire family (randy, Janet, Rebbie) supposedly nodded when Waldman talked about addicts and their behavior.
 
It's not Janets fault that the trial was postponed and then lasted longer than it should. Entertainers schedules are made months in advance and its hard to just back out of commitments after you have signed contracts and such. She had from the end of April through all of May off then they decided they were gonna postpone the trial. By that time I'm sure she already signed on to do the shows shes doing now. I was surprised she rescheduled that one concert

It's been about 3 years since we've heard from Janet Jackson, after her 2008 single 'Feedback' failed to chart here in Australia. But there's no denying that Janet is a music icon, with a career spanning over three decades and sales of almost 100 million albums worldwide.

This tour, her 'Number Ones' tour, takes you on a journey back in time. Janet performs hit after hit so you're sure to get most of your classic Janet favourites in the 90 minute show!
Jackson opened her show with a video clip that made me want to put a weave in my hair, snap my fingers and say "mm-hmm girlfriend!"

The first half of the show was spattered with a medley of hits like 'The Pleasure Principle', 'Feedback', 'You Want This' and my personal favourite 'What Have You Done For Me Lately'
Despite Janet cancelling her two Melbourne shows last week for an urgent trip back home to the US, she rescheduled her two shows into one, and fans that attended were not disappointed. The crowd was full of fans who you could tell had followed Janet's career from the mid-80s when she hit the big time with her album 'Control'.

Ever polite, Janet repeatedly thanked her devoted fans and acknowledged her Australian fans for helping her get her first number one.

The show was full of the choreography you'd expect from Janet and it certainly had an 80s and 90s feel to it, with Janet and her dancers dressed in jeans, combat boots and black t-shirts. Singing with the signature Jackson family 'aach' for emphasis that we know well from her brother Michael, Janet also shares something else with MJ: the crotch grab.

Prepare to see plenty of crotch grabbing, gyrating, thrusting and erm..., rubbing (Janet and the male dancers. Reow.)

Plenty of musical highlights, my favourites including 'Escapade', 'That's The Way Love Goes', 'Nasty', 'Miss You Much' and her Michael Jackson duet from 1995, 'Scream'!

The encore gloriously opened with a vibrant performance of 'Together Again' her 97 hit, which in this tour she's dedicated to her late brother Michael, with pictures from their childhood flash up on the screens behind her during the performance, and a loving glance into the heavens from Janet.

I hope Janet fans get the chance to see her live in concert - it was truly memorable.
