Bmi Urban Awards... mike didnt appear

LOL, he can use some face pads, why grease?
I don't know what the treatment is for that disease but I do know that it is a debilitating one. I went to college with a white guy that had it and I had a white lecturer that had it, his face was full of potholes. It is soul destroying. Michael said he became shy to even look in people's face when he had it.:(

Its a shame that Michael Jackson couldn't take the time to appear with his family at this ceremony. More attention would have been brought on the honor if MJ was there. As it stands, even with Janet there, most people don't even know the Jacksons received this honor. I say it's a shame because they took the time to support him in his darkest hour as a family and he, AS LEAD SINGER alone, should have returned the favor and participated. There is no excuse. This wasn't something planned 5 minutes ago. He had ample time to rearrange his schedule. I'm starting to believe that Michael Jackson wants nothing to do with his family.

There was no television coverage of this event, so he wouldn't have to be concerned.

There was no expectation of him to perform.

And it would have been the chance for him to publicly show his support to his family.

Maybe I'm the only one that feels that way. There won't be many more opportunities for all the family to be all together like this. Even Chris Tucker was there.

Well, it's kinda dangerous to say that here but I'm kinda inclined to agree with you!

i'd give a million dollars to some fans on here who i never saw, say one positive thing about MJ, knowing full well, i'd never have to give it away. and yet they are still here. how does one know that MJ didn't support his family enough for three lifetimes, yet u just didn't hear about it? just because u don't hear about it, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Well, it's kinda dangerous to say that here but I'm kinda inclined to agree with you!
And if he did go to this event, "some" folks would NOW be saying:

Why did he wear that?
How come he's sitting like that?
I don't like those pants?
I don't like that jacket?
How come he's not wearing a tie like his brothers?
He's too skinny!
Why is he wearing sunglasses?
I don't like his hair?
How come he didn't bring Pammie? LOL!

When it comes to Michael Jackson, ya just can't win!

Well, as long as he doesn't show up with his pj's I don't have any problems with what he's wearing... unlike other folks! Probably good he didn't show up! Another pj pic is the last thing we need! ;)

I woulda loved to have seen this. I like Mario. :)
And he's sportin' that vintage Jackson jacket.

Thanks for posting you guys! :D

Gurl, I hear that. Mario was looking nice. LOL. Love his jacket, so MJ!

Corey Feldman was there?! I am glad that MJ didn't show up after all.

Big Apple 2, u r nostradamus.

I support MJ and I don't like to be questioning your decision. If MJ didn't want to go to the ceremony he has his reasons.

I was very disappointed with the Marlon's statement . He'll doesn't understand that this kind of statement is not good to his brother?

Now the headlines on this award will be:

"MJ pilot camel in Egypt and their brothers receive prize." Awsome!!!!!!!!

Ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!

Well it would have been nice if both Michael & Jermaine had shown up, but we don't know their reasons for not coming so I wont judge. Anyway, congrats to the Jacksons! So nice to see them getting some recognition from the industry. They more than deserve this award.

the brothers certainly more than do deserve it. once again, Congratulations to them.

Yes, indeed. It doesn't look good, esp when his parents made the effort. he must have had his reasons

Really? And what about Jermaine? Like someone stated on here and I remember reading that on here that Gone Country was already done, and Jermaine should have went as well. Maybe MJ didn't want to go because he didn't want to deal with the same nonsense that he deals with his family. Look, I do not know if MJ has any issues with his family, but it was not required of MJ to be there. Heck, he didn't even confirmed that he was going to be there. I do not see how this would look bad on Mike. I am tired of people forgetting the fact that MJ did TOO MUCH for this family and really doesn't owe them ANYTHING. I would not be shocked that MJ got to know what happened through his family and maybe might go on youtube and check out the performances. Damn. The family gets to see MJ in family gatherings with no camers or media involve. MJ did not go - so LET IT GO! Who cares? Damn! If MJ has beef with his family - so? What are you gonna do about it? Stop it? Encourage it? There was a silly story out there that MJ owes his brothers over $800,000 in, I believe, royalities. Maybe, if the story is true, MJ didn't bother showing up.

Thanks to everyone for posting links, articles (with links) and pics of the event. Congrats, once again, to the Jacksons. Their music is timeless, still rocks my socks and awesome. :) BTW, Marlon didn't have to say that BS comment. He might have been joking and Marlon DID say that comment, Dats, unless they wouldn't quote him, but Marlon should have said that MJ went to KFC and got some food and didn't feel like coming. Just saying.

