Formule 1

Hmm.. I don't know what to say now, I'm not as pessimistic as you are.. :D
I get what your saying though, I hoped that Kimi would do better, too, and 9th place was a disappointment but but.. after all it's only first race and qualifying. Tomorrow's results show us the real situation because it's the race that matters.
There are some drivers who aren't "used to" be on the top of the list and the pressure can get too big.

Blah I don't know what I'm writing but my point is I haven't lost my hope yet. I'm just happy the season has started again and I wont let anything ruin that joy! :)

Questions & answers with Kimi

Q. What happened in the race?
Kimi Raikkonen:
It was my mistake to hit the wall, it was just sudden but I spun. Looking afterwards we would probably have finished second, and it is a shame.
Q. And for the championship it is a very bad start?
KR:
Yes, but there is not much you can do. We try to do better at the next race but definitely one of the hardest races I have done in a while.
Q. What do you think about the challenge of Brawn Grand Prix?
KR:
I haven't seen their laptimes but it looks like they won it pretty easily. This circuit is different compared to the others. We sometimes see that we have a hard time here but when we go to more normal circuit it seems to turn out pretty okay. Let's wait and see until the next race, and see what we can do and then make more decisions. It is a shame that I went off. We lost some valuable points, but that is racing.
Q. Brawn GP won without KERS. How did you find it?
KR:
It worked well at the start. There was just no space to go as I got a good start, but there were too many cars in front so I could not use it. Like I said before, we would not use it if it was not a help for us so it was working okay.
Q. How were the tyres working?
KR:
Both tyres were quite difficult. The soft is pretty good from the beginning but then it goes away a lot, and the hard one is quite tricky. You lose the grip sometimes and it is not easy to use for us. Like I said, it was for sure a difficult race – it taught us a lot but maybe it is going to be different when we go to normal circuits like Malaysia.
Q. How do you see Brawn GP?
KR:
If they are 1-2 in qualifying and 1-2 in the race then they are pretty strong – but we saw that already in testing, so it is not a surprise.
Q. How long will it take to catch them?
KR:
We will see how is it in the next race. It all depends on the rules, what the rules are going to be in the future, there are a lot of question marks about what you are allowed to do and what not. So let's wait and see.

pff what a race :(
i was really amazed of the brawn gp team, first race and instantly pole position and a 1-2 finish.. well done!
what a way to start the season for the ferraris
it's quite lame that trulli got punished. hamilton passed trulli, but he let trulli pass again because of the safetycar situation. i wouldn't be very much surprised if this was one of those dirty games of hamilton  (he did that "slow down under safetycar"-trick before, when alonso was his teammate)

^ I can't believe HAMILTON managed to get 3rd. What does that guy do to be so lucky?

yeah indeed he is VERY lucky.. imagine that he would be the winner of the race if the FIA judges the diffusers are illegal and disqualifies the Brawn GP drivers

Oh, please.. don't even say that.

Sorry, I'm so mean  But why Heikki is always the one who suffers?

They say they won't take the points away... :( I bet they won't find those diffusers illegal. So, no chance anymore... *cries*

Sorry for not visiting this thread since the GP but I was sooo dissapointed. I even posted a long post and it was gone.... I didn't typed it again.

I hated that they said it was Kimi's fault. I've seen the video of it several times and I tell you it wasn't. Kimi went into the turn, came the spin and then he hit the kerb, that's why he hit the wall. He was unlucky because there was a wall. Had there been grass he could have gone forward without a crash. They say he has to say it was his mistake because it was a mechanical failure and they don't want to admit it. He could have been 2nd, 8 points!!!! OMG! How crucial those points would have been!!!! I can't believe it how unlucky Kimi is.

Hamilton was lucky, indeed.

They say it would be a rainy weekend there in Malaysia. Rain can turn around the things quite easily. As we know from last year. So I don't want it. :(

What do you say to those damn super-soft tyres???!!! OMG! That was awful. On Ferrari cars, that were so gentle to the tyres, started to grain first.:bugeyed

They say KERS is not that good in Ferrari and it could cause the disadvantage between Ferrari and other teams. In Australia it seemed that not just they're unreliable but the pace isn't there also. Brawn GP, BMW, Red Bull and Toyota ahead of Ferrari???!!! Wtf...

Now what the journalists say? Poor Massa had DNF, Kimi made a mistake.:(

But they don't tell that Kimi was superior to Massa when we are talking about the fastest laps/race pace. Kimi's best lap was 0.670 better than Massa's. Kimi was 4th (and could have been 2nd because of Vettel's and Kubica's crash), Massa the last, again. Kimi could beat him during the 2nd pit stop and in qualifying Massa was better only by 0.100.

