Dateline NBC tonight, 9pm E.T with Rabbi Boteach's tapes

And may I add - this is an invasion of privacy and I will be letting Rabbi Boteach, NBC and any other places that promotes this book know how I feel. I have not watched the show nor read the transcript (because of the privacy issues) but it would be interesting to know if NBC asked for proof this consent to be taped. Did they ask Boteach when last he spoke to Michael to be able to make an assessment of his state of mind? Did anyone at Dateline challenge this deceitful, unscruplous, small-minded, judgemental half-wit?

Thankfully, intelligent people who may have seen this programme would look at the footage of TII and think 'hmm... did not want to live ... hmm ...'

I am on Boteach's case. Not because of his personal views. We are all entitled to those (even if they are ill-informed, narrow-minded and mean-spirited) but on the larger issue of privacy and respect for the individual, I cannot countenance Boteach's behaviour. None of us should because none of us would want this to happen to anyone we loved.

This really makes me wish that Katherine and the family would start dropping lawsuits on people like this. These bastards would maybe think twice.

Whos post blog? the rabbis?

the fake rabbi.

He gave a half quote to the uk tabloid. They ran with MJ love hitler ....that story was all over the net, radio tv this morning.

The press had a field day with it...he waited until the story has been around the world before he released the full quote on his huffpo blog. Pathetic.

several fans left messages on his website, and sent email to NBC

Absolutely! NBC should come clean on whether or not they KNEW if Boteach had obtained permission. It's even possible these tapes were done without Michael's knowledge! This is an incredible violation! SHAME!

I posted this on another thread, since moved to the Tabloid Section. This is long, but it's better to be armed with facts than take things at what might seem to be face-value. In my opinion, Boteach defrauded Michael on the Heal the Kids foundation, by taking most of the donations for his personal salary. If any of the money goes to any charity, I'll eat my fedora (if I had a fedora?).

(I'm sorry Susie. . but Michael would NOT be proud of Boteach's giving money to charity, because he's NOT GOING TO!")

If you really want to KNOW about this awful man, read here:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,73709,00.html

Samuel Freedman, a good reporter, writer and author of interesting books, evidently was sold a bill of goods on Boteach. His report on Shmuley's WWRL radio show with Peter Noel made it sound like Michael Jackson's onetime rabbi was on the up and up.

But readers of this column know otherwise. Back on May 23, 2001, we revealed the truth about the "Kosher Sex" rabbi who started a bogus charity with Jackson.

To this day there has no been no accounting for the money Boteach and Jackson raised for their Time for Kids/Heal the World Foundation. Indeed, the event they held on Feb. 14, 2001, at Carnegie Hall — a symposium on children — has never turned up in tax returns.

London newspapers reported that Boteach was ousted from the L'Chaim Society of Oxford University for mismanagement of funds. (He allegedly used money from the charity to maintain a lavish home. Boteach insisted it was his right to do so.) He was also reportedly banned from having a pulpit in the U.K., although during our conversation last year he denied that.

The New York Times also didn't bother to look into the infamous L'Chaim Society, Boteach's New York charity.

The most recent tax return available, which covers all of 2000, states that the New York edition of L'Chaim Society took in $203,185 in donations but paid out $240,164 "for administration." There are no funds listed for "Program Services."

In May 2001, this column discovered quite a lot about the so-called Oxford L'Chaim Society of New York, which has nothing whatsoever to do with Oxford University in Great Britain.

I wrote: "In 1999, the British government criticized (Boteach's) L'Chaim Society of Oxford, London and Cambridge — an organization that was supposed to support and promote Jewish thinking and life on the Oxford campus — when they discovered that Shmuley (his name is Shmuel but he loves the nickname) had been dipping into the funds.

In an e-mail to the Oxford Union, Sonia Tugwell of the Charity Commission wrote on January 8, 2001: "In August 1999, the Charity Commission opened an inquiry under section 8 of the Charities Act 1993 into the L'Chaim Independent Charitable Trust as a result of concerns that the charity's funds were being misapplied.

"The inquiry established that a number of apparent inappropriate payments were regularly being made by the founder of the charity, Rabbi Boteach and his wife. Fundraising costs and administrative expenses were high in relation to relatively low charitable expenditure.

"As a result of the inquiry, in March last year, the trustees of the charity, after taking appropriate legal advice, reached an agreement with the Boteaches. The result of this was that a sum was paid by them to the charity. The trustees of the charity decided to wind up the charity and the London and Oxford offices were closed last year with our approval. It was agreed that the assets of the Cambridge Society would be transferred to another trust. If there are any funds remaining after outstanding liabilities have been paid, these will be given to other charitable causes similar to those supported by the L'Chaim Independent Charitable Trust."

