Aaaaawww thanks for the pics!! How can somebody be that adorable?
It's strange but I feel the same. Of course - because of his bad luck - I always cross my fingers for him, I don't want anything bad that could happen to him or his car.
Good that I'm not the only one :D

I think nowadays he drives with brain and safely, when he was at McLaren (especially in 2005) I was thinking... he might be crazy, flat out all the time. Sometimes I miss that "fighting Kimi" but I think since he became a world champion he knows that he doesn't have to prove anything just drive carefully and wisely and wait patiently for the good results. What do you think?

I think Hamilton does almost the same like Kimi did in McLaren (with young heart and soul) but a bit dangerously and not in that nice style IMO.
Yes
And because now Kimi knows he can do it ( win championship) and like you said he doesn't need to prove anything anymore.

Sometimes Hamilton is just insane and his driving is totally a mess up :D That's not what Kimi did. But hey, he's an iceman

I don't know. Sometimes he's like a little boy, you wanna hug him like a mother hugs her little boy, sometimes he's a masculine man, and he's sexy as hell and you want to kiss him all over.

He's the Iceman when it comes to driving, but he's mad, he's the "Hotman" :tease: when someone (a photographer for example) wants to get close to him  as he proved it last weekend.

Interview with Kimi at Hockenheim -

Kimi Raikkonen may not have had an answer for Lewis Hamilton's blistering pace over the first two days of the Hockenheim test, but the Finn was nonetheless satisfied with the set-up work Ferrari carried out ahead of the German Grand Prix. Speaking to reporters at the circuit, he also defended his actions in pushing over a photographer who he felt provoked him on the grid at the British Grand Prix.

Q: How has your work gone today? Kimi Raikkonen: Not too bad. We had a small issue with the car but we fixed it. We’re just trying different things on the set-up side and it seems to be working quite well so far.

Q: Are you confident you have found a good set-up?
KR: We will see at the race next weekend. We always try different things and if we find something useful for sure we are going to use it. But it’s always difficult to say how it is going in testing.
At least we know what we are doing and I’m pretty happy with how the car is feeling.

Q: McLaren have set the pace at this test; do you expect them to be particularly strong here?
KR: I don’t know. I haven’t looked at what lap times they are doing; we have enough work to do ourselves.
For sure McLaren will be fast here, but I think we have a good package too. We haven’t lost any speed – we just need a good clean weekend.

Q: They call you the ‘Ice Man’ but we saw you defending your privacy forcibly against a photographer on the grid at Silverstone…
KR: He came on top of my helmet, I had my stuff there, so I pushed him a bit and he fell on his back.
People try to make a big thing out of it, but he shouldn’t come on top of my stuff. It was just a small thing and people tried to make a big story out of it.
Q: Don’t you feel Ferrari is wasting the advantage it has over the other teams?
KR: I don’t know what you mean…

Q: I mean that the car has been really strong, but due to some incidents you have not scored the points that you probably expected…
KR: Of course we were not so happy with the results we got in the end, but we got back into the joint lead of the championship.
Probably we should have got more points but we made a mistake – it happens in racing. It’s not the first time and unfortunately it’s not going to be the last time, but it’s just part of the game and we need to learn from it.
We have a strong team, we’re pushing hard and people expect us to win every race but it’s not easy.
For sure we are going to start winning again soon and we’ll just keep working hard.

Q: McLaren tried a new shark fin engine cover here – aren't you curious to try it?
KR: I don’t want to try their parts! We do our own thing and we put effort into what we think are the key things.
We will see what we will do in the future, but like I said we are pretty happy with what we have done here trying different things.
I haven’t seen what McLaren are doing or even put any effort into that; we have our own things to look at and that’s much more important.

Q: Do you like driving at Hockenheim and does it suit the Ferrari?
KR: We are quite happy how things went today. Yesterday was more difficult due to the weather. The circuit is nice – I always enjoy it here – but it’s too early to say where we are against the others. But the feeling in the car is pretty good, which is always a nice sign.

There you have his answer to that incident with the photographer on the British Grand Prix's grid. Nothing serious happened - as I expected - people try to do big things from the small things. I was quite sure that it had to happen something otherwise Kimi wouldn't have done anything. He pushed him OK, but it wasn't a big push, just the photographer fell off his back. I'm sure Kimi doesn't interested in it anymore, he's trying to focus on his work which is the main thing.:) It's also nice that he feels comfortable in the car on this track and he didn't lose his optimistic and realistic mood.

Thanks for the interview ;)

And moving on is just the right thing to do.
I mean come on - one little tiny push and the media is crazy like he has hurt someone. It's just crazy that they have to turn all kinds of things so huge. But guess they have to earn money from somewhere..

and the photographer earns a lot of money from it. Maybe the world would know his name because of this and not because he's been an F1 photographer for 40 years.

