Montreal vs Boston Game 2

Here's Game 2, I'm not gonna bother with Game 1 because that games puts me in a dark mood, but this game was exhilirating. Daniel Paille scored 1-0 for the Bruins, then Montreal jumped on the Bruins 3-1, other than that bad part, the worst part is the B's gets one penalty after another, those damned referees are just screwing the Bruins off to let Montreal win which I get into a little hissy fit over, but later in the 3rd period the jokes on both the referees and the Habs because they awoken the beast. Dougie Hamilton scores 3-2, then Patrice Bergeron tied 3-3, then Reilly Smith scored 4-3 for the Bruins. WOW! WHADDA COMEBACK! Then Milan Lucic scored an empty net goal for a 5-3 win for the Bruins tied the series to 1. Now it's off Bell Centre. BOOOOOOO!!!!

Game 4. Great game, I was so nervous throughout 3 periods, no one scored, very little penalties which is good so no more screwing around. Then in overtime Matt Fraser scored the overtime winning goal for the Bruins and tied the series 2-2. On to Game 5 back in Boston.

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

Awesome Game 5. The Bruins finally scored a couple of powerplay goals in a 4-2 win and now leading 3-2 in the series. I hate Montreal for "poking the bear" into making us getting penalties, well not in your lifetime you "classless clowns"! And just now Shawn Thornton just got fined for squirting water bottle on PK Subban's face. UGH! That Subban is such whiner with his complaining. Wah Wah Wah!

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

Those players of Montreal Canadiens spoke to the press about the Bruins in a bad way like they said "We're not gonna stup to their (Bruins) level" and they even started saying the Bruins are classless. Ugh! They make sick and I'm pissed off at them, they're the ones who are classless, they're nothing but a bunch of whinny crybabies and besides they started it.

Now it's Game 7 tonight and...it's WAR!!!

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

I agree and also a new coach should also be in order as well. Torts didn't really fit well coaching for Vancouver at all, in fact he shouldn't be coaching in the NHL at all, he whines and complains too much and addresses the media that way. If he hadn't let Luongo played at the Heritage Classic game, he wouldn't go back to Florida due to Trade Deadline.

Speaking of a new coach, Barry Trotz is now the new head coach to Washington Capitals. Before I didn't bother watching Round 3, I was amazed to see Adam Oates works for Hockey Night In Canada during the playoffs, I loved him since he played for the Bruins and they even showed his goal during Game 7 of the Montreal vs Boston game in the 1994 playoffs (the same game my dad recorded on ESPN feed).

Last night I noticed before the ending of Game 4 of Chicago Blackhawks vs Los Angeles game that the Hockey Night In Canada logo was at the corner of the board in which the game is broadcast on TSN, I believe that it's either that game should be on CBC or they made a mistake in putting the broadcast logo in the corner. It should be the TSN logo on the corner of the board while the game is on TSN.

Speaking of TSN, James Duthie stated that the NHL on TSN makes their final broadcast (due to the fact that Rogers 12 year deal with the NHL will be broadcast by Rogers and that CBC will continue broadcasting NHL games for the next few years), but they will continue their NHL coverage throught the playoffs.

Jason Spezza has requested a trade, so he'll end up elsewhere and no longer being Ottawa Senators captain for a whole year.

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

There's 3 draft players, 2 in 2nd Round and 1 in 3rd Round were the sons of former NHL players in the NHL Draft. There were Brendan Lemieux (son of Claude Lemieux), Ryan Donato (son of Ted Donato) and Dominic Turgeon (son of Pierre Turgeon).

Anaheim Ducks acquired Ryan Kesler from the Vancouver Canucks and Pittsburgh Penguins traded James Neal to Nashville Predators for Patric Hornqvist.

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

And Winnipeg Jets acquired Nikolaj Ehlers, son of the former Danish elite player Heinz Ehlers!

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

Ottawa Senators GM Bryan Murray is recently diagnosed with cancer and is seeking treatment immediately and won't be around much of the game time due to this.

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

Here is the sample of the November 23rd 2014 schedule on Saturday's NHL games. Due to the beginning of new deal by Rogers. Hockey will be shown on City, Sportnet channels and TVA channels (owned by Rogers) along with CBC (sub-licensed with Rogers 4 years) will still show the games on Saturdays including NHL All-Stars, Hockey Day In Canada, Winter Classic Games and the NHL Playoffs.

sample-saturday-night-11.jpg

I have both CBC, SportnetOne, City and TVA on cable so it's good for me. Still after the next few years CBC won't broadcast NHL games or any other sports anymore and CBC is gonna suck rapidly.

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

Well then allow e to explain. The general managers whom controls player transactions and bears the primary responsibility on behalf of the hockey club during contract discussions with players. They also normally the person who hires and fires the coaching staff, including the head coach. Like here's an example

Let's say Dave Nonis (Toronto Maple Leafs GM) is going to trade James Reimer (Goalie) to New Jersey for Cory Schnider (Goalie) and let's a 2nd Rround draft pick and the Devils GM Lou Lamoriello decides to accept or decline a trade. Plus we can say that Craig MacTavish (Edmonton Oilers GM) and Taylor Hall are in negotiations for Hall's contract on whether he would resign with the Oilers for 5 years ($23.5 million) and if Hall resigns with the team he stays with the team for 5 years with the amount of $23.5 million.

NHL team presidents are administators in the teams front office. That's all I hear the info on team presidents, I'll find more info in time.