That is one sexy Kimi pic in the middle.:wub::wub: He's like good wine, isn't he? :cheeky:You can see the picture on the Ferrari Store website! :)

Ferrari will improve. We all expected this to be a season full of the unexpected. We will see drivers who have never had much time on the podium enjoying their moment in the sun.
It's exciting in a way, although like you I am rooting for Kimi, Felipe and Ferrari to be victorious this season. I think the new rules have hurt some teams (Ferrari being one) more than others, and it gives some teams who have not had much hope in the past to finally have some hope. It's interesting really, having no idea who we will see standing on the podium after a race this year, unlike most years when we pretty much knew that the same 4 or 5 drivers would always be there.

Anyways, I'll be cheering Kimi, Felipe and Ferrari on to success this year, and it's nice knowing a few fellow MJ fans here will too.

Enjoy the races! :clapping:

Yes, you are right! But to be honest, I would like to see boring races when Kimi wins all the time! :cheeky:

They say it would be a rainy race/weekend in Malaysia. Will be exciting and fun.

Have you heard the news?

Hamilton disqualified from Australian GP:punk:

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/74146

UpToMe and MichaelV: what do you think about those (illegal?) diffusors?

^^ Haha, yeah I heard about Lewis Hamster :shifty:

This season will be so exciting! I really wish Ferrari will improve their work and compete the win in every race! That would be the best. Some real driving and great passes!! Can't wait!

ps. Nico is doing great again in the practises :)

pps. About that wallpaper, I almost didn't recognize Kimi :bugeyed He somehow doesn't look like himself?

Guess what I answered

OMG I'm so mean! I can't stand myself. Forgive me  :(

Massa! :bugeyed

For me, though the result with Kimi was the same as last week I feel that Ferrari has improved a little bit. And though I like to see Kimi as the better driver I do hope that Massa manages to climb that result list higher than 16 tomorrow :)

I wish also good luck to Nico and Heikki :)

1. Jenson Button Brawn 1.35,181
2. Jarno Trulli Toyota + 0,092
3. Timo Glock Toyota + 0,509
4. Nico Rosberg Williams + 0,569
5. Mark Webber Red Bull + 0,616
6. Robert Kubica BMW + 0,925
7. Kimi Räikkönen Ferrari + 0,989
8. Fernando Alonso Renault + 2,478
9. Rubens Barrichello Brawn + 0,470 *
10. Nick Heidfeld BMW
11. Kazuki Nakajima Williams
12. Lewis Hamilton McLaren
13. Sebastian Vettel Red Bull **
14. Heikki Kovalainen McLaren
15. Sebastien Bourdais Toro Rosso
16. Felipe Massa Ferrari
17. Nelson Piquet Renault
18. Giancarlo Fisichella Force India
19. Adrian Sutil Force India
20. Sebastien Buemi Toro Rosso

pps. About that wallpaper, I almost didn't recognize Kimi :bugeyed He somehow doesn't look like himself?

He's too sexy for words... he's much more mature now!

About the poll: why do you feel yourself mean? All the people who are in the 86% are mean? No, they are honest. And that is the situation all over the world. They just can't stand Hamster. With this lie his reputation is in hell... Nice start of the season for him. It's not enough that his car isn't competitive, then comes this lie too.

Well, I expected Kimi a little bit higher on the grid. Maybe 3rd or 4th but he also stated that the problem is simple: they are not fast enough. Still, I hope he could have a nice race with good points, maybe a podium would be so nice. I'm afraid of Kubica, it's almost impossible to overtake him and they are on a similar fuel load too. And in Kimi's back there is Barricrashello...:( I hope he will be cautious this time, otherwise I'll go and kick his butt!!!!!!!!!!!

oh, how I (Kimi) miss those 8 points from Australia. Those would have been crucial points.

Massa :bugeyed OMG, they need to learn that things turn around completely this season. I'm happy it didn't happen to Kimi.

Brawn and Button are in an other league. I must say all the 3 teams with the different diffusor...

Pfft what a race.

The lightings were beautiful though.

Go Kimi, with ice cream & coke.

Haha this is totally ridiculous what is happening at Ferrari....:bugeyed Nice tyre choice, they say it was Schumacher who advised this "great" idea. Of course had there been rain in 1 minute then we would be here praising him. But this didn't happen. Why they couldn't wait 1 or 2 more laps, Kimi had enough fuel. I guess they didn't want to make another Silverstone 2008 but it turned out they did. Later when his WET tires were destroyed, he had to go to the pit and then he got intermediate tires, when everybody were switching to wet tires. ... OMG

I can't believe but still I've found some positive things in this crazy race:

1. the drivers got half of the points - not too much damage in the points for Kimi

2. Felipe baby, stay cool - LOOOL @ Rob Smedley, it's like he always says "Felipe baby" to Felipe. LOL now all the people around the world know this :cheeky:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsSmGPLMVno

3. Kimi and his ice cream, coke and shorts LOL so Kimilicious, so Kimi-style. The other drivers were sitting in their wet overals in their wet cockpits, nervously while he was having a shower and later enjoyed his time in the Ferrari garage. Reminds me of Monaco 2006 after his engine blew up (he was driving for the victory there :() and he calmly walked on his friend's yacht and later we could see him shirtless with a glass of beer in his hands.
That's why I could get over this craziness in a minute. I was thinking: if Kimi thinks this is sh*t then why should I worry at all?

