no your not the only one,i too think it is fabulous,and i don,t care when it was recorded,we are getting a song that we have never heard before from michael,
the only thing i don,t agree with is sony the phoney not releasing it as a single,

this is a lesson in subjectivity. i'm not going to be one of those who thinks he can guess the era. due to all the people that tried to imitate his voice, and all the info given out about the 80's vocals and such, and all the remixes of past music, and all the people trying to capitalize off of his cash cow unique special voice, my mind is having a hard time with what i am hearing. all i can say is it sounds great to my ears..it sounds like the Invincible era voice TO ME. i've never been disappointed with the sound of his voice from any era. and nothing has changed. all i can say is, i remember when there was a time, when people laughed at, and scorned the idea of the sound of MJ's voice, when he was starting out in the 'adult' stage. they've never heard anything like it. so, it was treated negatively, like an alien from outer space. now..it has become and continues to be the most sought after singing voice in history. and that includes any genre of music, including opera. and he has been and continues to be hated out of envy for it, as well as universally loved for it.
and, of course, everybody wants to have the 'scoop' on first leak/release/'accidental' release/leak.

having said all that..i'm having trouble. there's armageddon in my brain about if this is him or not, because of all the fraudulent attempts to exploit his voice, through imitators, and i guess i need to hear the official Sony release, in Monday morning, to be absolutely sure it's him and the song. however, i'm feeling the magic, listening to this. Congratulations, Sony, i've become your slave.

I love it! But the track sounds a little un-polished to me. It sounds like it's almost finished, but not quite done. Either way, his voice definitely sounds so young! Yet the background "ooh's" near the end sound more new and deeper sounding. I will judge the rest when I hear the new song tomorrow night.

Did Michael Jackson want to release This Is It with 80s vocals?

Maybe he composed the new music? Or maybe he didn't do anything at all, maybe he didn't want it to be released... and Sony used a random song with the same name to go with the movie.

I pray to God that's not true.
 
I can't listen. But it can't get to number one can it.. because it isn't being released as a single, so it won't even be on the singles charts?
 
It's absolutely great to hear his voice. I have one question though...did he intend to sing this song in the concerts? The voice does sound like the 80's period to me. Maybe we're going to hear a different version on monday? We'll see...:)
 
Only a few of the lines from the 'I Never Heard' lyrics are the same as what Mike is singing. He must have done an alternate version.

A 43 second snippet has accidentally been leaked through Sony Music’s Japanese website, the new song appears to be a Jackson’s song recorded in 1980. The new snippet has already found its way onto YouTube –

Wow. He sounds so good. Hearing this small snippet made me tear up. :cry: I want him back, damn it!


And this song isn't being released as a single?!?! WTF SONY?!

This would've gone to the top of the freakin' charts!!! ARGH!
