We Are The World 25 for Haiti / Official video now in first post.

Re: *VIDEO* Info regarding Prince & Paris WATW contribution.

If you think about it....

Isn't it amazing that all those artists are working for Paris, Prince and Blanket? :p

They are after all their Father's heir and Sony ATV's ownership belongs to them now.

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

i don't feel guilty, by someone else. it's not lost on me, that sony and the media and others prevented MJ from releasing charity songs for 911 and Katrina, due to hate and politics. now, they want to re do we are the world, while the original is now on itunes. the media wanted to convince me that MJ was in financial trouble, and i'm supposed to believe it, just because they said so. now, they do this 'project', and i'm supposed to believe they're charitable, just because the media says so. well..i don't. i believe they're being political, and defraying the cost of making a new song. they go through all the trouble to do this, when the original is now available. i feel that my money is more likely to go to charity if i buy a copy of This Is It.
i'd rather just send money for Haiti, on my own, instead of through their 'fundraisers'. i just don't feel good about them. i can move on, but the past is not lost on me.

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

OMG!

I can't believe they said Lionel and Quincy produced WATW. Michael did! He even has the demo to prove it. Quincy and Lionel just helped with the production.

Re: We Are The World to be re-recorded for Haiti.

My problem isnt only about Michael's vocals being taked away, it's just what the song was all about, what the artists went through and what the purpose was.

I love Quincy Jones, but he's making the wrong choice.

I understand what they want to do for Haiti....but they just need to record a new song for the victims of Haiti instead of recycling an old song, they deserve a song with hardwork and dedication.

There are mandatory rules for this song such as chemistry, talent, etc etc which is why you can't just throw a bunch of big name artists together..look at the mess that was "What's Going On" when it got remade, it was terrible.

No half assing was allowed in recording this song, why????
because they were trying to get a message across!!! All of the artists involved felt the same exact way, it won't happen this time around.

Don't get me wrong I always imagined other artists performing it onstage....but that's the thing...ONSTAGE!!!

Do the right thing for these people and record a new song.

Exactly.....

Also.....Simon Cowell is releasing his fund-raising song either this week or next.........If that is a new song then it'll make Quincy, Lionel and Co. look like fools and it is less likely that it will reach number one........As it stands, it has no chance of getting the sales figures of the original!!!!

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

What the shit? MJ wrote like 95% of the song! and Lionel Richie wrote only two lines of the song and now they are taking credit for it?
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Too bad. They basically just covered R.E.M's Everbody Hurts... xD

Well the fact that they have to re-record a classic instead of writing a completely new and more appropriate song says a lot about the music industry.

If Michael was alive, he would of wrote a new song to help the suffering survivors of the terrible Earthquake..........and he would also write another song to help those still in poverty in Africa, Asia and other parts of the World!!!!!

I know its for a good cause but you can't replace legends. not just mj obviously but your taking away the orginality of: stevie wonder, cyndi lauper ... and putting newbies on ?? thats kind of insult. but i'm not complaining- just sayin

*church*
Everyone summed it up

This is a mess and plain lazy...the intensity being better than 1985??
we will see....the song will tell it all

I must admit I'm to know that Faith, EWF, and alot of the older artists are involved and it's not complete current mainstream trash....but I agree 100% with vncwilliam.

I wonder whatever happened to that album Tony Bennett was making with Stevie Wonder. I guess Brian Wilson is the replacement for Bob Dylan, the 1960s era act. I think Ann Wilson could do the Cyndi Lauper part. Tyrese is going to be playing Teddy Pendergrass in an upcoming movie. I hope he's miming to the orginal recordings, because he is no Teddy, lol.

Re: *VIDEO* Info regarding Prince & Paris WATW contribution.

It is looking like that may have changed. They aren't there. ET is there and was reporting that they were coming but they deleted mentioning the kids about 15 minutes ago. I am thinking they changed their minds or Katherine decided not to allow them.

If it's true can you blame her??

the kids being there with Eminem??? who bashed their dad???