I can't believe but still I've found some positive things in this crazy race:
Good! Because I'm getting frustrated that they can't even finish a race! I was waiting this season so much but I didn't wait it to see races that aren't finished and those that are, Ferrari sucks and Hamilton gets all the advantage (though, which, in the end he lost (the points)).

Felipe baby, that was the best part of the whole race, thank you!

give every f1 fan a tip,Hamilton will either win or certainly be on the podium at Barcelona in a few weeks time, the car is set up every year based on the track layout of the barcelona track, wil also have new aero packages by then,my prediction for this seasons upcoming races
HAMILTON 1ST AT SPANISH AND BRITISH GP
MASSA 1ST TURKISH GP
wish ferrari would get rid of kimi and massa and have schumacher and alonso teammates.

^^^what?

Schumi as a driver in Ferrari? LOL he already retired in 2006... :D

interesting...

Schumacher to Miss Ferrari Pit Wall in China and Bahrain

Michael Schumacher will not be joining Ferrari during the upcoming 2 grands prix in China and Bahrain. According to a Ferrari spokesman, the 7-time world champion will not be present on the Scuderia pit wall as a technical advisor of the team until Formula 1's debut in Europe this season.
“He will not be at those races,” the Ferrari spokesman was quoted as saying by German newspaper Sport Bil.

The 40-year old German faced immense criticism from both the Italian and German media following the “tire incident” in the Malaysian Grand Prix last weekend. According to several reports – none of whom were official – Schumacher was the man responsible for Kimi Raikkonen's disastrous tire choice during the Sepang race.

When pitting for the first time during the Malaysian GP, the Fin's car was fitted with wet tires, despite the fact that the entire track was still dry. Ferrari were trying to look ahead, expecting the rain to start any minute. However, the tires were ruined after a couple of laps so, when the rain finally started pouring, Kimi had to make another pit stop to re-change the tires. It eventually cost him a points finish in Malaysia.

Shortly after the accusations on Schumacher arose, the German's manager Willi Weber insisted it was not his client who decided the tire strategy for the aforementioned race, but the Ferrari team. He insisted Schu's role with the Scuderia is purely complementary, as he is not part of the decision-making process within the team.

Schumacher was not convoked by Ferrari CEO Luca di Montezemolo to the “crisis meeting” held by the Scuderia shortly after the Malaysian Grand Prix. The main topic was team's disastrous start of the season.

damn, what a race! what a season so far

btw, an Italian newspaper did a poll on who the readers would like to see in a Ferrari. here are the results:
1. Fernando Alonso 42%
2. Robert Kubica 24,6%
3. Felipe Massa 18,8%
4. Kimi Raikkonen 8,9%
5. Lewis Hamilton 8,2%

i like the list, but i'd rather switch raikkonen with kubica...
i wonder what the results would look like if the Ferrari drivers start winning again :)

^ :(

Only 8,9 % want to see Kimi, almost the same as Hamilton, whaaaat?
I'm sure the list would look totally different if Ferrari started succeed again.

what a list???!!!! OMG! How could be Kimi successful if he hasn't got a good car???!!! Come on! They put all the responsibility on Kimi last year. How come they forgot it that Ferrari THE TEAM couldn't give a car to his liking. He tried his best, I'm sure.... :(

Nice video. He has such a lovely smile, I just can't help it but I start smiling every time I see Kimi smiling.. :) 2:38 "Hä? Hä?" LOL

I was in a restaurant with my friend yesterday and there came three boys to the table next to us and started talking about how McLaren sucks and Ferrari suck and that Kovalainen will never win anything, oh how I bite my tongue not to join their conversation and tell my heavy opinion about things

Yes, you are right, Kimi's smile is so sweet!

Here's another video (not mine) with Kimi's smile. What a coincidence, it was made by a Hungarian girl whose name is also Kinga :cheeky:

and she made another great one, look at Kimi's sexy butt at 1:35...:D

Could you please tell me what "Kimi on kunkku" means? I've seen the banner in this video

and they say they are Finnish Kimi fans at Hungaroring (with the same text on the banner):
