[UK] Channel Five to air Michael Jackson's 30th Anniversary Concert over Christmas

Five plots 'CSI' Christmas special

Five has announced plans to screen a CSI special as part of their Christmas lineup.

Introduced by William Peterson, Grissom's Greatest will feature 16 of the iconic character's best episodes.

Also planned is two-hour festive special Most Shocking Celeb Moments Of The Year, which will look at star stories which have shocked in 2009 - including Katie Price's I'm A Celebrity... exit.

Other programmes in the schedule include a screening of Michael Jackson's 30th anniversary concert, and a back-to-back screening of all ten episodes screened so far of FlashForward, which will go out on one of the digital channels.

Five's channel controller Richard Wolfe said of the lineup: "Christmas on Five is all about over-indulgence - draw the curtains, put an extra log on the fire, crack open the big tin of Quality Street and gorge yourself on our shamelessly entertaining festive fayre."

obviously the shocking no.1 celeb moment is gonna be mjs death followed by the concert


if i do watch it, it will be the first time i saw the concert on tv since i first saw it back in 2003, I was 13 then :-|

Hope they show a lot of MJ related in December to raise his sales.
 
Haven't seen this in soooo long! Can't wait to see it again! And I bet the top shocking celebrity moment of 2009 is Michael's death.
 
OMG seriously!!! Without sounding like a depressive, this is like the best news I've heard in months and now I'm actually excited about christmas. I love 30th Anniversary MSG concert, it's prob one of my faves, I think about it a lot (from Chris tucker's jokes/imitations to the end when they join Mike on stage) and watch it on special occasions (to sort of 'save' it lol). I recorded it in 2003 but have parts missing.

Was there some controversy when ITV showed it in 2003, and why's it not on DVD?

Yay! I've only got it on VHS from when it originally aired all those years ago! Will defo Sky+ it!
 
At least this is some good news. I need a dvd copy of this concert. I wonder if they would have put it on had things not worked out like this.
 
are you sure its on, cant find it on channel 5s website etc.

So have Channel 5 bought the rights to this? Was originally shown on ITV1 in 2003 a few days after Living with MJ.
 
I don't have a video recorder anymore nor do i have sky to record from there. i will have to find someone that can record this for me. i have only ever watched clips on you tube. i so want to have this.
