So... I made two big bowls full and now my kids are eating it. Good thing too. I only had three handfuls (only..lol) I put too many kernels in the pot with some vegetable oil and then cooked it while shaking it till it was all popped, half way through I had to empty it cause it was full. One bowl has butter, seasoning salt and Franks red hot sauce. The other I melted butter, brown sugar, honey with a dash of vanilla and drizzled it over and sprinkled some salt on it. It's popcorn for supper tonight.. supper and dessert in front of a movie. Hopefully the process of making it (and those handfuls) is enough to satisfy me.
Sorry for anyone wanting to read about what this thread topic is about. How about I make up a story for you all?
So once upon a time there was a King who went by the name of Michael Jackson. He was feeling particularly lonely one day and had almost given up on finding a lady to love, though he still loved the ladies. He had many women he adored in his life each for different reasons, but none who were completely what he was looking for. So he enjoyed their friendship, though at times it seemed to be like natures cruel joke that he was surrounded by wonderful and beautiful woman, and like the prince with the glass slipper, none of them fit quite right.
He had stopped physically looking for his Cinderella and instead filled his days with fun and frolic around the castle grounds. He often would invite the commoners to his kingdom to play and had a soft heart for those who were ill. King Michael and his kingdom contained a magic that could cure any ailments, some completely, and some only for a brief time. His voice was likened to that of an angels and could be heard throughout the land. Michael would sing when he was happy and unable to contain his joy, he would sing when sorrow filled deep down to his very core.
One day while the King was out for his evening walk, he chanced upon maiden laying down by the stream looking into it. This beautiful lady was oblivious to his presence and was captivated by something in the water. This was a place the King often found himself drawn to. Whenever he'd go out for an evening stroll, his feet would take him here while his mind was off in some other land. This evening his feet brought him exactly where his mind could not resist being. To a beautiful enchanting lady by the stream. He wasn't sure he wanted to break this spell by speaking, so he quietly observed her while she watched the water. Entranced by this scene, he wondered what she could be thinking. She must have a wonderful imagination to be able to be so still just looking out into the water.
She reached out beside her to grab a leaf and a stick, and propped up on her elbows she proceeded to build a miniature sailboat. Once it had been completed she set it down in a pool of water that had trickled off to the side of the stream, and she blew it out till it was caught up by the moving water of the stream, and whisked away in the direction of the King. He didn't want to be seen so he quietly and quickly jumped behind a tree. It was a good thing he was so agile or she'd have surely seen and heard him. After this King Michael felt he must leave before she noticed him there watching. So while she turned to make another boat, he snuck away back to the castle. This lovely maiden on his mind the whole while.
To be continued? lol

Hell yeah. Chocolate-covered, CARAMEL popcorn!! LOL!! opcorn:
OMG, Linda!!! You're EVIL!!!!! :mello:    Don't cha know some people are actually TRYING to stay away from all that...you're not making it easy!!! Now I want CHOCOLATE!!! AAAAAHHH!!!!
Heh heh heh...I know...doesn't that want to make you go out to Ghirardellis or Lindt or Dove and melt some chocolate over your caramel corn or what?? Hey, I am on Weight Watchers myself - lost 27 pounds so far - but I can still dream in chocolate can't I?
Is this from a fictional stand point? I ask because just because a person sings such songs convincingly it doesn't mean they have experienced what is in them. I don't think he was singing from experience then. I think he was set on focusing on his careerwith the hope of marrying and having a family in the far future like a lot of people do so young. Just sharing my thoughts and hope it doesn't come across harshly.

If I had not been checking out MJ and listening to him sing from the time he was singing love songs as a kid on up to now, I just may go along with what you are saying. Is this from a fictional stand point? But, since I have been watching MJ since he was a little kid singing ABC, I clearly remember when he went from singing about puppy love to singing about sex. The way he's singing about it in the late '70's show he knows exactly what he is talking about. He's not singing about it like he was getting the information from another person and trying to create it based on some verbal instructions. He's singing about it like he knows first hand. And as he makes each album going forward, you can hear the progression.
Also, the people in the music industry know about MJ's multiple lady friends. I know a person from the music industry that also know about MJ's women.
Everything MJ does with music is not about shaping his career only. His actual life was and is happening too.
One side of him likes to kid around and have water balloon fights and things. The other side of him likes spending time with women and it didn't just start when his kids were being born. It started way before that time.
Sure there are 30 year old virgins, but MJ wasn't one of them. He was very direct while singing about sex. Actually, if you listen to "Baby Be Mine" on the "Thriller" album which is the album he put out right after "Off The Wall," you will notice that at the end of this song at 4:15 he said "Be with mine."ofcourse he knew about it, like everone does when they become more adult! But it doesent meen that he had a secret lady in he's life.
There is virgins aged above 30, and don't tell me that they have never seen what sex is about.. It's also an instinctual thing. You know by instinct what you want to do and dont sexually.