Isn't it strange that he says that he was not closer to Kimi like any other times the photographers generally, still he pushed HIM over and not all the rest of the photographers who were around him. Cahier won't do anything because he knows that he's a bit guilty that this situation happened IMO. One other photographer who is a witness of this said that he saw that Cahier got too close to Kimi and Kimi reacted immediately. I think that he fell off because of that push shows that he surely got his knees on Kimi's stuff to take the photo, so he couldn't balance his body.

Imagine, some KR haters on Hungarian forums said that Kimi's eyes were full of anger, and were arrogant. Funny, because I find his eyes kinda sad on that photo. But not angry at all.

Another great one!

INTERVIEW BY JEREMY TAYLOR

How difficult was it for you to follow in the treadmarks of the
legendary Schumacher?
This is my second season with Ferrari and it was hard in the beginning.
The first season is always going to be tough. Everybody was new to me
but we still managed to win the Championship. This year is far better
because it is much easier to work with a team when you know what they
want. It's improving all the time and now the team and I have a good
relationship. But Michael won the title seven times; that's a really
tough act to follow.

Who do you see as your biggest rivals in 2008?
The strongest teams this year are BMW Sauber and McLaren Mercedes but
you just have to take it race by race. Teams are changing car set-ups
all the time and improving, so you also have to get better. It only
takes one slip and you can be out of a race. Some circuits are better
for certain teams, too. Lewis Hamilton and Nick Heidfeld won't make it
easy for me to win.

How is your relationship with British racing driver Lewis Hamilton?
Well, I pipped him to the post last year! But really the relationship
between the teams is much more tense than the relationship between the
drivers because there is a lot of politics and money involved. The
drivers race against each other but more or less everybody is a friend.
The bad things said in the press are not really true.

Why are the Finnish renowned as such competitive drivers?
Maybe it's the harsh countryside that we were brought up in. There have
been many rally champions, and this year Heikki Kovalainen is driving
well for McLaren. I'm the third Formula One champion after Keke Rosberg
and Mika Hakkinen. It's good to see Heikki, a fellow countryman, doing
so well---as long as I finish in front of him, of course!

Who are your sporting heroes?
I would like to have been around to race against James Hunt---an
exceptional driver who lived life to the full.

You're 28 now, how long will you continue with Formula One?
I will carry on as long as I enjoy it. There are a lot of pressures, but
driving a Ferrari race car is a dream for anybody. I always wanted to
drive a Ferrari when I was growing up so it was an incredible moment
when I started with them. Now I can drive any Ferrari I want!

How did you first get into competitive driving?
I came from a normal family; my father built roads and my mother was a
clerk. I started riding motorbikes then changed to karts when I was ten.
I loved working on the engines and that soon became a huge part of my
life. I didn't have much money to compete but was lucky enough to be
spotted.

Have you ever had a crash?
I drive very fast for a living and so have had a number of accidents on
the track. Fortunately, though, I've never had a crash on the road. I
take driving very seriously and I think there are many more dangers on
the road than out on the F1 tracks.

Räikkönen vows to honour Ferrari contract

Kimi Raikkonen has once again dismissed lingering speculation about his Formula One future.

New rumours this week suggest that former champion Fernando Alonso is indeed in the running for a Ferrari drive next year.

With Felipe Massa under contract until 2010, some observers have surmised that - following 28-year-old Raikkonen's recent musings about retirement - the Finn is perhaps the driver most likely to make room at Ferrari for Alonso.

But in an interview carried this week by La Gazzetta dello Sport, reigning world champion Raikkonen dismissed the gossip in the most strident of terms.

He insists he has a contract to keep racing with the Maranello-based team in 2009.

"I have not broken a contract in all my life:wub: (that's Kimi, no bullshit!!!), and I have no intention of doing so now," Raikkonen told his countryman and journalist Heikki Kulta.

"In 2009 I will be driving for Ferrari," he added emphatically. :clapping::clapping::clapping:

It's nice that he took part at that Press Conference. They thanked him a million times that he's a F1 driver, a young world champion who likes to drive fast and he's there to say that you better safe on the roads and fasten your seat belt. Wow, great managing! Better than Hamilton's, who takes part at parties all the time!

They showed a part of that conference in our sport news and they interviewed one young who was so thrilled to have met Kimi and have his autograph.

I liked it when he giggled at the question regarding how many speeding tickets he has got? :D I like his voice, it's lovely, great tune, I don't find it boring and I understand his words clearly. I don't get it why a lot of people are complaining about him "muttering"...

I bet I would have been so excited if I had been there... :)

you will be jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Imagine, what I've heard, I think it is not a rumour because our local newspaper has written it.

The opening ceremony of the Hungarian Grand Prix will be held only 30 kilometres from the town where I live.

They will tell everything about it in a press conference on the 22nd of July.

I can't wait for the news about it.