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

All this bickering about a charity song? Its good that all of these stars have come together to do this song. Some may have alterior motives, but I think most, if not all of them are them are there to do what they can. These people have very hectic schedules and could be somewhere brokering a deal and making their own money, but instead, they're trying to help out.

We need to stop dwelling on what some of these artists have done in the past and focus on right now and the future.

So this tells me that nobody is bothered to write a song to help the poor suffering survivors of the Haiti Earthquake.

Michael would not be happy!

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

50 times greater huh? Whatever.

There are so many random names. I am looking forward to hearing this...and with the energy 50 times greater, it will be bombastic.

When was the last time Faith Evans had a song on the charts?

Isn't lil Wayne due to report to a jail officer today? I thought Feb 1st was the deadline for him to start his sentence.

Is Eminem really on the song? Because if he is, I will not be getting the song. I will donate again to Doctors without borders. I refuse to support anything this guy does.

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

^Hey Hey now
Faith's talent is amazing..she doesnt need to be on the charts
I'm actually impressed the picked her
DUDEEE!!!:bugeyed:bugeyed:bugeyed I skipped over his name...he was soo disrespectful to Mike...

And jamie Foxxx...He started to show love to Mike after his passing. B4 that if y'all remember when he was on Oprah...not good...*rolls eyes*

I don't remember that, I only remember doing paradies
I never saw Jamie do anything hateful to Mike....but I could be wrong.

I know Jamie Foxx is in it to sing Ray Charles's parts....Jamie does a mean Ray Charles impersonation I cannot lie...but he aint no Ray.

However I know that what Eminem did was straight up disrepectful and cruel...Michael could have died from that injury and he made fun of it, not only that he implied he was a child molestor. For him to be on this record is an absolute joke, he makes fun of homosexuals, he disrespects woman and he's hateful......am I the only one who sees a problem here???

They are going to try and shove this song down everyone's throats.

Don't bother, nobody's going to listen to you. I said this same thing in the other thread. :p

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

Seriously though they aren't talented enough to produce and write a song of their own... So they take Michael's ideas and creativity and remake it.

OMG!!!!
I just saw this and I feel.... I feel... isn't this a bit TOO much?
Good they are making this again, but... why the kids there?
What's the point? What for? This is not meant to honor Michael, this is meant to help Haití... or not?

What's this? Eminem?????? :ermm:

Now I'm upset! We should make it known that we are happy they are leaving MJ's vocals on the song but not happy with Lil Wayne and Eminem being there. Why are they are they there? They don't stand for love or togetherness but calling women out there names and pimping grandstanding. first and foremost..Mike did not care for either of them and they disrespected him. I hope 3T or Randy (even though he gettin' on my nerves boot them out) lol!

I have no idea how true this is, but after the grammys it was said that the kids actually wanted to take part and continue to spread love like their dad would have wanted.

If that's what they wanted then I see no problem there, he raised some great kids.

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

What was on the live stream? I missed it. Did anyone record it/save it?:(

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

Is this meant to honor Michael in anyway?
I have just arrived today, so I am late in news, but so far, after all I have read, it seems nothing about Michael.
hints?

Re: *VIDEO* Info regarding Prince & Paris WATW contribution.

Ok.... I am confused.... all this is very confussing to me.

I'd better get some sleep. This is too much for weak me

Re: *VIDEO* Info regarding Prince & Paris WATW contribution.

I rather they keep Mike's voice and the children can sing along with the chorus (if this is even true.)

Honestly, I don't want people to start ragging on the kids' voices (they ain't going to be clones of their Dad's talent) but then you never know they probably can sing.

i too afraid that the media will start judging their voices.
i don't want them to bash the kids like the way they did to mike.
it would be a very cruel and terrible thing to the kids.

Re: We Are The World to be re-recorded for Haiti.

I don't think MJ's voice will be included, I am sure instead they will include the jackson nephews. Because according the the AP, none of the original performers are on the remake.

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

Ugh, this "We are the World" thing is stressing me outttt. Don't they have to ask Michael's estate for permission to use the song? It just seems all so botched together, I mean EMINEM is on this?

Please. Make it stopppp
