^I am so happy that that popcorn looks disgusting to me today. (had overdose last night so I'm all good today. Yesterday I'd have been drooling over that photo).
Anyone can add to my side story if they wish. This can be like the subplot to this thread. An analogy to what may have happened.
In our last episode, our hero King Michael had found a beautiful maiden by the stream. He watched her like some people watch wildlife, not to disturb the natural happenings. Then he stole away back to the castle unnoticed.
Part deux:
King Michael sat in his throne thinking of this lovely lady. He had not seen her around the castle grounds before, nor in any other part of the kingdom. Where had she come from? Who was she? Would he see her again?
He got up from his throne and paced the across the castle floor plotting a meeting with this lady. He simply had to get to know her. But how? Her garb suggests she could be a commoner but there was something slightly different about this girl and her garments. They were made of plain fabric but instead of the drab greys and dull beige/browns, hers was a magnificently coloured garment covered in magenta and blue and purple and yellow. The commoners of the grounds did not have access to dyed cloth and he had never seen such richly coloured cloth, not even among royalty.
He could dress as a poor pauper, but that may not attract her attention, which he wanted in order to get to know her. He could pose as a shepherd caring for his flock, but he might appear incompetent for lack of experience, which he could not chance. Maybe a minstrel to lure her with lyrics towards him. Yes that could work. His voice and song and lyrics could be the way to get close to her without her knowing he is the King, but she might recognize his voice, as everyone in the kingdom knew the kings voice. Even though he was certain she was not from his land, he could not be certain that she'd not heard his song and been informed that this was the Kings own voice echoing throughout the land.
Perhaps he could just be himself, dressed in common cloth. If a song happened to escape his lips, she'd surely not believe it was the King himself. Yes this could be the way to come to know her without the possibility of intimidation by his stature.
But would he find her again?

If I had not been checking out MJ and listening to him sing from the time he was singing love songs as a kid on up to now, I just may go along with what you are saying.
But, since I have been watching MJ since he was a little kid singing ABC, I clearly remember when he went from singing about puppy love to singing about sex. The way he's singing about it in the late '70's show he knows exactly what he is talking about. He's not singing about it like he was getting the information from another person and trying to create it based on some verbal instructions. He's singing about it like he knows first hand. And as he makes each album going forward, you can hear the progression.
Also, the people in the music industry know about MJ's multiple lady friends. I know a person from the music industry that also know about MJ's women.
Everything MJ does with music is not about shaping his career only. His actual life was and is happening too.
One side of him likes to kid around and have water balloon fights and things. The other side of him likes spending time with women and it didn't just start when his kids were being born. It started way before that time.
ofcourse he knew about it, like everone does when they become more adult! But it doesent meen that he had a secret lady in he's life. It would'nt be a suprise if he have had girlfriends that the media did'nt know about.. but that doesent meen that it's a secret girl that he's still with or something far out like that
I don't think that every girl/man that any celeb would fall in love with or make out with, would be known to the world. And where talking 70-80's where the media was'nt so focussed on things like that as much as the hair-fashion of the stars you know

Sure there are 30 year old virgins, but MJ wasn't one of them. He was very direct while singing about sex. Actually, if you listen to "Baby Be Mine" on the "Thriller" album which is the album he put out right after "Off The Wall," you will notice that at the end of this song at 4:15 he said "Be with mine."ofcourse he knew about it, like everone does when they become more adult! Yes with that virgin stuff I did'nt meen that MICHAEL was a virgin when he was 30 (I would never discuss such a thing!!) Well, MJ isn't shy when it comes to singing about it. It's one of his favorite subjects. Play any one of his solo albums and there it is in stereo. He loves women.

Also, if you really pay close attention, you will notice that during the "Invincible" era many of his love songs were about trying to get his love life back in order and if you look at photos of him that are from that period in time, you will notice that he looks like he is really feeling down. He was also breaking down in tears on that album and he also openly cried in front of people while doing a speech around the time "Invincible" was released.
I've been a fan for a very long time and I'm telling you, MJ did not used to cry in front of people the way he did during his 2001 Oxford speech. He never did that. 2001 was the first time I had ever read anything were he was hurting that much and opening displaying the hurt in front of the eyes of an audience. And I'm talking about crying his eyes out. Tears streaming.
See, so there he is crying painful tears during a recording session and crying painful tears outside of the recording session and both occurred around the same time period.
He wasn't doing that as a way to focus on his career. This song that he was crying in was about losing someone he's in love with. That speech that he did in front of an audience was about the same subject. It was about the lack of love. People were trying to console him and couldn't.
Now, notice that just before the release of "Number Ones" he starts looking more upbeat. He was starting to smile again in 2002. We listen to "One More Chance" and it is about taking one more chance at love. He works on love songs while going through the court stuff. He actually wrote a love song while going through the court stuff. He was glowing while going through the court stuff.
The court stuff is now over. He's has released a song that says, "When I say I love you, baby you gotta know, that's for all time.
How does he look right now? He is glowing again and smiling more than ever. He was smiling while go through court, except on days when he physically did not feel well.
Again, what song did he release in 2003 before the court stuff hit him? It was a song about being in love. And now he's even released a song called "Got The Hots" and in "Girl Is Mine 2008" there's a rap piece about peeling off jeans like a tangerine.
He's in that sexy mood again. It's back and it's back while he is clearly focusing his attention on a woman.

Interesting you should mention The Girl Is Mine 2008, ALLfroMJ.
I think we can all agree that MJ's lady friend is very lucky to have had possibly songs and specific song lyrics to be all about her. Many female fans I am sure, if asked if any MJ love song could be about them, they would enthusiastically come up with one, and perhaps dream a little that it could be true. Probably there are several lyrics or a particular line that seems so romantic to one, that, oh my gosh...to actually have had that be something he wrote with you in his heart at the time...that would be something else. Right, girls?
But, if I could choose a song, or even lyrics, that I think that well of that could be about me...it wouldn't even be a song or lyric...it would be notes of expression coming passionately from his being. I think it is the passion that lies deep within me, that connects so very much with something like which takes place in the The Girl is Mine 2008...and I haven't had the same reaction to his adlibbing before...in other songs, only here:

Is it pitched up? Or did he really hit that note? Amazing voice if so.. Exspecially because it's without "gain". Without stomach muscles you know. Then it can be really hard to hit a note as high as this for a man. But ofcourse - Michaels voice is a tad lighter than the average male voice.
It was an amazing note.
PS: So. Cal just experienced an earthquake. Let's hope MJ is not too spooked by it. :hug: I was in my back yard. It certainly could be felt. I'm going to check on the magnitude now...
PSS: Oh, lucky me. My own city was the epicenter. No wonder why it felt so jolting. MJ probably didn't feel much where he is, which is good.

Well, I wouldn't call it "fiction", I like to call it "faction".
I would call it "faction" also. I believe that MJ is looking for his one and only lady love. He may have come across her at one time in his life, purely by accident. He saw her, and wanted to know her better. He may have even stayed in that one area for a while (the area he met her in), scoping out the things she does during a typical day. He somehow wanted to get close to her....trying to find ways to do this...He saw just how blessedly ordinary a person she was, but yet not so ordinary....He saw someone that triggered something inside of him so much, he just couldn't get his mind off of her...He may spend the rest of his life chasing that dream lady. I just hope that she is the right one for him.
Reminds me of this scene from "Pride & Prejudice" (cause this is what is happening in this love story):