They say that Bernie and all the pilots will be here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

30 kilometres, only 30 kilometres!!!!

I will be there most definitely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D

Can you tell me what does it mean in Finnish that: Would you please give me an autograph?:cheeky:

I don't think I would see him (maybe from far far away, but it would be more than amazing), there will be hundreds of thousands of people, I'm sure... But I'll be there. Maybe there will be F1 cars (I don't think it would be Ferrari though) and maybe they will show some great driving...

OMG! I can't pronounce that sentence at all... If I had the chance I think I would say it in English instead...:D

I know that you speak the way you write, it sounds easy, but you have so long words :)

One girl that I know visited Finland once and said that you speak familiar like in Hungary we speak. The speed, the intonation, etc. sounds familiar she thinks. I know that Finnish language and Hungarian language both are members of the Finno-Ugric language family, and both are agglutinative languages (and that makes them hard to learn!!!).

Santander set for 2010 F1 team switch

Multiple sources and reports are now claiming that McLaren sponsor Santander is set to switch to Ferrari in 2010.

We reported last week that the speculated deal, worth up to 25 million Euros per season, could involve the driving services of former champion Fernando Alonso.

The daily newspaper Publico says Santander currently pays McLaren 20 million per year.

But following suggestions that Santander and Alonso may arrive at Maranello in 2009, however, a spokeswoman for the bank insists that its current contract with McLaren runs out only at the end of next year.

It is understood a contract between Ferrari and Santander has not yet been signed.

"The bank has always wanted to be with Alonso but the sponsorship contract was done with McLaren and not with Alonso," the spokeswoman said.

The Spanish newspaper ABC now reports: "(Santander) has already informed the team of Ron Dennis and has a deal with the Italians from 2010."

The business newspaper Expansion adds that "the new deal with the Spanish bank could coincide with Alonso leaving Renault to join (Ferrari)."

^ But.. but.. that can't be true?
Massa ain't leaving, Kimi definitely ain't leaving..?

If they want to make a contract with Alonso why don't just do a contract with Renault also?

^ But.. but.. that can't be true?
Massa ain't leaving, Kimi definitely ain't leaving..?

If they want to make a contract with Alonso why don't just do a contract with Renault also?

I don't know what to think about this, really.

I've heard some rumour about Massa being a test driver for one year in 2009, so Kimi-Alonso, and from 2010 when Kimi might retiring, there will be the Massa-Alonso driver line up.

If this is true then I think the one has to leave, it can't be Kimi... I still think that he's much more better driver than Massa. Massa's strenghts is the qualifying (but now the results so far 5 for Massa and 4 for Kimi, so it's not that bad), I think because he's about 10 kilograms lighter than Kimi. That counts by one lap but then look at the race pace, Massa can't beat Kimi...

I don't think Santander wants to give money for a team where there isn't Alonso... for one more year... This year they are the sponsors of the McLaren team, where they don't have Alonso anymore, next year for Ferrari, and there won't be Alonso... or there will be...

Oh My God!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe this???!!! If this is true, then I think I didn't know Schumacher at all... it's really surprising and shocking to me...

Massa the reson I retired - Schumacher

Nearly two years after announcing his retirement as a Formula One driver, Michael Schumacher has cited his former team-mate Felipe Massa as a primary reason for hanging up his racing helmet.

"I stopped because I didn't want my friend Felipe Massa to be unemployed," the Swiss newspaper Blick quotes the seven time world champion as saying.

"I would have had no problem going up against Kimi Raikkonen," Schumacher adds, refuting the common claim that he objected to having the Finn as his 2007 team-mate.

I've heard some rumour about Massa being a test driver for one year in 2009, so Kimi-Alonso, and from 2010 when Kimi might retiring, there will be the Massa-Alonso driver line up.
Ohhh... I keep everything possible crossed from my hair to my toes, I don't want it to be Kimi-Alsonso :mello:

It's definitely Massa who's leaving IF someone is leaving. He can't handle the pressure.

I don't know what to think about this. These rumours have been circulating around all the time... We'll see what happens sooner or later. (One thing is quite sure, that if someone is related with Ferrari, then he'll become one day a Ferrari driver... It was true for Kimi and it will be true for Alonso and for Kubica. Who knows? Maybe in 2 years' time there could be a Kubica-Alonso driver line-up at Ferrari...) I don't want to stress too much about it. I even can't handle the pressure what a GP weekend gives me... I can't wait for the actual following GP and when it comes I'm more than nervous. :D Now because of they say that it will be some rain during this weekend in Germany. I don't want another rainy GP. Since Kimi and we all know that Ferrari is better in hot weather. Plus at the rainy race everything can turn around.

It's really strange to me that Schumi said it now, almost 2 years after his retirement's statement. What does this mean? I don't get it. Is it good or bad for Massa or for Kimi?
