The sad thing for me is that Mike worked so hard and it was Frank I am a person who just thinks in a 'time like this' a family member would be there.. i dunno' Media lies ppl lies.. God bless the three kids and I love you Michael..

So CNN lied and basically now the media is saying they will be there tomorrow since they didn't attend tonights award show, lovely should be another interesting day tomorrow. Well either way I will be watching.

Why didn't his family go or at least a member? Will the kids be at the Grammys? Seems like the media is using MJ's kids as a way to bring in ratings :smilerolleyes:

It's just that people have ben telling the biggest lies about this during this week and we all went crazy discussing why the kids should/shouldn't be there and you see: NOTHING!

DONT y'all remember what happened in 2006 WMA? They said Mike would be performing Thriller...But Mike didnt even know about it. And some fans went to the morning show and said how upset they were that Michael didnt perform...And how it was a waste of time...

I loved What Delio said...about Michael calling and saying "Can you believe what this person said on the Grammys tonight?"...and he'd laugh histerically and hung up...:lol:

Dont slauther the family cuz they didnt come. They might have a good reason. I think the award is gonna be given again and a family will accept it tommrow...

Me too, I'm not talking about the children, but if I had won a Lifetime Achievement award I'd hope my family would be there. I know if my family member won this award I would want to be there for them. This feels sad and lonely. I would have liked a family member.. what happened? even Jermaine wasn't there.

I doubt they will be there tomorrow. Even though they are paying tribute to him it isnt an award.

I am disappointed and I think a family member should have accepted it. I wish we had seen the video presentation. I thought it was rude those 2 people kept interrupting like that. As for tomorrow, I don't know what will happen. I know there is a tribute for Michael and I will watch but I am not expecting a lot.

I feel the Special Merit Awards Show would have been so much more suitable for the children than the "main" one. This one we just watched was human and real, not about the glitz and the glamour, not about who's wearing what and celebrity spotting in the audience. This was touching and inspirational, CLASSY, and slightly under the radar which I feel would have been good for them.

Hey hun...ummm CNN didnt say Michael's children were gonna be there tonight, They said tomorrow...at the 52 GRAMMYS...so i dont know if they "lied"

I dont know for sure if the Grammy's are recorded the night before but if they are, maybe thats why the articles said they were accepting the award tonight, but it will be on tomorrow night. I have no clue just trying to think of reasons why this happened.

That's right. The CNN article is full of quotes from Oxman and "two sources." Joe himself confirmed twice the kids would be coming; he spoke to TMZ and in a statement published by People in an article (on pg 72).

The news that the children would be accepting an award/appearing at the Grammys didn't just come from the media though..

Marlon Jackson said 'its a surprise' when asked 'who would be accepting the award?' (was Frank the surprise..well actually it turns out he was)

The Jackson's producer said something like 'let them do what is in their hearts for their dad' and said again today that they would be at the Grammys.

Well looks like were going to have to wait to see what tommorow brings.

IF they appear tommorow...they would be attending the Grammys which may be a bit too inappropriate for children during certain performances?

Never knew Michael as a person who would bring his children to award shows, we all know how unpredictable they usually are. Just my thoughts.

Yeah Jodi Gomes (Jack5ons Family Dynasty producer) tweeted "Joe Jackson Proud To Have Michael's Kids At The Grammys" and posted a link to the People article which started off:
As the Grammy Awards prepare to honor the late King of Pop with a Lifetime Achievement Award, Joe Jackson says he is proud to have his grandchildren accept the award on his son's behalf.

According to reports, Michael Jackson's two eldest children, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael, 12, are scheduled to take the stage at Saturday's Special Merit Awards ceremony at L.A.'s Wilshire Ebell Theater.

I am so confused. Maybe the children just got nervous and decided against going on stage?

I think we all had a big missunderstanding :lol: , they are attending (or this is what i think) to the ACTUAL CEREMONY, where the REAL DESERVED TRIBUTE IS TAKING PLACE,

cause after seeing the ceremony of today, GOD IM GLAD IT WAS A MISSUNDERSTANDING!!!!!!!!! :yes:
