Maybe the kids will speak tomorrow...that's what E! News is saying anyway
Don't hold your breath on that........ I bet it won't happen.

It makes me smh.... we are all still so gullible even though we know we shouldn't be! Or maybe we were just hopeful.

Re: Michael Jackson's Kids May Appear at Grammys - Update pg 13 (All discussion here)

Huh?? You wanted them to be there all the way through the thread. What changed your mind?
Woman/man i think you had a mistake

while i was watching that poorly organized ceremony it totaally change my position and wrote way before the Michael Achievement award was given, THAT I WISH THE KIDS NOT TO BE THERE ANYMORE CAUSE IT WAS VERY BAD ORGANIZED,

SO READ BEFORE YOU WRiTE OK???? OK???

Re: Michael Jackson's Kids May Appear at Grammys - Update pg 13 (All discussion here)

Btw, I think the reason they cut the actual video (of MJ's achievements throughout his life) out of the stream is because they are going to play it tomorrow...maybe...hopefully...idk.

Re: Michael Jackson's Kids May Appear at Grammys - Update pg 13 (All discussion here)

Can someone tell me why Carrie Underwood is part of the tribute tomorrow?
All the others seem to have connections to Michael (Smokey of course, Celine - always a fan, knew Michael a bit, Jennifer - performed at Michael's memorial). Carrie just seems a little out of place?

Celine Dion says she's feeling sad, angry about Michael Jackson's death

Nick Patch, THE CANADIAN PRESS
The Canadian Press, 2010

LOS ANGELES - Celine Dion says she's still sad and angry about the death of Michael Jackson.

The diva is set to take the stage along with Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Carrie Underwood and Smokey Robinson for a 3-D tribute to Jackson at the 52nd Grammy Awards on Sunday.

It will be the first look at the environmentally conscious "Earth Day" mini-movie Jackson created for his "This Is It" tour before his death last June.

After rehearsals on Saturday, Dion was asked how it felt to sing "Earth Day" while images of the King of Pop scrolled by on massive screens overhead.

"Very emotional," said Dion, clad in a grey embroidered T-shirt and jeans, with a white leather jacket and thigh-high grey suede boots.

"Very honoured and emotional at the same time. It's kind of an awkward feeling. Sadness, and mad at the same time that he was top shape.

"You see a lot through the newspapers and it's unfortunate sometimes that people have this (distorted) image, but Michael was on top of his gig and on top of his talent, and seeing the movie and seeing him, how top-shape he was, it's very difficult to accept."

Special glasses are available only in the United States at Target stores, so Canadian viewers might not get the full effect of the visuals, which feature a small girl dancing through a lush jungle and falling asleep to images of polar bears, elephants and zebras charging around onscreen.

The song, however, will still pack a punch. As Dion swayed and danced onstage alongside the others, the group harmonized with pre-recorded vocals from Jackson.
For Dion, Jackson was an "amazing source of inspiration." So much so, that she said he was part of the reason she decided to learn English.

"I wanted the same life - show business," she explained.

"I wanted to sing onstage like him. ... I wanted to be onstage someday with Michael Jackson, especially (to) sing onstage with him maybe one day."

Dion said she didn't want to meet the King of Pop and be unable to tell him how honoured she was because of a language barrier.

"It was because of him in a way that I went to school to learn English," she said.
The Grammy performance is difficult for her, the singer added.

"It is, because I'm not only a fan, but I knew him personally a little bit, I met with him, and it's difficult to know that he was doing perfectly well and that he's no longer with us," she said.

"It's just heartbreaking."

So she took one more opportunity to explain what made Jackson such a special performer.

"Michael was not only a great musician, he was a great dancer, he was a great visionary, he had every instrument inside of his body, he knew exactly what he wanted to hear, what he wanted to do, he was feeling everything," she said.

"I hear 'HOO,"' she says, imitating Jackson's signature high-pitched flourish. "I hear this, it's not even a song, but for me it means everything. ...

