Oh you go for the Red Wings huh? Both my grandfathers were Red Wings fans, my grandfather (my mom's side) always rants at referees and bad plays and I got that from him.

:D Yep, I'm Michigan born and raised, can't help it, lol! I'm the only one in my immediate family that likes hockey, so I'm alone in my yelling at the tv for that sport. :lmao: I go for all of my home teams, except Michigan State (college) and the Lions (NFL).

Well the Red Wings are an awesome team, I remember watching them win 4 Stanley Cups on CBC's Hockey Night In Canada.

Ooh. The Bruins are playing the Red Wings tonight. I won't be able to see it, but dad is since he's got NHL Centre Ice for free for a whole month.

I just found a Coach's Corner classic.

Hey! That's not Ron MacLean and Don Cherry. It's Lyndon Byers as Grapes and my hockey hero Cam Neely as MacLean.

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

Ooh, Grant Fuhr is still HOT, lol! :girl_blush: Great pic, Pop!

Thanx. I still remember that they slaughtered the Bruins for the Stanley Cup in 88'. If the blackout hadn't happened in the Boston Garden, the Bruins would've prevented the Oilers to sweep them off, but no they suspended Game 4 and they got beat in Game 5 in Edmonton.

Speaking of slaughtered, I'm not very fruitful with the Bruins 3 straight losses. Ungrateful, the Wahsingotn Capitals were all over them 3-0 and that damned Daniel Briere scored a damn game winning goal for COlorado Avalanche 2-1 when 3rd period is about to expire and yet he ended the damned game.

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

Finally the Bruins win last night in a shootout over the Red Wings. Thank you Reilly Smith. And welcome to the team Simon Gagne.

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

My fav player Milan Lucic got a $5,000 fine for obsene gesture at Montreal Canadiens fans during the 6-4 loss game. A fine? Pffft. Big deal, I'm glad he gave those classless whiny babies I hate a "stone cold" at them. I'd do the same thing since I hate them so much. Lousy b@$^@%#$!!!

LA Kings defenseman Slava Voynov has been suspended indefinately with pay due to the investigation of domestic violence. He's been arrested and bailed out and awaiting his court case on December 1st.

The LA Kings organization makes a statement regarding the suspension:

"These developments are of great concern to our organization. We support the NHL’s decision to suspend Slava Voynov indefinitely during this process, and we will continue to take appropriate action as the legal proceedings and the investigation by the NHL take their course."

And the NHL makes their own statement:

"Los Angeles Kings defenseman Slava Voynov has been suspended indefinitely from all club activities pending a formal investigation by the National Hockey League of an arrest this morning on charges of domestic violence.

The suspension was imposed under Section 18-A.5 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, which provides that, during the pendency of a criminal investigation, “The League may suspend the Player pending the League’s formal review and disposition of the matter where the failure to suspend the Player during this period would create a substantial risk of material harm to the legitimate interests and/or reputation of the League.”

Voynov, who will continue to be paid during the pendency of the investigation, was arrested for California Penal Code section 273.5, Domestic Violence."

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

Tonights Toronto vs Ottawa game has been postponed due to Ottawa shooting.

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

Pittsburgh Penguins and Anaheim Ducks payed their respects to Ottawa and to all Canadians due to the event of the shooting attack. God bless these 2.

And I believe a strong possiblity that Don Cherry will honour Cpl. Nathan Cirillo on this Saturday's "Coach's Corner" like he always honours every Canadian soliders, police and military on "Coach's Corner" and loves them and I'm sure that Cpl. Cirillo's family will be very happy that Grapes will honour a loving father, son and realtive.

Saw that tribute. Very classy of them and much appreciated.

Indeed and they deserve such applause for their respects. The Boston Bruins did the same thing and I love Rene Rancourt's rendition of "Oh Canada". The Bruins are the classiest of them all because they love respected Canadians.

