his voice, his magical voice was the most shocking and surprising to me after watching This Is It. I just can't believe how amazing Michael sounded after all these years. !!

IJCSLY - Just WOW
J5 Medley / Black or White - he was downplaying the live singing , but outstanding just the same.
Billie Jean - there is really something special about this song and Michael. You just can'take your eyes off him ! And Michael saying at the end "at least,you got a feel of it" . Michael , you just don't know what it does to us fans just watchng this rehearsal clip .
Human Nature - one of my MJ favorite songs, this always gets to me everytime

Well I saw film for second time yesterday and I have to say I am a little conflicted in my opinion anyway..For sure certain songs like wbss and human nature and ijcsly were live..Certainly the ad libs were but yea I am sure they were live

But in todays generation I wonder what revolutionary ways there are to make miming or lip synching undetectable..I am always reminded of Pavarotti singin Nessun Dorma in his last performance and until I heard he was singing over a recording he made a few days before, I thought it was live..But no , he and the orchestra were all pretending lol..Even the orchestra ! lol.......But beforehand I was happy with my evaluation of him singing live, until I got the confirmation.

My point is, there is a possibility for me that mj recorded some of these songs beforehand and made them appear to be as if they were live..So he would leave out lines, sing it in a way to suggest he was moving at same time...Maybe he recorded them for the tour, but some of the 'live' songs like b/w or earth song or stlys just seemed too clean and hearable..I probably am wrong but hearing it again in cinema and comparing it to when he was speaking into the mike, plus this 'fact' but who knows...If you believe mj's autopsy report it says his lungs were severly damaged..So surely him singing great in alot of songs wouldn't necessarily add up? One of those must be more of a lie because you can't have that bad a set of lungs and be able to sing so amazing..The points contradict themselves.

When I saw the film , I thought there is no sureee way of knowing what is live..Even the bits that sound so live, I shudder to think what technology is around these days..That is something none of us know..So I am a little skeptikal...Perhaps it was pre recorded in a clever way or perhaps alot of it was live...It doesn't really matter but in terms of how strong his lungs were, that is what I find interesting..How difficult was it for him to sing? He did seem at times to not be in pain, but very aware of preserving ( You would assume it was for the tour, but in all honesty he never says I need to preserve it for the tour).

What else would he be saving it for, he's not gonna say, "Im saving my voice, cos, if you didnt know, we are touring in 3 weeks" LOL

lol no no , I mean something like ' saving it because my lungs are damaged ( due to lupus or however you spell it ? )..and i need to preserve my throat because I can't sing at will anymore ...I just wonder how often mj was allowed to sing full out because I personally believe there was a problem never acknowledged for whatever reason..But something was different

Have u noticed how MJ sounds amazing and looked amazing yet now people are saying that hes miming from previous performances because he sounded so good lol. I think they just cant believe how good he sounds so there using this as an excuse. They wouldnt change it because its like the last time were going to c MJ perform so they would have left it the way it was in rehearsal and not altered it, they wanted to show the fans the magic that they were going to witness. anybody who says he was miming in beat it ect are just being rediculous.

Earth Song is definitely playback.
Billie Jean was demo version, but some parts sounded live.

I don't think so. Did he ever perform it live on the HIStory tour? I don't recall him ever doing that.

It sounds genuinely live to me.

The "Don't you ever come around "chere" or "shere" or whatever sounded like it did on the HIStory tour. It didn't sound like the album but it sounded exactly like I've heard it somewhere before.
 
He sang it that way on the birthday party concert for the Sultan of Brunei back in 96. But it's definately not the same vocal from back then. He messes up the words lots on that show and just makes random stuff up.

I'm still fairly confident it's a new live vocal.
 
to short. The movie i watched it showed u most of the songs all the way through apart from 2 lol 2 or 3.
 
if u listen closely to beat it, the vocals for the chorus resemble that of the Victory Tour 84 L.A/

no im not saying that he used old professional audio but it's worth a listen.
 
al live, even when sining beat it, hesand anote down, to preserve his voice, u can tell when he saids beat it , beat it... plus many times he sounded perfect then he would stop, let it play and start again on watever it was

that doesnt make any sense...he didnt know this was gonna be a film! why would he be acting?

this is getting silly now, theres michael fans on this forum doubting and judging him (im not referring to the post im quoting, just in general).

Thank you finally someone who has sense. Lets start our own fan group called the people who are against other people who support michael but always criticize him.
 
I think Earth song may be live. He sang 'Flowering fields' in both verses which doesn't occur in the actual song or the demo.

How could anyone have missed "Jam". It was def. in the film and MJ sounded great.

I was also pretty sure that Earth Song was fully live up until the cherry picker, when it was the What About Us demo.
 
I love all the tracks .. because they are LIVE .. all of them ... love it
