Not sure if anybody saw my question a few pages back, please can somebody let me know...

In November there was no mention of Speed Demon. I guess there is an edited version, so my questions are 1)Is this an extended version of what was on TV last November or the same thing? and 2) If so, what more has been included? Is there a section on Speed Demon?

Yes, there is a section on Speed Demon. It's a full 2-hour version of the film shown in theaters and on BBC, it includes all Bad songs.

The version that was shown on US tv was about an hour long. This dvd/blu ray contains the full version which was shown on UK tv as well as various film festivals. This full version is two hours and ten minutes long.

There is a lot more stuff. Each song is covered including Speed Demon.

Thanks! I will definitely order it. I couldn't believe when there was no Speed Demon before I was like "Hello? A dance off with a cartoon rabbit--- what could be cooler then that??" hahaha

APOM is mixed similar to the Wembley DVD, but not exactly the same (both only have drums in the center channel, but the new DVD has the crowd mixed in there as well). MITM is exactly the same.

My dad is gonna order both DVD & Blu-Ray for me, when I got them I can pay him back. Can't wait.

Why oh why couldn't they mix these things like the History and Dangerous dvds? (and why oh why couldn't whoever produced those dvds have handled Wembley and Visions...)

My family's got no internet because the antenna for the internet signal has got a technical issue and won't get the internet back for a few days so I'll have to wait until then. But I still gave them the address to the official MJ site.

Don't mind him, he lives in Northern Ontario! Where they don't have to wait for an overcrowded pool on a hot day, they just jump in one of the many beautiful lakes :)

We have cable internet hooked to wifi routers in modern parts of the world :D

Anyhoo, the one thing that still pisses me off about Bad 25 is that Spike used the Wembley footage of MITM.
I mean seriously? Really? REALLY??

The footage barely looks decent on the DVD, but then you zoom in on the picture to fill the 1080p/16x9 space too? It looks HORRIBLE.

I'm sure as hell he had access to the film footage used for Moonwalker. And even if he didn't use that, there are tons of u-matics of other Bad Tour shows to source that song from! He could have even used Madison Square Garden!!

This was a documentary, so it's not like audio from a soundboard mix would have ruined the the film (and he could have even used Wembley 15th/16th audio and set it to any video).

It's just a bizarre contrast from the Another Part Of Me segment and the MITM segment.

You know damn well they have film footage from Moonwalker stuff, and u-matics of Bad tour shows.
Poor choice to end the awesome doc with...

Received this a few days ago and watched it a couple times now, once in surround sound and then with my best headphones..........SOOOO cool! Glad to finally see the full unedited version in English!!!!

I know right...It's amazing! I've had mine for almost an entire week & I don't watch it ALL the time, but whenever I do, i just love it :)

I can't believe things like this really matter to you. When I watch Mike performing MITM live, I am just blown away by the magic, the live vocals & ad-libs, the spins, the passion, the whole 'being-carried-awayness-of-it-all'. I don't complain the the footage could be in better quality.

This is not what music and performance is all about, otherwise why would you ever go to a gig when people get in your way, your view is blocked and the sound may be distorted. You go for the thrill, the experience, the desire, the craving, the magic. Not the pixels or high definition.

I would not complain one iota about this and this is why I adore 'Bad-Live at Wembley'. It's perfect. It may not be high definition but it's the most perfect spectacle I've ever seen.

I agree but I would rather see the best tour ever in HD and it is possible. Some Bad Tour concerts were shot with film cameras. Imagine full Bad Tour concert in quality like that Another Part of Me and Moonwalker Man in the Mirror.

The resolution of U-Matic tapes and VHS tapes are relatively the same. Look at the bonus clip of The Way You Make Me Feel from the July 15th U-Matic. The quality is only slightly better than the rest of the DVD. Had he used any U-Matic tape, it would have been practically the same quality as Man in the Mirror. And as I've said, we don't know if the estate even has tapes from Madison Square Garden. They're missing a large majority of songs and tapes, and as far as we know, MSG could be one.

Besides, the Man in the Mirror performance from Wembley is better than the Moonwalker footage. I, as well as many other fans, prefer performance quality over video quality. Wembley is Michael's BEST concert, and it was released WITH the B25 package, so it would make sense to include that footage in there.

No. If that ever happens I won't be buying the project, and I know many others wouldn't either. If they don't have usable audio from a show clip to use, don't use it. Fans always complain about genuine releases without any extreme editing, and I know this would be a catastrophe.

And I didn't say the performance was bad. Yes, it's wonderful, great, all that. I dunno why you're going on about the Wembley DVD, when I'm talking about the Bad 25 doc.

I guess you didn't understand my post...
I'll rephrase: In BAD 25, Spike used the already poor-looking copy of MITM rather than editing together stuff shot on film for Moonwalker OR using another u-matic performance.

This isn't about the resolution of tapes and what not.
The problem isn't that he zoomed in on the picture to fill the space. It's that he used the Wembley dvd video at all.

And that July 15th thing on the extras was TOTALLY dumbed down. At it's best, a u-matic copy of the show will look like the L.A. 89 footage on the ONES dvd (or the promo tape from that show that came out).

I don't even know if that July 15th thing came from the u-matic. It has a different quality look to it, but I think it intentionally doesn't look as pretty as the rest of the main feature. It would totally be out of place.

Another show/copy would have looked A LOT better than the Wembley VHS-sourced version. (Even those Lounis videos of Tokyo and Rome look clearer and sharper).

And we don't know if Wembley was his best concert. Have any of us seen all 123 shows to compare? It just happens that that's the one they released. Bad Tour in Denver or some random city could have been better for all we know.

And to go back to my original point. It's a strange choice to use that footage when compared to APOM. I mean, why not just use Wembleys performance of Another Part Of Me?
With all the film footage of MITM, they could have compiled a new edit.

Or whatever.
Just making the best out of this situation :)

I understand your view and there is certainly nothing wrong with holding that opinion for yourself. but I also understand why Spike used that footage. I's t because he was really impressed with the performance (It moved him) as he stated and because he was promoting the BAD 25 release and the never before seen Wembley DVD performance with his documentary. It was to be part of the BAD 25 release. Thats why it's in there.