Well, maybe he did and didn't care and just was upset that MJ didn't show up? Who knows?

Well he maybe was upset but that doesn't give the right to speak like that of MJ.He is upset? Ok,fine! Then he talk directly with MJ, but don't make jokes in public.

Maybe Marlon doesn't feel that he needs to be GIVEN the right to speak like that to his brother you know. They used to sleep in the same bed. Or should he apply to Michael Jackson first before he speaks about Michael?

Michael doesnt attend any awards. The World Music Awards fiasco scarred him from any more award shows for a while. Every awards show floats rumors that Michael might appear and he NEVER does. I dont think we should even bother suspecting unless Michael's camp confirms it themselves otherwise we all know he won't show up. I can guarantee he WONT be at the MTV awards.

That's a bit of a sweeping statement saying Michael is scared from The World Music Awards fiasco. There was NO fiasco as Michael wasn't booed. Don't believe tabloid garbage.

Michael and also Jermaine didn't appear because they might have had other things to do. If anything, Michael has turned up to collect too many awards in the past. It's a shame Michael wasn't there with his family last night, but it's kind of good that Michael doesn't attend every award he's given. It also stop the Jackson 5 reunion album and tour rumors, as Michael has his own career to focus on.

I agree with you, you raised some good points.

Michael doesn't owe his family anything. Plus it is a fact Michael did the Victory Tour just for his family which earned them millions of $ each.

How could anyone believe Michael owes his brothers $800,000. All these Michael Jackson in debt stories are out of control, and stupid. Remember a lot of Michael's family live at the Encino mansion that Michael still owns 100%, so I doubt it would be Michael owing his brothers money !

Marlon said Michael went to KFC and decided not to come, LOL. That's the great Jackson family sense of humor, people forget how Michael's brothers have a good lighthearted sense of humor. I think what Marlon said was cool and obviously just a light heated joke

Maybe Marlon doesn't feel that he needs to be GIVEN the right to speak like that to his brother you know. They used to sleep in the same bed. Or should he apply to Michael Jackson first before he speaks about Michael?

I'm sure Michael's cool with what Marlon said. Tito has said Michael and Marlon are really close, closer than the public think.

I agree, as I said before, as much as I wished the entire family were there, I am still pleased that the focus was put on the other Jacksons on that night.

Jermaine has got a skin desease called Acne

He never heard of ProActive? I would assume that he has to ask MJ for money to go a buy it, but still. (J/K) That is not really an excuse for why Jermaine would not show up. Also, what is wrong with posters making some fun of Jermaine's greasy face? It is funny. LOL. I mean, what person defends Jermaine? LOL. He means well at times, but still.

You also said that MJ not showing up doesn't look good for the family. Which one is it, Dats?

I don't know what the treatment for acne is, I just know that the condition is severe. Would you be comfortable for people to make fun of Michael's vitiligo.
Michael had acne too and he said it drove him to dispair. He wouldn't even look in the mirror. I have heard ofyoung men committing suicide because of their condition. Why would you make fun of it? just asking.

They used to sleep in the same bag, they are brothers and Marlon knows that MJ images aren't very good.So...please,he could be more coherence?Or more respect with the person that he used in the same bed, same house, same father,mother,stage.................?Thank you!

Wow. I've never seen these guys before. That was a great routine. It can't be easy to keep an audience from feeling things are too busy, or too much to take in at the same time, when there are so many figures on the stage at once. They did a great thing by often splitting the group up in two so the focus would be primarily on the one group doin' their thing, and yet the group not center stage would be doing just enough to keep your mind not on them, but the movement of the main dancing, that was being showcased. And when they did all do the same thing together , it was tight and interesting. Very visually pleasing. I enjoyed them a lot.

Congrats to the Jackson family for the honor given to them that evening. :clapping:

Maybe Marlon doesn't share your point of view about his brother.

Why would you make fun of it? just asking.

Why are you talking about someone supposed health issues? Just asking?

Let's get this thread back on topic. The last time I checked, I make fun of whoever I want to make fun of.

That was a fantastic display, I agree.:D

Yeah, well, Marlon's the same guy who only showed up once during Michael's trial and didn't bother showing up on the day of the verdict. The last time he might have seen Michael was behind a glass window, but okay. I've got issues with the way Marlon acts, but that's for another topic of dicsussion.

His comment was just another off one of many he's made.

And why is it ALWAYS the same people on here who only post when they've got something nasty to say about Michael? You know who you are too.
