This is what MJ...a person that went through a very long period where he felt hated…said about love. He said this a little while before he released “Invincible” in 2001.
"If you enter this world knowing you are loved and you leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with. A professor may degrade you, but you will not feel degraded, a boss may crush you, but you will not be crushed, a corporate gladiator might vanquish you, but you will still triumph.
How could any of them truly prevail in pulling you down? For you know that you are an object worthy of love. The rest is just packaging. But if you don’t have that memory of being loved, you are condemned to search the world for something to fill you up. But no matter how much money you make or how famous you become, you will still feel empty. What you are really searching for is unconditional love, unqualified acceptance."
The above are MJ’s very own words about love and what love can do. Within these words, he has explained what he has been searching for.
As we are here deciphering his love songs, we must also remember that he has made it clear that he is a recording artist that only sings what he means. Also, please know that after MJ completed his speech where he said what is quoted above, he broke down and cried uncontrollably. No one was able to console him. He was overtaken by his unhappiness. He couldn’t hold it back anymore.
While keeping all of this in mind, let’s look at the way that he went through the trial. Isn’t it true that he wasn’t smiling during the time that “Invincible” was released, but he was smiling during the trial? Isn’t it true that he looked deeply depressed during the time that his album was released, but he was energetic during the trial, except for when he got to the very, very end?
Why would a person that was crying before even being put through such agony be smiling while he is fighting for his life? How is it that a person that looked deeply depressed before even being put through such agony be glowing while he was fighting for his life?
Can it be because he was experiencing the very type of love that he had been searching for, for so long and truly needed in order to make it through his darkest hour? What else could it have been?
There are three love songs that MimiK has listed under the “Invincible” recording sessions that MJ did not put on “Invincible.” These three love songs were started just prior to the release of “Invincible,” so they actually could have been included if MJ wanted to include them, but he didn’t. Two were started in the late 1990’s and one was started in 2000. By leaving these three love songs off of the album, it became an album where MJ was mainly expressing his unhappiness. The three love songs that were excluded are love songs that sound serene and they are “Fall Again,” “Beautiful Girl” and “The Way You Love Me.”
These three love songs that were not placed on the “Invincible” album in 2001, were instead released with “The Ultimate Collection” box set in 2004. The year 2004, is when MJ was in fact going through the trial, and it was not a time that one would expect him to be showing signs of happiness, but he was. His very own demeanor in 2004, and the way that he decided to release these serene sounding love songs, confirms what he said above about what love can do.
No one can look back at the year 2004 and say MJ was not being put through something that was meant to make him feel degraded, crushed and vanquished. And, after reading what he said love can do, and looking at what he came through, can anyone say he did not know what he was talking about? By him wanting to release these three serene sounding love songs in 2004, rather than in 2001, shows he meant it at the time that he put them out. Love had come into his life and someone brought it. In “The Way You Love Me,” he said she came in time.
The following is information pulled from “The Ultimate Collection” booklet about the love songs titled, “Fall Again,” “Beautiful Girl,” and “The Way You Love Me.”

In addition to MJ releasing the above three love songs, he had also recorded and released “One More Chance” in 2003. It is a song about taking another chance at love.
So now, we have him releasing a love song that is about taking another chance at love and him later releasing three love songs the following year that are about being in love with someone. Plus, his overall demeanor is proving his words that are quoted above, he was starting to look vibrant again, and he was smiling and laughing again.
With all of this, and hearing him repeating the words “I’m in love with you,” can we really try to believe that he doesn’t know who he is in love with? Can any of us really override his words or try to muffle what he is saying? How can we do that when the way that he pulled through the trial while displaying his love for someone is proving exactly what he said in his speech? What he said was actually being done.
There are other songs, aside from the above, that show he knows exactly who he is serenading and he means exactly what he is saying.
This love song, which was leaked onto the Internet in 2006, further proves he was in love during the trial. It is the song titled “Love Never Felt So Good.” This is not the one that was recorded by Johnny Mathis, although MJ and two other people wrote it for Johnny to record. This one that appeared on the Internet 2006 is MJ’s actual demo. He’s the one singing in it.

Look at this verse:
Baby, I should try to get you
More and more in my life
‘Cause when I’m with you
Baby love never felt so good
It’s all right there… How can it feel good, if it’s not there.
Notice that he’s saying he wants to try and get her more and more in his life. In “Fall Again,” he said the words, “I need your love in my life.” In “The Way You Love Me” he had said, “I was alone, there was no love in my life. I was afraid of life and you came in time.”
Do you see how he keeps referring to his life and wanting her in it? How can love feel good to him and at the same time not be coming from somewhere? And how could something that is not real pull him through a trial? A mere dream was not going to sustain him while he was going through something as grueling as that trial. But, true love that he could feel could do so. He had to be able to feel it and believe in it in order for it to do what he needed it to do.
So now, there is “One More Chance” that he released in 2003, “Fall Again,” “Beautiful Girl,” and “The Way You Love Me” that he released in 2004, his “Love Never Felt So Good” demo that appeared out of nowhere in 2006, and then there is also “For All Time” that he worked on and released on 2008.
“For All Time” also has a line in it that says the love is good. The line goes, “For this good love I’m receiving, I’d go anywhere.” Some of us were thinking he was saying “For this good love I’m receiving.” Some of us were thinking he was saying, “For this good love undeceiving,” but no matter which one it is, one thing is for sure and that is that he said it is, “good love.” Those two words…good love…tie right into “Love Never Felt So Good.”
Here is the man that was feeling deeply hated now saying he is experiencing love that is good. And when you look back at pictures of him, you can see that he is happy about something. When you listen to him you can hear that he is happy about something. What is the topic of the songs? The topic is about being in love.
There is also a song that he actually wrote during the trial itself where he says, “Your true love showed me the way…the way I had to go.”
Now, we’re seeing that him saying…back during the trial…that her true love showed him the way, he’s calling the love good, he’s looking vibrant again, he’s smiling and laughing again, his tears have stopped flowing, he came out triumphant, and all of this has proven what he said during this speech in 2001.
So, how can we possibly think he doesn’t know when he is in love? How can some say these are just songs, while also knowing he said he only sings what he means and seeing that he brought out and worked on songs that he had originally put away? And, that the songs are proving the point that he was making in his speech.
Something real cannot be proven with something that is not real. It won’t happen. But, if he said love is what could pull a person though things that are meant to pull someone down, and he came through something really tough before the eyes of the entire world that was specifically set up to pull him down, but it couldn’t, then it is because he had love in his life at the time.
If some still think he doesn’t know who he is in love with, there is the song “Hold My Hand” to look at. The words show he knows exactly who he is serenading. In this song he says the following:
This life don't last forever
(Hold my hand)
So tell me what we're waiting for
(Hold my hand)
We’re better off being together
(Hold my hand)
Than being miserable alone
(Hold my hand)
‘Cause I’ve been there before
And you've been there before
But together we can be alright
‘Cause when it gets dark
And when it gets cold
We hold each other
Till we see the sunlight
How can he say things that shows he knows what she has been through if he doesn’t know who he is serenading? He know exactly who his words are meant for. In “For All Time” he is revealing that he wants his words to keep her happy. He also knows that she is showing him love, because he can feel it. He’s been holding on to it. He just wants the rest that comes with it. That's what he is saying. Having it helped him to deal with what he was going through. It proved his point.
