What surprises me, is that Rodney Jerkins & John Branca didn't worked on 'MICHAEL', but did worked on XSCAPE.

John Branca did work on Michael. He was a big reason why the Cascio tracks were included.

John Branca is a lawyer. He didn't work on MICHAEL and he didn't work on Xscape. He just insisted that Cascio songs be included on MICHAEL album, John McClain was against it.

Rodney was conctacted to work on MICHAEL. We can only guess what happened next. I think it was similar to Cory Rooney situation who refused to give them She Was Loving Me because he didn't want his song to be on the same album as Cascio songs. RESPECT. I think Rodney did the same because we all know he publicly said on twitter that Breaking News doesn't sound like Michael to him.

There is no reason to even take this thread there .. Plus you all know better too. Best to take that discussion where it belongs. I hate to see this thread get derailed

Price Of Fame is such a great and finished song. In my opinion they could have saved that one and release it now on the new album.

If it doesn't do well I wouldn't blame LNFSG but the Epic staff.

The figure needs to be corrected. 3 of 10 tracks on MICHAEL weren't Michael at all. So it has to be 228.000 x 0,7 = 159.600

It has very strong vocals. I am actually against any posthumously rework of MJs music, but I'd make an exception for such song(s) like POF if it'd would be done the following way

1) replacement of the midi with real instruments
2) the (newly) participating musicians & engineers should the same ones as on the original corresponding album session (and not any nowadays amateurs)
3) it sould be mixed excactly the same way as the existing demo was

You would accomplish nothing by doing 1) & 3). They want to make those songs relevant on the charts and on the radio.

I agree with 2) but that is very hard because you have a lot of douchebags like Quincy (respect for his past work) who would not return.

Price of Fame is an incredible song, but against other songs, it stands out in an awkward way.

I disagree. If people like the song they will buy it. If radio guys like the song they will play it.

I mean I would blame Epic staff too because of their choice. It's not the song's fault of course. They have at least 6 stronger songs than Love.

Only needs to be corrected if you assume 30% of the people bought it for the Cascio tracks.

There isn't a reason to bring up the cascio's in this thread, we can't let that confusion overshadow the excitement of these song's! track #2 & #3 will be played most, no doubt. But with pleasure i sure will be playing all the tracks first time round, keeping an open mind.

What were your favourite songs, in order?
Did you get up and dance with the other fans?

I can't believe you're only just telling us this. Of course, if you have heard all the finished songs, I will bow down to your opinion on what are the strongest songs on the album. Please forgive me, if I ever questioned you.

Abortion Papers is awesome! I love it. Also, I like the gritty and deep voice in Al Capone.

Personally i think if 'Got The Hots' wasn't released on 'King Of Pop' & 'Thriller 25' it would have suited #Xscape far greater than LNFSG! deeper voice, better grooves, perfect dance track.. one of my faves from the Thriller era for sure

Yeah Got The Hots is pretty good. I think For All Time would have fit nicely on this album to be honest. I'm kinda disappointed it was wasted on Thriller 25.

I'm glad Price Of Fame and Abortion Papers were put on Bad25. They fit on that 2nd disc nicely. If I could choose any of the leaked or unreleased songs that we know of to put on Xscape in favor of LNFSG, it would be "Can't Get Your Wait Off Of Me", or maybe "People Of The World"- even though that's incomplete. I think it would be the perfect "anthem" song that Michael was always looking for.

For the 'anthem' song (I know it's not really an anthem song) I would've loved if they went for "We've Had Enough". Would be a perfect song for the current 'problems' in the world today.

I think Got The Hots was found by Sony in mixdown form and just put out on the Japanese album without so much as touching it really, whether they have the multi's is another story.

why Got The Hots when there's Hot Street? I'd would have fit perfectly onto the xscape album.

PS: I assume it didn't happen due to copyright issues

PPS: Paul Anka is probably counting down the days too. Maybe he's more excited than us.

slapstick is a better recording than hot street imo, more agressive vocals!

If the album had an anthem song, there are several choices they could have gone with, I Have This Dream from 1999 being the ideal one. We've Had Enough is incredible, but it shouldn't be re-released on a proper studio album. Waste of space, honestly.

Imagine what they could do to Al Capone, Abortion Papers, Price of Fame and I'm So Blue? They maybe should've "contemporized" these songs as well as release the demos for them.

Maybe they should re-think that. Put Timbo and the crew on these songs.