Now I really can't wait for tomorrow night when the Bruins are playing Toronto Maple Leafs on Hockey Night In Canada (CBC) and wait if Grapes will honour Cpl. Cirillo on "Coach's Corner".

Funny that Ron MacLean barely said anything throughout the segment. At the end HNIC commentator Glenn Healy playing bagpipes as Grapes stated.

B's playing without Zdeno Chara (knee injury) for 4-6 weeks. Still playing hard and hungry for a win.

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

 We Red Wings fans are holding our breath and sending many prayers Gordie's way. . .he suffered a severe stroke on Sunday (per his son, Murray). The latest report says he lost a lot of mobility on his right side and his children/grandchildren are gathering together to see him, possibly for the last time.

Oh yes I heard about him suffering a stroke. It's very sad. He's one of they greatest players in the NHL played for the most seasons (26- with the Red Wings and Hartford Whalers), played in the WHA with his sons Marty and Mark with Houston Aeros) and he also well know for elbowing players.

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

UCK! Another injury cursed the Bruins again! First Chara and now Torey Krug is out 2-3 weeks with a finger injury. Damn this openening NHL month!

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

I heard rumours saying that Columbus Blue Jackets player Nathan Horton may not be able to play again with this bad back injury threatening his NHL career. If he hadn't left Boston, he wouldn't suffered karma of injuries in Columbus and I would never see him play against the Bruins in Boston and I can boo and jeer him. He made a big mistake to go there. Bad move traitor!

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

Last night during the Florida Panthers vs Boston Bruins game, the Bruins paid tribute to their former enforcer Shawn Thornton (now with the Panthers) and they even defeated the Panther in overtime 2-1 thanx to Brad Marchand.

That should be NHL Goal of the Year.

I checked out the commercial for tonights SportsNet Wednesday Night Hockey that plays Bruins vs Leafs, and they say the "Bruins have always been bullies", bullies my @$$ that's an insult as a Bruins fan. They're not bullies, they're Big and Bad. What are we the "Broad Street Bullies" the Philadelphia Flyers?

Whoever did that commerical for SportsNet and calls the Bruins bullies better smarten up.

This game honours the Hall Of Fame inductees of 2014, Peter Forsberg, Mike Modano, Rob Blake, Dominik Hasek, late Pat Burns and Bill McCreary.

I remember most is back in 1999 when the Dallas Stars and Buffalo Sabres faces each other for the Stanley Cup and Modano helped the Stars won thier 1st Stanley Cup dominated the "Dominator" and the Sabres (I believed the Stars will win and they did).

Rob Blake won his 1st Cup with Colorado Avalanche in 2001 while Forsberg was out of action due to surgery for ruptured spleen and played along side with one of my favourite defenseman Ray Bourque.

Peter Forsberg was one of my all time favourite non-Bruins NHL players ever and also one of my favourite Swede players.

I've always enjoyed Pat Burns time coaching with the Boston Bruins back in 1998-2000, I even seen him in action while I was at the Maple Leaf Gardens in early 1999 and he even won his 3rd Jack Adams Trophy (NHL Coach Of The Year) with the Bruins in 98', he also won the same trophy while coaching with the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He won the Stanley Cup while coaching with the New Jersey Devils in 2003. Before his coaching career, he was a police officer and he loves to ride his motorcycle as of his hobbies.

Congrats to the inductees and especially to Pat Burns. Thank you for coaching with the Bruins.

Throwing your favourite team jersey on ice, that's a very classless display a fan would do. Hey all you Toronto Maple Leafs who throws your own jersey on ice like that SMARTEN UP!

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

I wouldn't care how bad my Wings got beaten, I'd NEVER toss my jersey onto the ice! They cost too damn much, for starters, second I'm not a fair weather fan. I ride or DIE DETROIT, baby! :punk:

Well good. I would never throw my own jersey on ice like that, I'm way to classy for that. I'd rather throw hissy fits and harp for frustrations thank you very much. Throwing jerseys is not a good way of showing true fans. Such crybaby act.