An article dated June 1, 1998, in the London Daily Telegraph clearly states: "Ah Shmuley. The shame, the disgrace. (He's been) publicly reproached by Elkin Levy, president of the United Synagogues; forced to resign from the synagogue in Willesden where he preaches, accused of conduct unbecoming, bringing the rabbinate into disrepute." The resignation was apparently in response to the publication of Boteach's controversial book, "Kosher Sex," which has been a bestseller and was excerpted in Playboy.

"It seems funny to me," said a source at the Oxford Union, "that the headquarters for the L'Chaim Society of Oxford is in New York."

Frustrated by the lack of information from Boteach's office, I subsequently wrote another story on Feb. 18, 2002, stating that Boteach's tax-free foundation in the United States is alled Oxford L'Chaim Society, implying a tie to the prestigious British university.

I also wrote that the L'Chaim Society's 1999 public tax filing shows that the charity took in $300,000. Of that amount, $160,000 went to "management" and $122,000 was sent as a lump-sum donation to the L'Chaim Society of Cambridge, the other top British university.

But, of course, representatives of the Cambridge Society swore to me last year that they hadn't heard from Boteach in a long time. Certainly they didn't mention a huge donation, and neither did Boteach.

Even so, more than half the money collected by Boteach in 1999 went to salaries. Less than half was donated to charity. Just in case you were wondering.

Mmmm....Most intriguing...

thank you for the post VIC...it was very informative.....now i just hope fans dont run out and buy the book thinking the money will go to charity......That Rabbi makes me sick....Using Michael's name to try and make money.....again...

I pray to God that joe die the most slow and painful death possible along with everyone who allowed that shit to happen in that house .

What Joe did was wrong no doubt, but be careful what you pray sometimes praying for something bad to happen to someone else can actually turn back on you...

The stuff about him being a black man, being world famous and then the press turning on him and the stuff about the types of songs he writes was very candid. Mike was complex as all human beings are, but so far, this is showing a different side of him that casual fans may not know.

I don't fuck with the rabbi dude tho

The only surprise to me was the elaboration on how Joe "disciplined" his kids. Now I'm convinced fully it went far beyond mere spankings & Joe's estrangement was well deserved. Until I heard more members of the family elaborated I wasn't going to condemn him. The details in these tapes spell it out clearly. Joe went too far with the spankings & more importantly not only didn't show love outwardly which is common but spoke to his kids as if he resented them. THAT'S unexcusable.

STILL, it seems like Joe was trying to make up for his poor parenting of the past & Michael has forgiven him. I'm not gonna spend time digging up the past to damn Joe or Katherine or the rest of the family.

Most of the rest of the stuff including Michael's views on breaking boundaries as a Black man was obvious to me & no surprise. That's why I could always look past his nose surgeries to know that they were done not out of wanting to not be Black but some deep rooted self-image issues in general.

How can he not know he was loved & why couldn't he know that it wasn't necessary to do what he did to be loved? Then again, if he didn't do these things would most of these posters even be here right now typing? Every star must ask that question.

Guess they won't leave him alone even on death....I mean how many times do we have to hear these stupid stuff, not to say that what Michael is saying is stupid, but there is no need for this, people already know how Michael feels on certain topics. Rabbi needs to crawl under a rock. Fucking pathetic.

Michael said he really and truly believed his true fans loved him unconditionally. He said it may have started out admiring his skill, but he believes his fans got to know him and they truly understood him and the most loyal fans on the earth. He feels we were his family.

I SINCERELY hope fans do NOT buy this book! Given Boteach's history, it's doubtful that much, if any, of the proceeds will go to any charity. If you must, get a used copy on Amazon, or get it from a library. For God's sake! (in my opinion) the man is a crook who violated Michael's privacy.

i think this man is projecting what he thinks Michael felt, because some people think they would be that way if they were in Michael's shoes. and i think the man got someone to imitate Michael's voice, like i said before. there's no video.

I'm not saying that MJ wasn't in great pain. I believe we all put him through great pain, one time or another in his life...but i don't believe the twisting that this man is putting out there. i refer to him as this man, because i'm too lazy to spell his name..

i just have a hard time believing that MJ wanted to indirectly, or directly kill himself. He always spoke of having faith to lean on, and this man inexplicably leaves that out. Of course, there's the song 'Keep The Faith'. Not that we had the right to hurt him, because we didn't have that right.

yeah..he always did say that he loved us fans....you could jsut see the sincerity in his eyes when he said it......then there is Rabbi....saying to Michael...get rid of your fans they are enablers. yeah yeah......We stuck by him not matter what ....look what Rabbi is doing......need I say more.

Okay, he believes he could have gotten through to Hitler and help him.