What? .. *throwing a popcorn at your head*
Well, MJ isn't shy when it comes to singing about it. It's one of his favorite subjects. Play any one of his solo albums and there it is in stereo. He loves women.Yes with that virgin stuff I did'nt meen that MICHAEL was a virgin when he was 30 (I would never discuss such a thing!!) I just ment that you doesent need to be "doing it" with someone to know how you like it ya know what I meen.. Nevermind! I don't want to discuss this subject so closely as it's embearassing to speak about

Yeah, he does express a lot of sexiness all the time. The sex appeal came around the "Off The Wall" era and then it continued on from there.haha  and besides that he express a lot of sexyness all the time..... ~makes me feel like uh.. oooOOUUUUHH!~ (favorite intro of all he's songs!! :wild: ... yea yea I know it's about music but STILL.. :mello: Sorry to say it in this thread but he was damn hot in that video! Now stop girl nomore of this nonsense please!!! ..... I wish my boyfriend would make me a song like that with he's guitar :lol
Yeah, he does express a lot of sexiness all the time. The sex appeal came around the "Off The Wall" era and then it continued on from there.
Also, if you really pay close attention, you will notice that during the "Invincible" era many of his love songs were about trying to get his love life back in order and if you look at photos of him that are from that period in time, you will notice that he looks like he is really feeling down. He was also breaking down in tears on that album and he also openly cried in front of people while doing a speech around the time "Invincible" was released.
I've been a fan for a very long time and I'm telling you, MJ did not used to cry in front of people the way he did during his 2001 Oxford speech. He never did that. 2001 was the first time I had ever read anything were he was hurting that much and opening displaying the hurt in front of the eyes of an audience. And I'm talking about crying his eyes out. Tears streaming.
See, so there he is crying painful tears during a recording session and crying painful tears outside of the recording session and both occurred around the same time period.
He wasn't doing that as a way to focus on his career. This song that he was crying in was about losing someone he's in love with. That speech that he did in front of an audience was about the same subject. It was about the lack of love. People were trying to console him and couldn't.
Now, notice that just before the release of "Number Ones" he starts looking more upbeat. He was starting to smile again in 2002. We listen to "One More Chance" and it is about taking one more chance at love. He works on love songs while going through the court stuff. He actually wrote a love song while going through the court stuff. He was glowing while going through the court stuff.
The court stuff is now over. He's has released a song that says, "When I say I love you, baby you gotta know, that's for all time.
How does he look right now? He is glowing again and smiling more than ever. He was smiling while go through court, except on days when he physically did not feel well.
Again, what song did he release in 2003 before the court stuff hit him? It was a song about being in love. And now he's even released a song called "Got The Hots" and in "Girl Is Mine 2008" there's a rap piece about peeling off jeans like a tangerine.
He's in that sexy mood again. It's back and it's back while he is clearly focusing his attention on a woman.
Also, I didn't mean "Girl Is Mine 2008," I meant "P.Y.T. 2008."
Interesting you should mention The Girl Is Mine 2008, ALLfroMJ.
I think we can all agree that MJ's lady friend is very lucky to have had possibly songs and specific song lyrics to be all about her. Many female fans I am sure, if asked if any MJ love song could be about them, they would enthusiastically come up with one, and perhaps dream a little that it could be true. Probably there are several lyrics or a particular line that seems so romantic to one, that, oh my gosh...to actually have had that be something he wrote with you in his heart at the time...that would be something else. Right, girls?
But, if I could choose a song, or even lyrics, that I think that well of that could be about me...it wouldn't even be a song or lyric...it would be notes of expression coming passionately from his being. I think it is the passion that lies deep within me, that connects so very much with something like which takes place in the The Girl is Mine 2008...and I haven't had the same reaction to his adlibbing before...in other songs, only here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7z8OVOaux5E&feature=related
It starts at around 2:26, but it is the sustained note at 2:37 that resonates somewhere deep inside of me...like cuts to my soul.
*laughs* But I hardly think MJ is thinking of a gal when he is in the studio responding to music like that...he's just doing his thing and doing amazingly with the gifting God has given him in music.
I look forward to more of this, though, on his new material. I want to feel more passion like that.
It was an amazing note.
PS: So. Cal just experienced an earthquake. Let's hope MJ is not too spooked by it. I was in my back yard. It certainly could be felt. I'm going to check on the magnitude now...
PSS: Oh, lucky me. My own city was the epicenter. No wonder why it felt so jolting. MJ probably didn't feel much where he is, which is good.
What? .. *throwing a popcorn at your head*
Don't you agree? You can't even go to the kiosk for a piece of bubblegum without being flooded with magazines and stuff. You follow?
I guess that was what your scratching was about? Because it's very obvious that it's an insticntual thing.. How would monkeys know how to do it if it was'nt?
Anyway lets keep the dignity here!!.. No more of this embearassing talk just because of me having to point out that he did'nt neceseary have a SECRET FIANCAY in he's life just because he was singing about sexual stuff!
Well, I wouldn't call it "fiction", I like to call it "faction".
Hell yeah. Chocolate-covered, CARAMEL popcorn!! LOL!! opcorn:
