Re: News and discussion about upcoming MJ album [Update Pg15]

They will have just got it from the internet. If it was being used as a promo single, or as the first single from the album, then many more major stations in more prominent markets would be playing it. Plus it would have been preceded by an announcement.

We know this album is coming, but just not quite yet.

then why have all these radio stations just started playing them these past few days then? if they have downloaded the leak & ''enhanced'' it then i don't see why they couldn't do it last year?

Maybe one station has seen the attention another has gotten, as evidenced here, from playing it and chosen to do the same. We are talking three stations though, one of which isn't even national radio.

Re: News and discussion about upcoming MJ album [Update Pg15]

Hyped to hear theres a new album. Hope its better than Michael lol

exactly, only one of them isn't a national radio which makes it at least possible for the polish airing to be from an official source.

Re: News and discussion about upcoming MJ album [Update Pg15]

My honest feeling is that they will pick a rebooted track from the Timbaland sessions that sounds more update that will compete with artists of today. I don't thnk they are going to rely on a demo verison to sell the album. If its gonna be a hit I think it needs to be a reworked version and not a demo, abit of a controversial approach i know.

Let me add that theres absolutely nothing wrong in Michaels untouched demo recordings but if they are going to get the likes of Timbaland etc to get involved in this project they are not going to let the tracks they've reworked to be just album songs. So thats why I think it's highly unlikely that Sony would be sending (A Place With No Name, Demo) track out for their main promo single/ song.

In my opinion the estate are not going to rush this like the 'Michael' album, which is why i'm not even expecting a release until later in the year june or even longer.

But the promo single its not the same as the first single, Lady GaGa already released a two main singles(Applause and Do What You Want) and promo singles(Dope) the promo singles its only promotional song, without huge commercial it must make a small attention like "watch out something big its coming", the first single its the main single which must have big promotion(commercial, vido etc) maybe APWNN its only a promo single and Sony try satisfy us before they released a first smash hit single ?

sounds good to me, perhaps there's something to be announced next week? if they've sent out the promo single then I don't think they'd leave a month between now and the press release.. it'd be dumb and the song would be classed as old.

Re: News and discussion about upcoming MJ album [Update Pg15]

I've been out of the loop for a while, can anyone tell me if there are any tracks that are confirmed or supposed to be on this upcoming album?

Nothing confirmed yet, but Timbaland has mentioned "Chicago" and Michael Prince mentioned something that alluded to What More Can I Give.

this album should have the same range of tempo's as Thriller or BAD! I think if there is a range of different styles then that will make it a more evolutioned sound and will give interest to the casual listeners, many albums drag on these days. they're missing that spark of genius.

I question your knowledge here. Michael's albums lasted 77 minutes when he could. Most now only about 30-50 minutes. Rarely does anyone sit through and listen to an entire album, especially if it's over an hour. But anyway we'll get whatever it comes out to be, but I seriously hope it's more uptempo and a lack of ballads. Never been a fan of those.

my knowledge? BAD is my favourite album from Michael and the original LP release is like 45 minutes long, I'm not lacking any knowledge in knowing true music, Michael reached a peak of mature sound with BAD! including his first ever solo anthem also, Invincible is a masterpiece too.. but no chance we'll get 16 tracks! I'd say 10 or 11. and final, I would like half up tempo & half ballads. Ballads exposé the true genius of Michael's voice without the need of over production. his voice is the true instrument.

Actually most seem to be 40-80 minutes these days. I had a quick look through my iTunes for 2013 albums, these were the lengths of some albums (in minutes): 65, 42, 67, 35, 75, 103, 79, 59, 80, 41, 60, 38, 53, 65. It might vary by genre (those albums were usually pop, r&b, alternative or rap) but it does seem most albums are between 40-80 minutes these days.

I agree with you on the listening to an entire album point. I find myself listening to the entirety of 30-50 minute albums far more often than I do for 70-80 minute albums.

but no chance we'll get 16 tracks! I'd say 10 or 11.

