Look at this fly by the seat of your pants operation and then go take a look at the the video of Zaldy talking about the costumes for the cirque show. they are sparing no expense it looks like which is how it should be!!!

^^Good observation, remember the care that he took in making the costumes for Michael? Listen to how he talks about his work and how the put the gems in the pocket as a treat for Michael. When Michael does something he is respectful, puts his all into it, gets the best in the business to work with him. Why couldn't this gang follow his example and do a respectful Tribute with the best stars out there? The answer is that they want quick money and are not doing it for the real reasons.

I almost wish the Estate would come to the rescue of this disaster. Poor Michael doesn't deserve this half assed effort.

No no, let them all hang themselves with this fiasco.....lets see who they'll blame then, 'cause they sure won't be blaming themselves!

I literally can just see John branca laughing at this mess!:cheeky:

Although the Jackson dug themselves into this crap hole, I kind of feel sorry for them.

It is becoming all to painfully obvious that this family never once organize a show. We know back in the J5 days Motown took care of such details when they tour. The same could be said when they went to CBS/Sony, but I doubt it. From what I see today, Michael was the one who got everything together and got them locked in step.

I got criticize almost 2 years ago when I observed how disorganize the brothers were during their reality show. I said then that they needed Michael because he was their 'leader', not just lead singer. He was the one who got the event together, organize the music, playlist, kept the family together, and got the people to get things done. I was call out on this because I was told that the brothers were more than able to do stuff on their own and it was just family division holding them back.

I think we can all clearly see now that my initiation assumption was correct. It isn't just the fact we have some family members divided, but it is also the undeniable fact that none of them know how to put together any kind of event. Everything is either done out of order or half-ass. Although greed does play apart in this, I also believe that it is plane ignorance on most of the family's part. They don't know and don't want to admit that they can't run a concert. They depended on Michael for everything for so long that they couldn't put a tribute together even if their motives were pure. This is probably one of the reasons, beside money, whey no J5 reunion ever took place.

As far as I can see, Michael truly was the life blood of his family and their are like blind children without him.

I also believe the family is much more divided than they appear to be, despite the almost united front they show in front of the media. And I believe the phone calls between the Jerm-Randy team and the rest of the family must have been quite stormy these last days.

Now don't forget the Jacksons are not organizing anything. They're like performers themselves actually, they're renting their name for the event, to attract people. That, is one first clue the promoter doesnt no ish about the fans. :p

And, it's just another proof that this family has no reliable contact inside the business anymore, or, that no one reliable wants to do business with them, considering their reputation.

Finally the sad part for them is that it's their name on the line. People won't remember GL in this fiasco, but the Js will be an even bigger laughing stock than they are now.

Of course, lots of people will say it's karma. Don't associate with crooks to milk Michael's fans. :)

Promoters are promising that "Michael Forever: The Tribute Concert" to honor the late singer will go on as planned.

STORY HIGHLIGHTS
  • "Fans of Michael's music will get the concert they've been waiting for," promoter says
  • Ticket sales are on hold until concert acts are announced
  • Jackson's mother, three brothers and a sister endorsed the October 8 show in Wales
  • Brothers Jermaine and Randy objected because the trial of Jackson's doctor will be under way