He described kathering as a saint, like Mother Teresa.

He also said women were very materilistic and can sometimes make men unhappy. He says women are manipulative and dissapointing.

Lisa Marie: promised him that they would have children, then after they got married she changed her mind. He felt betrayed by her.

he liked the way princess Diana made her kids wait in line at amusement parks. He said Princess Diana was his type.

tatum o neil : he loved when she held his hand and he felt loved when she did that.(look at littlesparrow's quote)

Brook shields: she was the greaest love of his life. He had pictures of her all over his wall. she saw him at the academy awards, asked him to dance and he said "yes!" immediatly. They dated A LOT according to him. he loved her dearly and vise versa.

Madonna: MJ said Madona is a nasty witch. Why? because she told MJ that she was NOT going to disneyland. She wanted to go to a restuarant then a strip bar. MJ said HE WAS NOT GOING to a strip bar. He refused it. Then they talked about books and madonna said she liked sexy books (they used another word but it escapes me now) and MJ said that Madonna was into "nasty" books and didn't like that. He said it was for the shock value. He also said Madonna was jealous of him because she wished she had fans like his that fainted and ect.

Now they are giving the This is It trailer....

I KNEW IT!!!! I KNEW IT!!!!! I figured this out on my own!!!
That what I highlighted in red was EXACTLY why I knew the marriage with Lisa Marie broke down. This is why he quickly got together with Debbie when it was obvious it wasn't an equal love relationship but more of an arrangement of friends.

Debbie talked about him walking around with baby dolls. Michael talked about him walking around with baby dolls. It made sense to me YEARS ago.

Lisa Marie & Michael broke up because Lisa already with 2 kids of her own didn't want to have kids by Michael. Michael married her because he wanted to start a family.

This is why he hung out with kids so much too. He sort of like "adopted" kids & pretended to be a father figure. This is also how he got caught up in the molestation charges because he spent so much time with kids with parents having ulterior motives after seeing that wealth.

Michael's fame was his real problem. At least externally. Internally he never felt lovable on his own merit & did what he did hoping he would be loved more. But he didn't have to do so much really but be himself.

Fame made it even harder for him to be himself which is why his kids were brought into the world by such unusual means. He couldn't find anybody he could have a relationship with that wouldn't use him for money/fame/connections or be like a starstruck groupie constantly in awe (and possibly unable to cope with that level of fame being an everyday person).

I figured this out just looking at the circumstances. I really do know something about Michael Jackson just looking from the outside in. He's not so hard to figure out really because he's very consistent. You just have to know where to look.

yeah that is kind of what they made it sound like......that he didn't love himself.....and all that comes from Joe all the times Michael said Joe called him ugly.....This is why I hate Joe!!!

i dont know if he must have realized he was in fact not liking himself, but he was not, and its all JOSEPH JACKSON FAULT, what kind of human would do what he did???

I have the book. He also states that he loves old people and have a connection with them. He says they have childlike qualities and loves talking to them. He felt old age was not good because it is cruel to your body and mind. He also said growing old would be okay if he could continue to play and keep childlike qualities.
Michael had a big heart:), and its true old people have childlike qualities:yes:

Is it bad if I feel all this coming out now, is an indictment on his family?
I wish they fought to save him as hard as they are fighting to take control of his money.

I don't want to blame them for his death but one can't ignore how sad his life must have been. Like Oprah said, lonely at the top.
Agree, but hey! hey! its all for the money, i dont even trust Katherine Jackson

I honestly don't believe he knew Vic. At times it sounds like he was a bit far away, like the recorder may have been hidden. I put nothing past anyone who claims to have been close to him and has something to gain from that closeness now. Publishing books and tapes and taking advantage of his inability to defend himself and his privacy now, it's ridiculous.
He knew cause i saw a video (before the program was aired) and when he says madonna was jelous of his success he says "i hate to say this on tape"

But i dont think he would have ever thought the rabbi's comment on "stupid man, you killed yourself, you orphaned your children, etc, etc, etc", Michael at that time trusted this human waste

see cannot even trust a Rabbi these days.....he is looking to make money off of Michael too.....just another snake in the grass....he is showing his true colors now. Pretends to be Michaels friend in life then when Michael passes away he back stabs him......makes me sick.
I bet he now is drinking beer sitting and thinking "its all doing good, really really good, thanks for dying Michael"

did MJ talk about janet & their relationship?

I like what he said about Brooke Shield. smh @ LMP's betrayal. It is like MJ is letting people know he wasn't stupid...he might have been quiet but he wasn't dumb.

