The MJ Estate Has Updated the FAQ Page on the Official Website

I can’t believe this is real. So tone deaf it’s insane.

Get these people out ASAP.

Music is not necessarily about being polished like the super clean Quincy Jones production style or doing dozens of takes to make the songs sound "perfect" like Steely Dan. It'a also not about singing pretty like a Celine Dion either. Some music like blues and folk, many of the singers sing in a raw rough style like Howlin' Wolf. The blues songs would not have the same effect if Donna Summer or an opera singer sung them. In a lot of music like this, mistakes are left on the recordings, because being "perfect" is not as important as the feeling or emotion of the song. Not everybody listens to Top 40 pop radio. Punk rock was about not playing well like the progressive rock & arena rock bands they were rebelling against. Funk music was less about melody and more about the rhythm & groove. Hip hop is often about the beat and the rhymes over anything else. As far as the drug part goes, you must not listen to much music, because a lot of musicians took drugs including some of those classical music guys. So did some of the session musicians who played on Mike's records.
 
Yeah, it’s like saying Chuck Berry is a shitty guitar player because he can’t pull off the Beat it solo. :D

Michael has alot of unrelease stuff. alot of them are in other places because michael didn't want anyone to get a hold to them like family wise. also he didn't want some of his stuff to be release so i respect that.
 
So dear estate, should you eventually decide to release more songs, do the proper research which you mostly haven't done in the past. All the people which were originally involved in a song need to be contacted (now, when they are still alive) Otherwise you have really no clue what is what. Which files belong to which songs, what is the latest version, preferred mix of MJ, intended direction, is there maybe a newer reworked version together with another than the original producer, do we as the estate have all the songs there are. If not, what needs to be done? ,...
A lot of people haven't been contacted or in a very limited capacity which then basically went nowhere,
which is evident at least from the people interviewed on mjcast.Above all Michael Prince and Brad Buxer, Neff-u for the latest stuff. Also RedOne,Will i am, Rodney Jerkins and the people involved in Bahrain. Also the guy which was involved with the classical album project. This will basically cover the 2000's and more. Maybe the estate could listen in and learn.

A key point, and also the reason for the urgency that some fans are expressing. Information will get lost over time, as fewer and fewer of the originally involved people will be around.
 
Feel like I read a totally different thing from some of you. The answers left me feeling hopeful for the future. They hinted towards the HIStory 25 project being unveiled sometime soon, which means we will get a release of whatever that may be soon. Even talking about remastering the short films and a Bad Tour film release.

And btw, if the Prince Estate had to deal with a hit piece like Leaving Neverland I’m sure they wouldn’t be making many releases either.

The Michael album’s 3 fake songs are unforgivable for as long as they remain on the album, but the Estate seems to be distancing itself from the project.

I just really want a release of something, anything, soon. And we could be close to an announcement of some kind.
 
I just said this in a 2000 Watts thread, but I have come to the conclusion that some of these responses may not be recent since I read from one of the responses, before it has been modified to be up to date, about something taking place "next year" in 2018, signifying that this FAQ page was opened or the first question was answered in 2017.

It’s not an entirely new page, some sections have only been modified or updated.

Exactly. I just wanted to point out that this page may not be as new as we probably think it to be.

This also makes me wonder if the response about the short films being upgraded is recent because if it isn't, then not only has this project been planned for a while, but it also begs the question: is that one Bad World Tour concert on film still missing?

It would not be unreasonable to side with the affirmative on that.

Since they don't want to release anything interesting or artistically meaningfull (aka demos, live & untouched finished tracks), can we at least have the option to buy these albums on vinyl (no shitty picture discs please) :
- HIStory
- Blood on the Dancefloor
- Xscape (with the original versions on a separate disc)
- The Ultimate Collection

Eleven years later we're still waiting for proprer represses of his discography, it's not like he releasing dozens of albums during his lifetime. Surely if the Prince Estate can repress One Nite Alone (a fan-club only album) and the Bowie Estate can repress dozens of obscure albums, the best Estate in the world (lmao) can do it :rolleyes:

I do not particularly care about the Prince Estate either. It is more the fact that the MJ Estate are acting like they are somehow doing better than them due to MJ being more popular, and trying to somehow take credit for MJ's art continuing to stream well. MJs music is still popular because he is MJ. The Estate trying to act like they are solely responsible for MJ being extremely popular when it comes to his music and art (as he was his entire life) just goes to show how the estate view him and his art imo. Always talking about numbers as if that is the most important thing, whilst releasing tacky merch and constantly lying to fans, releasing fake songs etc. They never cease to surprise me with their arrogance. Also, before anyone says, they have released a few projects that I have enjoyed, but that doesn't really make up for the general mediocrity when it comes to the estate and their vision and what they see as a priority when it comes to MJ. He is a brand to them only, not an artist or man, and to see them try to use quotes by him and say that they follow his philosophy is laughable at best.

Ah yes, that makes more sense. Thanks. Although, I did find the quote in question: "We are not planning to release a soundtrack album for Michael Jackson ONE. However, we are planning a big birthday celebration for August 29 next year (2018) to celebrate Michael’s birthday."
 
Michael had several philosophies that we use as guides. One of those is, “The quality goes in before the name goes on.”

So, this is a surprise. Don’t know what to think of this. Mixed feelings. All hope is gone concerning the Bad Tour on film it still seems.

Oh, that Jacobshagen dude again. He’s actually facing charges for fraud here in Germany, but I don’t know what the current status of that case is.
 
When it got to the point where they mentioned that all the "other" Estates are catching up to them? That's when I knew it was all a joke. I simply closed it down and moved on.

Guys, seriously...

They're not going to release anything whilst this LN shit is hanging over them. Not until it's over! It would be commercial suicide if they did.

If somehow those two somehow win, I fear we can kiss goodbye to any future releases.