Los Angeles (CNN) -- Organizers of a Michael Jackson tribute concert, supported by the late pop star's mother and four siblings, promise they will announce "an incredible line-up very soon" that will include "some of the greatest names in music."
Promoters missed their deadline of Thursday to name the performers for the October 8 show, forcing them to put registration for tickets to the Cardiff, Wales, concert on hold.
"The registration period was put on hold because we want people to know who they are registering to see," Chris Hunt, the head of the British company promoting the concert, said in a message posted online Friday.
The plan had been to announce the acts over a 10-day period following the July 25 news conference in which Jackson brothers Marlon, Tito and Jackie, sister La Toya and family matriarch Katherine Jackson endorsed the "Michael Forever: The Tribute Concert."
The Global Live Events chief promised fans Friday the process would get on track.
"Between now and October we will be continuing to add names to the line-up so more announcements will follow," Hunt said. "Fans of Michael's music will get the concert they've been waiting for."
"Some of the greatest names in music are already signed, and more are trying to shuffle other commitments to come on board," a statement posted Friday on the concert website said.
Plans for the show appeared to be in disarray Thursday when tickets were to go on sale, but instead of providing a link for purchases the promoter's website asked fans to "Please Standby for further announcements."
The problems started soon after the family announced the "Michael Forever: The Tribute Concert" at the Beverly Hills Hotel on July 25.
La Toya Jackson said it was "something that's spectacular" while the Jacksons' mother called it "a show fit for a king."
"If my son were here today, he would feel the same way," Katherine Jackson said.
"I know my brother would be very, very proud to see all the artists that he admired and respected so much coming together for this event," Tito Jackson said.
But an hour later, Jermaine and Randy Jackson, the only brothers not at the news conference, issued a sharply worded statement that reflected a deep division within the Jackson family over the show. "We want to make clear that this does not reflect the position of the entire family," the two brothers said in a joint statement.
"While we wholeheartedly support the spirit of a tribute that honors our brother, we find it impossible to support an event that is due to take place during the criminal trial surrounding Michael's death."
The involuntary manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson's physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, begins in September and is expected to continue into October.
While Hunt had hinted it could include a Jackson brothers reunion, the statement from Jermaine and Randy Jackson made it clear that would not happen.
"In light of this, we feel it is inappropriate to be involved with such an ill-timed event and its promoter, Global Live," Randy and Jermaine Jackson said. Their statement said the idea of the October concert was presented to the entire family in April "as an idea already in its advanced stages." The decision to go ahead with it "disrespects opinions and wishes expressed in the strongest terms" by some members of the Jackson family, they said.
The Michael Jackson Fan Club agreed with the two brothers, issuing a similar statement. "We share their concerns that this concert is taking place at a most inappropriate time when everyone's care and attention should be focused on the matter of justice. We believe that, as stated by Jermaine and Randy, the most important tribute we can give to Michael Jackson at this time is to seek justice in his name."
Jackson fans posted messages on the concert's Facebook page questioning ticket prices and the process for buying them.
Fans must place bids for a chance to buy a ticket. The higher their pledge to a charity, the better their chances of getting a good seat.
"The ticket system is so bad!! the higher you bid the better seats you get?? not every Michael fan is rich!!!" one fan posted on the "Michael Forever Tribute" Facebook page Thursday.
The October 8 show, in the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, which seats 75,000 people, would be at least four hours long, Hunt said.
In addition to the other problems surrounding the event, a spokesman for Michael Jackson's estate said last week that the promoters never sought or obtained permission from the estate's executors to use late pop singer's name or image.
"The estate has not been contacted and is not involved with Global Live Events in the UK tribute concert announced today," spokesman Jim Bates told CNN.

"Promoters are promising that "Michael Forever: The Tribute Concert" to honor the late singer will go on as planned."

Ermm.. the thing is that it is NOT planned...lol

And the Jackson should really finally get this reality slap in the face, they are not royalty to us, Michael is important to us, Michael is important in people's life...

Even if Michael is gone.. Michael IS
Even if the Jacksons are alive.. they WERE.

Period.

This concert was not interested in charity either. It is now the in thing, sorry to say, to say you are giving some money to charity when you are selling something you know people will question. Be wary of situations where the charity money is not coming from the gross sales. My position is anytime I see the word charity when I have to buy something, my antenna goes into alert mode.

Hopefully this gets postponed gracefully and admit defeat. Just like in a tennis match.

It was NEVER about charity. It was a SCAM since day one.

Everything the Jacksons have been apart of (Belt signing, Joe’s schemes, working with Mann, Fake charities ect.) have never been approved or been in connection with the Estate which says A LOT..Kinda funny how they are attempting to promote this as “The one and official tribute” when it’s nothing of the sort..Sadly this ‘tribute’ is just yet another peg in ‘money making schemes’ as well..I'm hoping it is canceled but I'm not so sure it will be.. :sigh:

They will have to call it off, if they can't get artists, and ticket sales are low. That is how it's likely to be. I think one reason they cancelled the charity bid on tickets is because registrations weren't come through, but people are not going to rush out and buy tickets just because the price has been reduced somewhat. This project has been doomed right from the start, and I'm not complaining :)

Although the Jackson dug themselves into this crap hole, I kind of feel sorry for them.

Keep your sorry for those who deserve it.

If MJ felt sorry for them..he would have paid off the moonies years ago to get them off his family's back, he did not.

Feel sorry for the thousands who are dying of hunger in Africa. Don't feel sorry for these greedy fools.

Congrats!

I feel sorry for Craig, he doesn't realize what he's getting himself into by agreeing to participate

Well, I dont know if he realized what he got himself into, but the announcements of his involvement have been deleted from both his FB and twitter page. :p

Thats odd...intrigued as to what happened there,he probably realised he was already booked up all 7days

Good, I'm glad he has removed those comments and the announcement, even if it's only until the organisers get their act together. I can't see them getting anyone involved in this concert whilst there is an unspoken underlying threat that the estate could shut it down, no one is going to take that risk. I like Craig David, I think he is a decent chap and don't want to see him get his fingers burnt.

And still silence from the family..well Toy Toy is sharing on her Twitter the fact that she spoke with Kathy Hilton for hours about the good ol days...
