I think that is bs! I believe Katherine see people like Klein and others making outrageous accusations about Michael and see that by Branca and co having their hands tied [without full power to deal with Mike Estate and other things that comes along with this] she probably decided that it was best that she let them do their job. Also I feel too that all of these things she sees as hurting the kids and just wants to do right by having Michael's children best interest at heart.

Katherine is getting money for her and to take care of the kids from the estate already...so that don't cut the mustard with me. I don't think Katherine wanted Randy to be anything. I think Katherine wanted to just have a seat at the table so that she can see how Branca and co will be dealing with her son's affairs. Michael knew what he was doing when he put his mother along with his kids in his will. If she can stand up against Joe and his follies then Mike was on point with his will.

People need to realize as well that she is still grieving while she has to deal with Michaels' affairs and make sure that his kids are nurtured through this situation and not affected by all of the salacious and outrageous stuff occurring. I am at a point where I am going to start defending most of the Jackson family because they were his family, he LOVED them no matter what! Not all of them are out to get Michael's money.

If you have something against some of his family then that's your right, but at least have some respect for his mom who is trying her best to keep things normal for her son' children.

what? what do you mean? I am totally lost here. what did Debbie do? so you're saying that Streisand and Katherine were originally gonna go with Joe and Oxman? are you sure?

Yup the estate paid her back and paid for the rest that was due to Forest Lawn. They also posted the cost of certain things for the funeral such as $1,975.50 for a wardrobe for the family.

Mike probably had those things taking care of in his will via a life insurance which Janet has probably done the same for herself [like I have done for myself].

Like someone said in another post that Janet is probably doing things for those kids outside of Michael estate and without seeking to be paid back.

The judge's ruling came after an attorney for the "Thriller" singer's mother, Katherine Jackson, said she had no objection to John Branca and John McClain running the estate.
The Jackson estate is expected to see a boost of at least $200 million by the end of the year on the strength of the movie "This Is It" now playing in theaters, which relies on rehearsal footage of him, as well as music sales and other business deals engineered by Branca and McClain.
Michael Jackson died, age 50, on June 25 from an overdose of powerful medications, leaving behind an estate that includes part ownership in a music catalog with songs from numerous bands including the Beatles. According to Jackson's 2002 will, the estate funnels money to a trust that benefits Katherine Jackson, the singer's three kids and children's charities.
Until now, attorney Branca and music executive McClain have handled the estate as administrators, but legal experts said being named executors gives them broader powers and makes it harder for anyone to challenge their position.
"I think that the decision today means there won't be any further challenge," said attorney Beth Kaufman, a partner at the Washington, D.C., law firm Caplin & Drysdale, and an expert on estates.
In court filings, Joe Jackson challenged the appointment of Branca and McClain, but Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff dismissed his objections Tuesday.
Beckloff said Joe Jackson, who had a contentious relationship with his son, was excluded from the estate's assets under the singer's will and family trust, and therefore had no standing to challenge Branca or McClain.
"That was a decision his son made," Beckloff said in court. "I don't see how (Joe Jackson's) affected by the appointment of Branca or McClain as executors."
In recent months, Katherine Jackson also had objected to the way Branca and McClain ran the estate, and she demanded greater say. But last month, she replaced her legal team and on Tuesday her new attorney, Adam Streisand, said Katherine approves of Branca and McClain.
Even though Branca and McClain were named executors, legal experts said Jackson's estate is likely to stay tied up in the court system for years as a judge oversees matters such as paying creditors and making business deals.
"A year in the blink of an eye will be gone, and they probably won't have scratched the surface," said Michael Dave, an attorney who handles probate and estate matters with the Los Angeles firm Marcus, Watanabe, Snyder and Dave.
Separately at Tuesday's court hearing, Beckloff made public the nearly $1 million cost to the estate to stage the pop star's funeral. The internment itself cost nearly $600,000.

My oh my...Oxman sure is pissed that he's not getting the "family" a piece of the estate. Guess this means he's not going to get all the legal fees he's racked up these last 5 months paid. Joe better be careful because if the estate does grant him an allowance, all of it is going to go to Oxman for his fees. Now, that's just funny!

Oxman is working for Joe not the family. People need to separate certain family members from Joe.

I've done it too for myself. still, this is just a bit too much to take, considering everything ELSE that some members of this family seem to be bent on doing to his estate.

I am seriously reconsidering my prior feelings about Joe getting an allowance. at first, I thought, okay, he's 81, he's diabetic, he's had a stroke... fine, give him something if he's been getting it all these years. but today after watching this latest fiasco, I dunno... it's pretty horrific. Mike was completely justified in cutting him out.