"He was very, very special. I'm a big fan of Michael Jackson, period. That's all I can say."
Michael was the reason for me to learn English as well :(

Re: Michael Jackson's Kids May Appear at Grammys - Update pg 13 (All discussion here)

I am so upset right now guys. Not because the kids didn't show up, probably they are not ready yet, and that's okay. Some other time then...

But Frank? Seriosly? For everyone else it was family who received an award and for Michael it was a manager. As if Michael was an ophran. Why none of his family came to get this award? It was such a classy ceremony with very respected people. But it was not televised. Maybe that's why nobody was interested? Poor Michael. Having so many relatives, he was lonely in life and he is lonely in death.

Well people BITCH and accuse them of hogging the spotlight when they do and do the same when they don't. If they did this thread would turn to " THE JACKSON FAMILY PREVENTED P & P FROM ACCEPTING THE AWARD" Do we honestly thing that family doesn't come on these boards and read all the BS fans spew their way.

They're damaned if they do and damned if they don'y!!!!!!!!

Re: Michael Jackson's Kids May Appear at Grammys - Update pg 13 (All discussion here)

mkgenie, what Celine said made me cry. Thanks for posting it. :huggy:

I'm sad for Michael that none of his family members turned up to accept on his behalf. Why? :(
Why>? Because it was a non televised event, bet you most of them will make tomorrow's Grammy's though. But of course most of you will come up with a perfectly fine excuse as for why they didn't have time today but will have tomorrow, and bet you anything that excuse will have nothing to do with folks wanting to get their mugs out, instead with them being busy.

Re: Michael Jackson's Kids May Appear at Grammys - Update pg 13 (All discussion here)

I'm confused

I thought they were presenting the award at the Grammys tomorrow?! :mello:
No, the LTAA's are always presented the night before the grammy's (though it wasn't always this way).

Re: Michael Jackson's Kids May Appear at Grammys - Update pg 13 (All discussion here)

Guys, don't jump on the news that they might show tomorrow. From what's just happened we know that could be total tabloid garbage. We really can't trust anyone but certain members of the Jackson family. Just dont hold on to the story for dear life just yet ;)

Re: Michael Jackson's Kids May Appear at Grammys - Update pg 13 (All discussion here)

ok....????

I got all worked up over Dileo?

I was sittin' here with tears in my eyes and shaking for Dileo?

Well, I'm kind of relieved they didn't go up there.

But now I'm hearing that they "may" go on stage tomorrow at the "actual" Grammy's? And give a speech about Mike? and....the nerves return.

Didn't know that. So who was there? Besides Frank Dileo...

The only credible excuse I can think of is that Prince and Paris attended with Frank and were going to accept the award but got too nervous or something.
Yeah I know..clutching at straws I guess but.. :/
I have always been one to defend the Jacksons but this time I really do not know how to..

Why does this all seem like a cheap ratings ploy?

Thats strange.. like the most important people aren't a part of the actual Grammy show. I find that strange.

I would have rather them be at this quiet ceremony with quality artists etc. than the glitz-glamour fakery paparazzi infested one tomorrow.

What was the name of Michaels award, can anyone tell me? Was it Lifetime Achievement? If so, I didn't know he could get another seeing as he got one back in '92, right?

Re: Michael Jackson's Kids May Appear at Grammys - Update pg 13 (All discussion here)

LMAO...A big fat NOBODY. If your asking who was there from his family.

Why?

What award is this? I thought Mike got a Lifetime Achievement award in '93!?!

What he got in 93' was the Grammy LEGEND award, Presented to him by his beautiful baby sister btw.

Re: Michael Jackson's Kids May Appear at Grammys - Update pg 13 (All discussion here)

Yeah, I have it on the Dangerous Short Films DVD, thanks for reminding me ;)

Re: Michael Jackson's Kids May Appear at Grammys

Actually I don't dislike the idea of Michael's children receiving a Grammy award for Michael. They will give Michael an award, right? Or will just do the Earth Song? I forgot.

it's only fitting that they receive the award for their dad. anything to keep Jermaine from doing it again.

but they really shouldn't be on the red carpet.

I looked it up the other day and that was actually called a Living Legend award.

This one was a Lifetime Achievement.
