My father is an avid birder. I am more into evertebrates, but have become more and more interested in birds.
I love birds and I love to watch them but I can't do the actual birding thing. I can't be bothered to try to distinguish all the little brown jobs from each other. Does my head in, lol.
 
They really are but, man, they fly fast.
They are good swimmers, too!

No, I know most of these. I just hadn't stopped to consider if it was just an English language thing. And I mean, English English, not American English but also, not realising other languages didn't have their equivalent.

P.S. my top fave is the skylarks. :)