I make the separation, but I was quoting him about the agreement with the "family". And I believe he has been an adviser to other Jacksons, albeit not all of them.

ETA: The fact that any Jackson works with Oxman is disheartening. .
 
can someone point me to a link or a thread or something about what Debbie has done here? somebody said she's involved in this thing? what has she done? please give us a link or something... I'd like to know.
 
I snuck in here to say one thing - as per Rev Sharpton - let us remember not to just deal with the mess, but honour the message.

It seems that whenever one comes to the News & Happening forum it is one TMZ 'article/story' after another. It is almost as if we delight in these discussions/recriminations/arguments/speculations.

Maybe we should step away from these stories for a little bit, and look to bring a more positive energy to MJJC.

You have to remember that Katherine actually hire a new lawyer to fight Brance and Mcclain. They were actually about to use many of the same arguments that were used by Oxman and Joe. Suddenly, they changed their mind and support the two executives, I do not blame william for thinking something went down over the last couple of weeks.

We do not know what is was, but it is possible that Debbie threaten the family in some way if the kept up with this foolishness. It can also be a case of Katherine coming to her senses and told certain family to back off.

Also, I think it is really unfair that we cannot be critical of Katherine, but it is okay to do so with the other family members. She was the one who filed the complaint to begin with. The other children are not in the will and like Joe, have no standing to argue the terms. Katherine does and she was the one questioning everything and holding things up. If this was anyone else, we would be questioning them too.

So, I think it is perfectly fair to criticized and wonder about Katherine's motives. We do it everyone else and despite what Michael said, she is not a saint.

Judge Beckloff asked Oxman why they were objecting at this time. Oxman said that Katherine Jackson had reneged on a deal she made to the Jackson family to contest the executors and that is why Joe was taking this action. Oxman said, "Mrs. Jackson has reached some sort of deal with the estate, some backdoor deal."

....I just can't even imagine what's been going on internally in Encino. What a mess.

Why do I sense some sort of negative agenda from you? In particular regards to the Jackson family. Most of your posts have an agenda either against a majority of the Jackson family or Katherine, why???

Agree, but it is important news. While we try to spread the love as fans, Michael's FAMILY spreads hate...
Rev Sharpton said nice things.. but he slao said we needed more father like Joseph. As much as I'd like to spread love, I can,t help but react at this and be angry and comment.

Before you guys start bashing any member of this family you have to ask yourself: If Michael was alive would it be nice for him to hear this kind of words from his fans about his relatives? Would he want to discuss his private relationship with his family in public? I do not think so. I just wish to see more respect for this family. Let them do what they think is right. It is none of our business basically.
 
well, if he didn't want to hear it, why did he talk publicly about Joe? I doubt he'd be surprised to hear people blaming Joe for all kinds of ill here.
 
Do you have any idea what it is like to deal with the UNEXPECTED, SUDDEN death of a loved one? I believe Mrs Jackson did the best she could at the time. She relied on lawyers she knew Michael was dealing with at the time (Londell and someone I have forgotten). Those lawyers may have been doing what they thought best at the time, but they had personal releationships with Michael and they may not have been as professionally objective as they should have been. They were not probate or estate law specialists.

I think as more time past Mrs Jackson could deal more realisticly with the circumstances. That is why she hired a lawyer who specializes in Probate Law. We cannot imagine what it is like to be in her shoes.

As far as Joseph is concerned, you can imagine the Oxman is perpetuating and encouraging this madness. We have witnessed how mouthy and opinionated he can be with his wrong-headed ideas and opinions. If Joseph wants to waste his social security money by giving it to Oxman to pursue this, so what. Just like the the Estate Lawyer implied he can take his claim and stand in line behind every body else.

And if you believe all Joseph has is a Social Security check as his sole income, I have a bridge in Brooklyn, NY to sell you. Part of the Motown contract, and the Columbia Records contract was Keogh retirement account for him as the then Manager of the Jackson 5/Jacksons.

Joe is another story.But would he want his fans to discuss his fanacial issues? I do not think so. Have you ever heard him saying something bad about his brothers and sisters? I think this family needs more respect from his fans. It is alreday goes too far.
 
why do I feel that Katherine has given Joe the OK to dispute the will since she could risk loosing her inheritance...................this whole thing seems fishy to me and I hope I am wrong..

Katherine is pulling out of the fight becuz the claim was bogus in the 1st place...there are 2 wills 5years apart that are pretty much the same....

also the THIS IS IT movie kills their chances of saying Michael has been out of head for years.....so there went that scheme...

Katherine has been following the sheeps....
