Good old corporations, with their backwards logic. Here's a hint: think about the consumer and their wants and grow with the times, and maybe then you'll be able to line your pockets AND come out with products people want.

People don't go to movies because they'll have to wait for a DVD, they go to a movie because they want to go to the movie. They want to eat popcorn and see it on a big screen. The DVD coming out before Christmas wouldn't prevent that. Hell, look at how many of us thought this film would be on disc before Christmas and still saw the film anyways.

You know it is possible that there might be a digital version of the movie included with the blu-ray, so it can be played on standard dvd players as well. I have been seeing that happen more and more with the blu-rays. So you wouldn't have to buy a blu-ray player to watch it.

I've never seen something like this, makes me wonder...
But I have a blu ray player anyway!

Blue Ray movies are incredible looking. You can practically see every strand of hair on a person's scalp. Its a special disc with much more capacity than a regular DVD. Which means that when they transfer film files or music to blue ray, there's little to no compression involved. Thats why music/SFX sounds much sharper in BR format and the picture quality far clearer.

If they add 3d segments, they can do it on DVD as well. DVDs are capable of handling clear enough visuals to promote 3d. But, i can imagine sony using the 3D stuff to market in the blue ray format.

2 to 3 extra hours of footage?! Thats awesome! Can't wait!! :dancing:

This is how you convince MJ-fans to buy a blu-ray player:

The dvd will be so sharp, you can just see every wrinkle in Michaels shirt.

The Blu-Ray version will have more extra material. - At least that's what have previously been posted in here.

I think blu ray and DVD will be the same... it's always so.... mayby there will be more DVD in order to have more space....

Just buy a ps3 if you need a blu-ray player.

If you have a normal sized tv then the dvd will do just fine.
If you have a big screen full-hd tv, blu-ray is a must.

That's what we did, we bought a ps3 for the blu ray player..It's the cheaper way to go...Way more expensive to buy a blu ray player on it's own..I'm so excited when it comes out!!!

Maybe the 30-minute Creating A Comeback featurette could include some unreleased performances. But I have to say that if that's all we get, I'm pretty disappointed.

A ps3 also has a big harddrive on which you can store MP3's, divx/xvid movies and a lot more.

You can also use your ps3 to stream Full-HD movies from your pc to your ps3 and watch them on a HD-TV.

The ps3 can do a lot more than a normal blu-ray player, and it's cheaper.

Well, but still I just don't need it and bought me a perfect blu ray player from philips for 125€ and it plays everything! Even dvd double layer and wmv, divX, mpeg and so on........!

Well there is a single disc edition dvd and a 2 disc edition dvd. So I'm thinking the 2 disc version will have the same kind of extras as the Blu-ray.

I think it should go to DVD instead of to the theaters. I mean Michael is so special to me and I don't want to be around a bunch of popcorn eating rude people in a theater. It would be a much more magical experience in the comfort of my own home and around the people I love. And of course I don't want people to see me choking on my tears lol.
