BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For [General Discussion]

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

I'll contact them then. I'll also pass it on to the Estate.. If I got a response from Nocturne, how would I show the Estate?

Good luck :D

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

Anyone interested in contacting Nocturne Production?

I think someone should contact them becuase we know that the Estate can be incapable of doing things right. Maybe Estate don't even know about Nocturne Production?

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

Damaged? Lost? Hello people, I still have all the stuff from the 80s, and even from the 70s. Tapes, video tapes, and it even survived a bloody war in Bosnia throughout the 90s. It's not a dinosaure fossile we are talking about.

But a dinosaure fossile would be great too of course... - Maybe in the Fan Special deluxe dinosaure edition - for the old fans to enjoy!!

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

Yet, the Estate is willing to enter into 7-year deal with Sony... Bumpy, you are too optimistic this time! -_-

Yes, a 7-year deal without concert videos. As I optimisticly said, maybe those videos will be released when a deal is reached with another company. But again, I am just speculating.

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

There's no email for Nocturne, just a phone number and address, and since I'm not from the USA, I can't really send a letter/phone.

I have even found a whole box of untouched cigarettes and tobacco in my house that was hidden during the second world war. I have found books from the 19th century in my attick. The 80s were "yesterday" to me and some of you talk as if it was B.C. era.

Umm then how did you expect to do what you wanted to do?

But why would the Estate make a 7-year deal with a company that they don't want to release the concerts? No logic here.

I think the truth is that they have the films, they're just lazy or want to suck our money til' there's no more DVD's out there, so then they can start releasing Blu-Rays...

you can't compare a privat persons care for his collectible and how film companies do.
I've seen and read many times of restaurations and its been said that once a master of the film was done the negative were seen as not needed and destoyed. or lost and no one knows where they are. and the only way is to find a best looking master copy for re-master. that aren't just "simply horror stories".

What Lucas claims is also not quite true I believe. There actually exsist copies and some of them are in hands of private individuals. Good informational site btw - http://savestarwars.com/
He does everything to not to release the Original Trilogy (unaltered) ultimately the fans are extremaly upset and many dislike his additions in SE's so they're making their own fan-edits. I'm following guy called Adywan who's now working on ESB:R (Empire Strikes Back: Revisited) since 2008 now. He has thousands of followers and his crew. He's basically investigating WHOLE movie. There ain't such shot which hasn't been improved somehow. He tried to make it the way it was originally but cooler (for example updating lightsabers and laser bolts which Lucas didn't do in all those SE's and rereleases of SE's for some reason. and thats the least of it. check out his screenshot and video compares). That guy with his crew and fans basically know every single frame of Star Wars OT movies (I'm not joking) and he's making better version with his zero budget that multibillionaire Lucas
Yes, i know about that. I know that he is making up things. just it was a famous example that came to my mind.

If the film is indeed lost or destroyed, then I agree with Alec, Michael and his management and CBS and Nocturne Production screwed up BIG TIME.

Still, just so hard to believe. Michael had a warehouse to store his drawings; yet, he didn't save any one of his concert recording master.

That would mean that MJ was a careless businessman, which in fact he wasn't. MJ purchased the Beatles catalog, he knew perfectly well the value of mega stars catalogs, yet he'd lose his own?

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

I think Sony the manufacture and sony music shouldn't put in the same pot.
Yes, it is Sony Corporation, but they don't have anything to do with each outher. what the one does and the politic of the other are like day and night.
regarding what sony invented and what sony music is releasing.

Very true. But, one would assume Sony Music would take advantage of the technology developed by its corporate parent.

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

Assume the masters are owned by Nocturne Production and the company wants to profit from it. The company's best and only option is to work with the Estate. Everything related to MJ is valuable, but it's only valuable when the company can release them commercially. Without the Estate's authorization, the films can just sit there to collect dust.

Exactly my point, if they cant agree to any deal than nothing will be done. Also I wonder how Warner Brothers plays into this with the Wembley Moonwalker footage.

Why on earth do you think your experiences or habbits are generally true to others?

24 years actually is a very long time, many people don't give sh... about collecting, and Michael didn't mean much to many people on this earth. If I'd find a Beyonce film in my basement, I'd throw it into the garbage in one second...

Also true.

Re: Michael Jackson BAD25 - The Announcement We Have All Been Waiting For

Wouldn't it be great if MTV would bring out and air all the old BAD promotional stuff they did back from the 1980's!! It was such a huge deal back then. SO EXCITING for those here who remember it.:wild:

But MTV probably wouldn't do that today. They are too busy showing reality shows about whiney, unwed pregnant teenagers and crap.-_-

Because I had found one thing or two. And here we are talking about a businessman Michael Jackson who had bought many music catalogs, who had generated billions of dollars to SONY, who knew the value of his own catalog. On top of that we are not talking about one single film, but a mountain of films. 123 concerts only for BAD tour. What about Victory? Triumph? and all other stuff? Even if you wanted to lose them on purpose you'd need hellova a place to lose them. Tell me how do you lose al these things? And sorry 25 years is nothing when we're talking about video industry.

p.s. It had nothing to do with my habits, but I said I found things that survived. I used it as an example.

I don't know about CBS or MJJ Production, but many companies of lesser significance have standard record retention policy. If I want, I can recall my company's financial record in 1980 with ease. A company would not just toss away stuff for no reason.
