Janet and the rest of the jacksons willingness to deal with the very media (presenters and news outlets) that most persecuted mj reminds me of the political establishment in uk kowtowing to rupert murdoch's empire - (at least until last summer when the tables were turned somewhat). I think it's just cowardice - they don't want to be on the receiving end of the media's vindictiveness like mj was, so they try to keep the media sweet and feed the beast whilst secretly despising it. I honestly can't bear to imagine any other explanation as it wd be too upsetting.

True, but she could easily put questions about Michael's kids on the "don't ask" list if she wanted to. She said the same things before so it's pretty much part of her carefully crafted interview script. PJ is currently the most interesting Jackson so talking about her is good publicity, the privacy their father wanted for her isn't good for business so screw his wishes.

Something about this interview, especially the spanking, just made my skin crawl.

Promotion via her website promotes to her core audience/fans...MASS Promotion means she and ALL entertainers must conduct interviews with the media....Major promotion means being interviewed on major media outlets for MASS promotion.

And as I said before...therein lies the problem concerning Michael and finding a major media outlet that didn't treat Mike like crap in life (and some STILL do it in death)

Ebony magazine did not belittle Michael during the trial and Jet did not so she could put her ads there. The Amsterdam News in NY did not belittle him. Also, as a entertainer/public figure with her own career, she can't just give interviews to those outlets exclusively with each project she has. She would be blocking herself from a wider and broader audience that does not read those magazines.

you are missing the point I am not saying ebony jet essence are not part of mass media because they are from african descent owners I am saying it because they target a specific population they target african americans and talk about african american issues and what's going on in the african american community they are not targeting everybody , just like womens day and hair magazines aren't mass media because they target women ( not everybody ) lol how many men do you know are going to read women's day or how many women do you know read fhm ? But that is what she would be forced into doing if she ONLY gave interviews to media outlets that didn't mock, belittle, ridicule Mike...and that is the point.

You are misunderstanding what I and Strawberry have and are saying... Ebony and Jet (which ARE good examples of major media outlets), but it's audience is limited. Therefore it doesn't reach that broader audience that doesn't read Ebony and Jet...

So AFTER she gives that interview to Ebony/Jet (which both MJ and Janet were very good about supporting these publications...as you probably know, one of, if not THE last interview Mike gave was with Ebony), who ELSE can she can she go to in the media?

You mentioned Ellen, which is another good example of an outlet that didn't always mock and belittle Mike (that I know of), but again...does that mean Janet has to exclude herself to ONLY dealing with Ellen, Ebony, or Jet EVERY time she has a project to promote.

She would be SO limited in who she could talk to...there would literally be a HANDFUL of media outlets that she could deal with consistently.

And I understand what you're saying...I dislike Leno and a few others Janet has given interview to with a passion! I'm just focusing on the issue of Janet's interviews in general and promoting which ever project she currently has, not just this current nutrisystem/book thing.

Every time Janet talked to the media she would be REALLY limited in her choices of who she talked to, if she ONLY talked to outlets that didn't belittle/mock/ridicule Mike...and if she did this on a worldwide scale... there would truly only be a HANDFUL of people she could talk to. That's just the sad reality of the situation.

OMG!!!!!!!!! Thanks for saying this. IDK why people are in here trying to act like celebrities and interviewers only give interviews/ interview people that they like. It is a BUSINESS 1st and foremost. Im sure some of the people may not even care/ like each other but they do it anyway. The interviewer gets viewers for having certain celebrities on and the interviewee promotes a product to the viewers. WIN/WIN situation. Its all just a game. So people please calm down.

Exactly! the thing is Janet really likes Leno or at least she acts like she does.. The gushing and giggling and she even kisses him. Janet has to know or should know the venom and hatefulness that Leno said about Mike. I just don't think Janet cares as long as she looks good and they are allowing her to promote herself. The sad thing is Janet has said in the past that she had MJ's 'back', but I don't see how by going on Leno and not cussing his @ss out

I agree, and what I'm talking about is not JUST what Leno has said on his televison program, my beef with Leno is what he "tried" to do in that court room

The ENTIRE world knew and saw that Michael Jackson was not only fighting for his freedom, he was also fighting for his life.

Leno purposely got on that witness stand and tried to downplay his testimony. Like I said previously, when Leno made a police report regarding the situation, it was a BIG deal, but once he found out that his testimony would be a part of Michael's defense, he tried to disregard it.

That, in my opinion, was unforgiveable! And for that ALONE, Janet Jackson should stay far away from Leno!
