I'm so sorry to hear the news. So many artists I grew up with are either gone or are leaving us. Prince was a great artist for sure. My heart goes out to his fans who are grieving now.

I, like everyone, was shocked to hear of Prince's passing. His talent and energy was phenomenal, and I use that word literally.. He was a phenomenon, elemental, capricious, those words describe him and his music.

I remember playing with John at the Roxy in Hollywood, back in the late seventies. Prince came to every performance, and just sat in the back, watching.

When I met him about a year later, he gave me a cordial hello. I mention that, because it was so unusual to get response from him.

He was a complicated man, who possessed enormous talent. He will be sorely missed.

I have always been a Prince fan. Over his all too brief career he firmly established himself among the legends of R&B and Pop. His live shows were always electrifying and powerful. For those in the USA, right now there's a special episode on of the news program Nightline on ABC. There will also be a feature on tomorrow on Good Morning America.
 
It still doesn't even feel real. I don't know why. :(
 
This is beautiful reading all of this stuff. The princeorg has been down most of the day, so its great to our Michael Jackson fan community here has shown so much love and understanding. It is beautiful. I have actually being playing the song "Gone too soon" as it reminds me so much of how I feel about Prince and Michael.

The best hing about Prince's body of work is that there's so much discover.

As a medium fan who only has 4 or 5 albums plus the greatest hits, it means there's still 30 plus albums to discover!

That's why legends never die.

So glad I took the opportunity to see him two years ago.

I side eye Obama about that to this day.
Even with all that he's accomplished getting people to praise MJ is like getting blood from a stone.
Honestly it seems like a lot of people are jealous of what Michael has accomplished (being the best solo artist to ever do it) so they like to say negative things about him to make themselves feel better.
 
You're right Girl, what a loss for music lovers.Today The Spanish girl selected for the next video was on tv speaking very nicely of Him, she had really great time making it. Such a great musician he was, 1958 was a good year for the birth of geniuses.
