I think it is Michaels voice, as I said in previous post he has enormous wide voice range that sounds different from every album. Heaven Can Wait voice sounds different from Why You Wanna Trip On Me which in its case sounds different from I Can´t Help It. Now if the Jackson family are dissatisfied with the song and what Sony has done they can not blame on anyone but themselves.

They were aware of Michaels relationship with Sony, how it deteriorated over the past 10 years when it came to the promotion of the Invincible album, the refuse of releasing What More Can I Give single and finance the possible Invincible World Tour. Not to mention about the Sony/ATV Catalog that cause all the trouble between them 10 years ago.

Yet they were the same persons that wrote the contract with Sony, that would allow them to release upcoming albums of Michaels material for the next 7-8 years, back in January/February this year. Why wouldn´t they sign a contract with a new label instead like Universal, Def Jam or whatever? As long it wasn´t Sony. But they did and this is the result they got.

I don't think that will help because all of the insiders work for Sony (??) and Sony have already confirmed that they believe it is 100% Michael :(

No, I don't believe this is a Michael Jackson song. I do believe he may have very loosely come up with the lyrics and idea, and sang minimal amounts but most of it absolutely does not sound like Michael. I'm just angry, upset, I feel like we're being laughed at. This may sound dramatic, but yeah...I just heard it for the first time so I haven't had time to get used to this situation yet.

I just don't know anymore. How much more are we fans supposed to take?

I agree. I agree with the majority too but as ginvid said this is a board for all not most. We need to respect everyone's opinions, not calling people deluded.

I think you are right. All of us who have heard Jason Malachi think this sounds more like him than Michael. If you have never heard Malachi, then you think it sounds like Michael.

No one can be certain except the people who heard the bare tracks before any editing.

Technology can do anything I'm afraid including altering Michael's voice to the point it not obviously his.

It doesn't sound like him but I'm aware that as technology has helped some people's voice in the studio it can harm others.

I vote- give us the unedited tracks and we'll know if it's him. I can tell this one has been compressed a bit but I'm not certain to what degree or why.

Maybe if it is him and they thought it would be cool to alter his voice because the lyrics start off talking about him in a third party so perhaps it was a creative concept... He's pretended to impersonate himself before right? Maybe he wanted it to sound like an impersonator impersonating him???

All I know is I don't trust Sony and I'm waiting to see what the family has to say.

Taryll should know and I believe he is telling the truth here. I mean if you have been listening to MJ for the last 20 years like I have you can instantly recognise that he is not singing on 'Breaking News'

Doesn't really mean anything really though. In some other songs this Jason sounds much more similar to Michael than on BN, by raising pitch, naturally its gonna sound more alike.

To me it is clear that it is MJ when it comes to how he finishes singing every single line. his voice is vibrating and it is just him.

The way I see it is, Sony aren't stupid and wouldn't publish a 100% fake MJ song. I think it's about 20% MJ vocals and the rest padded out by others.

It's not 100% truthful or honest but probably within the law. They have admitted the work was finished by others, they didn't stipulate how much.

I, like most of you, are disappointed but I say this, for those making out like it's the end of the world; there are people giving up their lives in Afghanistan and elsewhere, or coming back with horrific injuries; there are still in 2010 children dying from starvation & malaria; there are large parts of the world coping with recent natural disasters that have killed hundreds of thousands. This is an unfinished & average Michael Jackson track passed off by an record company trying to make some cash.

I know the legacy of Michael Jackson is important, but the man made Thriller, Bad, Off The Wall, Dangerous et al, he won't be damaged by this track.

A little perspective.