A lot of people betrayed him and took advantage of his kindness.
LM was pretty bad

This is blood money....
hell is

The proceed will go to charity?? my *cough* butt!
hahahahhahaha oh please! yeah yeah right:bugeyed

The money WILL NOT GO TO CHARITY, rest assured. I want to hear Michael's tapes, don't care about fake rabbi's words. How do we get the tapes without paying fake rabbi???
Of course it wont

I think you are right....the public will take it wrong...it is almost as though this is what the Rabbi wants......with friendslike him ...Michael didn't need enemies..
I hope people would understand him, i mean its his voice the one suffering, people i think, will understand, i mean how cruel can a human be, more than Joe?? well i hope hey dont

I watched the show. It was really heartbreaking. Really, really sad. Michael needed more than just a "spiritual adviser". He needed serious intensive therapy to help him heal the emotional wounds and learn to cope with the unresolved issues. It's just all too sad.

And Joe Jackson should have been removed from that family and put in jail for what he did.
If it wasnt for Joseph, (i hate to see joe all smiling, making interviews, he's a bastard, Michael would be alive Joe was the SICK ONE, he ruined Michael's life, he was the ONE

i would prefer hear Michael's voice than read any book, i dont want any "reflection" from that wh*re Boteach

there is nothing in this for Michael to be proud of. being betrayed even further by someone who has already betrayed him before. the charity thing is sugar to the public to make himself not look so evil. except for this post i doubt there is one other person could possibly not see this rabbi for the opportunist dirt bag that he is.

if you want intellectualize it and make an argument for the snakes that is your choice to do so. it is nothing short of dancing on Michael's grave. but it is your dance to have. for me and i think for anyone else who has half a brain cell running they will not be fooled nor will they believe this man was a friend.

Goodness gracious...first and foremost...this is the first I have ever heard of the Rabbi's past shenanigans...certainly if this was/is the case...this matter should be reported to the proper authorities and taken care of in the proper manner..!

:angel:Knowledge IS Growth...Education IS The Key~~~

How is this guy a holy man anyway? To do down-low, dirty sh*t like this to somebody that came to him for help?

Holy man? $humley serves mammon. He is a son of the father of lies.

This is blood money....

I agree.

I totally agree.
He even refers to it as his "confession". WHY would a confession need to be shown to the whole world?

Disgusting. I remember reading a statement from another Rabbi in one of the threads which was moved to the Tabloid Section critizing $humley for revealing these tapes. If you are a clergyman, you don't share details about the spiritual direction you have given to some one. The same thing would be the case for a confession.

I posted this on another thread, since moved to the Tabloid Section. This is long, but it's better to be armed with facts than take things at what might seem to be face-value. :clapping::clapping::clapping:Thank you! I'll be keeping this article.

Eeeeexactly. The content isn't even my issue right now, it's his deceitfulness. The "tabloid" and "news" line has become blurred, for sure, but still...NBC is not E!... I was wondering how and why they even agreed to take this on. I thought they held themselves to higher standards... We need to check up on them, for sure.

I have the book. He also states that he loves old people and have a connection with them. He says they have childlike qualities and loves talking to them. He felt old age was not good because it is cruel to your body and mind. He also said growing old would be okay if he could continue to play and keep childlike qualities.
$hmuley, get the eff out of here and stop trying to sell that TRASH book!

I dont think he wanted to because he feared Joe.....and he couldnt wait to get away from him...I think the last thing he wanted was input from Joe

It was always a double-edged sword. Joe in the past was brutal to his kids emotionally & physically. At the same time Joe was responsible for shaping his kids into the entertainers they became allowing them to leave Gary & gain wealth. Joe controlled their business plans & was the one who sought to leave Motown when they couldn't get creative control.

Without the move to CBS Records, would we HAVE a Michael Jackson today? Or at least the Michael Jackson we came to know & love?
Lots of talented people get slept on. They slept on Mike in the late 70s thinking he was past his prime even though he would turn 20 at the time. Music business is rough.

In the Jacksons miniseries, you hear Joe complain about the managers taking his boys away from him. Michael's inner circle got full of turmoil after he got away from Joe. At least with Joe you only had to deal with mostly Joe. With these strangers it was trial & error. Some were good, some were bad, some were very bad. Not to say Joe didn't bring unsavory types around either. Jack Gordon got to LaToya through associations with Joe. Victory Tour had a bad spell cast over it thanks to Don King & his ticket schemes which Michael had to publicly rectify. And I think Bob Jones might have come through Joe too even though that took years to overcome.

But with Joe's input he had less snakes to watch.
I think that had been Michael's struggle ever since not making Joe his manager. The inner circle that betrayed him could have been counteracted with more input from the family. Yes, including Joe.

How did Michael trust an ass like Schumley Boteach anyhow? Joe woulda had that scammer packing long time back.

It was damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of situation I guess. And Michael never could find quite the right balance.