I think we have a solid chance of 10-12 songs. It's not way too much, but it's just enough to satisfy people. To me, 10-12 songs is the perfect length of an album :)

I see your point and yes, when I did hear the 'Michael album and skipped those 3 Song's it felt very limited to me, I don't know why but seven authentic tracks wasn't enough at all.. each Invinvible outtake I've heard is 4 minutes plus.. times that by 12 it'd be 48 minutes which is I think the perfect length! looking forward to the tracklist, but I'll understand if their are 10! I just hope for 4 never heard Song's :)

edit: I'm hoping for 2 Song's from 2006-2009! perhaps a Bradley Buxer song (D.I.E or Silent Spring, if they're complete of course)

Not MJ knowledge! ;) I know you're covered on that front aha

running time you mean? most albums today have 9-10 song's & 1-2 bonus tracks (example: JT 20/20 experience deluxe) it should be under 50 minutes, can't doubt that! haha.. especially if we want Song's for the future, lol

Re: News and discussion about upcoming MJ album [Update Pg15]

I hope for some news soon!!

All this speculating is killing me!

Would be great if the estate and SONY just gave us a single and an announcement now! I don't wanna wait any longer!

I hope for at least 10 songs! But I hope for maybe 11-13 songs! - And at least 4 ALL new songs! - Maybe even some we have never heard of and did not knew existed! :)

Re: News and discussion about upcoming MJ album [Update Pg15]

I still dont have ane reply from Sony Music Poland and this polish radio station.......

Re: News and discussion about upcoming MJ album [Update Pg15]

if we take bad25 as an example, they had several demo's.. Bruce Swedien said the exact number in the documentary and said they'd be complete enough for any other artist to release.. that's what we got with Don't Be Messin' Around. I think there could be several song's we haven't heard of that we may hear on this new album and in the future, the day that the tracklist come's will be a very exciting time. Hope for it sooner rather than later.

Speaking about Don't Be Messin Round, i would love to hear the Dangerous or History version of this song :)

Re: News and discussion about upcoming MJ album [Update Pg15]

Take it with a grain of salt but a guy i know who (as he tells me) has connections with sony music has just stated that the plan right now is for the album to be released in April. I haven't known this person for very long so i dont know how trustworthy he is so again take it for what its worth.

Re: News and discussion about upcoming MJ album [Update Pg15]

Be careful with those insiders. We had bad experiences during the Michael fiasco.

Re: News and discussion about upcoming MJ album [Update Pg15]

Some of them were spot on weren't they? Either way I'm holding out until MichaelJackson.com is prepped and official for the album.

Re: News and discussion about upcoming MJ album [Update Pg15]

Actually no one was spot on. Sorry but we don't do "guys that I know here" they are not considered credible sources. We been down that road before and it just causes huge problems and arguments on the board. So best to not even go there. Lets just use the hints we have logged and wait for an official announcement.

thing's certainly would have been a lot less complicated/confusing if A Place With No Name didn't leak.. hmmm, as Dr Freeze mentioned spring I'll be expecting the estate's website to be edited no later than March!

Re: News and discussion about upcoming MJ album [Update Pg15]

What happened during the Michael fiasco? Was it a lot of people going "A friend of a friend says it'll come out at this time" or something?

Re: News and discussion about upcoming MJ album [Update Pg15]

The leaked version of A Place With No Name isn't the 2010 version Dr. Freeze did. It's the final version Michael heard in the fall of 2008. It was mixed by Neff-U at the Bel Air Hotel. (Damien Shields will back me up on this one.) Just thought I'd point that out.

I hope for at least 10 songs! But I hope for maybe 11-13 songs! - And at least 4 ALL new songs! - Maybe even some we have never heard of and did not knew existed! :)

On a twelve track album, four new songs and eight we've already heard? I'm against that. I understand the idea of having leaked songs released, but the new:eek:ld ratio has to be equal. I'd be fine with six new songs and six leaked ones honestly. Just not four against eight.

if we take bad25 as an example, they had several demo's.. No he didn't. To quote him directly, he said all of the demos from Bad were in pretty good shape. And that could mean anything. Take for example Free. The chorus and music are in pretty good shape, even though the verses are majorly incomplete.

Fans suffered tooooo much after MJ passes away, esp after <michael> album released.
If they $ony/€state still want the money in this way by releasing only 12 tracks on an album. and insist what they have planed in order to save as much material as possible.
Fans have rights to tell what they want, if there's not their most wanted tracks. They could & should do NOT buy the album. That's not kidding. Enough is enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only 12 tracks??? are u kidding me?</michael>