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

The settlement has been reached for Steve Moore against Todd Bertuzzi for about over $30 million. Here's the full story on TSN.ca

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=459743

Well, I don't buy the settlement at all, that what that $$$ sucking @$$ baby Steve Moore wants, he might as well kiss Todd Bertuzzi's @$$ while he gets the $$$ from him and the Vancouver Canucks organization.

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

San Jose Sharks Joe Thornton is no longer captain of the team as his "C" has been stripped. The Sharks will name their new captain soon.

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

David Krejci signed a 6 year extension deal with the Bruins. YES!!!!

Re: any NHL Hockey fans on here

Saku Koivu has officially retired after 18 NHL seasons with the Montreal Canadiens & Anaheim Ducks.

There's gonna be more rule changes effecting for the 2014-15 NHL season. I will also add my own verdicts to em'.

Rule 1.8 – Rink - Goalkeeper's Restricted Area

The trapezoid will be expanded by two feet from the goal post on both sides of the net.

My verdict: I really don't think the expended trapezoid is really nessecary.

Rule 23 – Game Misconduct Penalties

A new Game Misconduct category will be created. Clipping, charging, elbowing, interference, kneeing, head-butting and butt-ending move from the general category into the same category as boarding and checking from behind ("Physical Fouls"), whereby a player who incurs two such game misconducts in this category would now be automatically suspended for one game.

My verdict: I'm in favour of the headbutting and buttending to be a game misconduct penalty, but I'm not in favour of clipping being as one.

Rule 24 – Penalty Shot

The 'Spin-O-Rama' move, as described in Section 24.2 of the 2013-14 NHL Rule Book, will no longer be permitted either in Penalty Shot situations or in the Shootout.

My verdict: DUMB! That's DUMB!

Rule 38 – Video Goal Judge

Video review will be expanded in the following areas:

* Rule 38.4 (viii) has been modified to allow broader discretion to Hockey Operations to assist the referees in determining the legitimacy of all potential goals (e.g., to ensure they are "good hockey goals"). The revised Rule will allow Hockey Operations to correct a broader array of situations where video review clearly establishes that a "goal" or "no goal" call on the ice has been made in error. The new expanded rule will also allow Hockey Operations to provide guidance to referees on goal and potential goal plays where the referee has blown his whistle (or intended to blow his whistle) after having lost sight of the puck.

* In reviewing "Kicked in Goals," Hockey Operations will require more demonstrable video evidence of a "distinct kicking motion" in order to overrule a "goal" call on the ice, or to uphold a "no goal" call on the ice.

My verdict: Either I trust those referee's call or not.

Rule 57 – Tripping

The rule relating to "Tripping" will be revised to specifically provide that a two minute minor penalty will be assessed when a defending player "dives" and trips an attacking player with his body/arm/shoulder, regardless of whether the defending player is able to make initial contact with the puck.

But, in situations where a penalty shot might otherwise be appropriate, if the defending player "dives" and touches the puck first (before the trip), no penalty shot will be awarded. (In such cases, the resulting penalty will be limited to a two-minute minor penalty for tripping.)

My verdict: Meh. We need more penalty shots often.

Rule 64 – Diving / Embellishment

The supplementary discipline penalties associated with Rule 64.3 (Diving/Embellishment) will be revised to bring attention to and more seriously penalize players (and teams) who repeatedly dive and embellish in an attempt to draw penalties. Fines will be assessed to players and head coaches on a graduated scale outlined below.

Incident #
Player Fine(s)
Head Coach Fine(s)
1
WARNING

2
$2.000

3

$5.000
$4.000
7
$5.000
$5.000
8
$5.000
$5.000

My verdict: Well it's about time. No more faking injuries ya dumb dumbs, as Don Cherry always say that diving "is not the Canadian way".

Rule 76 – Face-offs

To curb delay tactics on face-offs after icing infractions, in situations where the defending team is guilty of a face-off violation, following an icing, the defending player who is initially lined up for the face-off will be given a warning, but will be required to remain in the circle to take the face-off. A second face-off violation by the defending team in such situation will result in a two minute minor bench penalty.

My verdict: Again, DUMB! The referees should stop switiching players to take face offs, fans hate it and I hate it.

Rule 84 – Overtime

* Teams will switch ends prior to the start of overtime in the regular season.

* The entire ice surface will undergo a "dry scrape" prior to the start of overtime in the regular season.

* The procedure requiring the head coach to submit a list of the first three shooters in the shoot-out has been eliminated.

My verdict: That's fine with me as long as the 20 minute overtime doesn't happen, this isn't the fricking playoffs.

Rule 85 – Puck Out of Bounds

There have been further rule changes made relating to face-off location to avoid penalizing teams for plays intended to create bona fide scoring opportunities. Specifically, the following are "categories of plays" where face-offs will remain in the attacking zone despite the fact that the attacking team was technically responsible for the stoppage in play: Shots at the net by a player on the attacking team where: (i) the shot breaks the glass; (ii) the shot goes off the side of the net and deflects out of play; (iii) the shot goes off the dasher boards or glass and deflects out of play; (iv) the shot is tipped or deflected out of play by a teammate; and (v) the shot becomes wedged in or on the exterior of the goal net.

My verdict: Meh.

In addition, the following rule change will be enacted for the 2014 preseason and may be continued for the 2014/15 regular season if approved by the League and the NHLPA.

Rule 1.9 – Rink – Face-off Spots and Circles – Ice Markings/Hash Marks

The hash marks at the end zone circles will be moved from three feet apart to five feet, seven inches apart (international markings).

My verdict: I have no problem with that.
