Putnam asked her about her decision to sue AEG Live in September 2010. She said she didn't discuss with her children or her grandchildren before filing the lawsuit.

"This was your decision alone," Putnam asked.

She said it was.

So not only Katherine denied involvement of some siblings - such as Randy who publicly took credit for this lawsuit- but she also testified that she didn't talk with her grandchildren - which would mean Prince, Paris and Blanket...
 
Passy001, I appreciate your response but, it is your opinion as I have mine. No one knows but Michael what he would have done when posed with the proposition of two shows a week as per AEG and this expert. It is a projection. I did not say anyone in this thread was dismissive of Michael’s thoughts so I do not appreciate others in this thread saying that I am being dismissive. It is ironic the person labeled as dismissive supports the plaintiffs in this trial.

Do you feel it is dismissive to say that Michael “does not make sense” because he brought a motor home for his mother when that is what he did? It is monies “thrown away” in your opinion, but, obviously not a waste to Michael.

Agreed. Randy pretty much admited on twitter they are behind this. And I'm not surprised they didn't bother asking MJ's kids if they want to be involved in this mess.

You posted angry tweets from Randy and he had every right to be angry if that is how he felt. However, NONE of the tweets show him publicly taking credit for the filing of this lawsuit as you previously posted.

Of course he may have had the conversation with his mother but, that is not what you previously posted. It was his mother's decision to file and she said it was her sole decision.

Spin it however anyone would like, Randy did not take credit for this lawsuit. He tweeted his frustration and eventually his support of the suit.

don't you realize that's your opinion and I'm entitled to have my opinion? To me saying "I promise" and "I'm doing my best to keep my promise" is taking credit for it. ( promise: to declare solemnly that one will follow a particular course of action) If you don't agree fine but please refrain from trying to push your opinion as facts.

even if you don't think Randy took credit for it, his tweets clearly show he had discussions and knowledge about this lawsuit before it was filed.

What I don't understand is why does Katherine have to lie in such a trivial matter? She could say: "yes, I discussed it with my children and we decided that I file this lawsuit". I just don't get it why she has to lie under oath when it's not even necessary.

allowed(motion denied)- Motion 4 - Michael's siblings have or had financial problems

- Gifts from Michael Jackson to his siblings are relevant to the issue of Jackson's damages and for the purposes of cross examination/impeachment of siblings.
- However presentation of the siblings entire finances is irrelevant and presents undue consumption of time.

combined with

allowed (motion denied)- Motion 8 - KJ did not file a suit against Murray

- AEG is precluded from pointing out that Murray is not a defendant in the lawsuit (see reason cited at motion 7 above)
- However AEG is allowed to present a comparative fault defense and verdict form.
- AEG is permitted to question Katherine Jackson as to her motive (financial) for filing the lawsuit.

because AEG might try to say the siblings were getting gifts / monetary support from Michael hence they are involved in this lawsuit and this lawsuit is financial motivated
 
she already said the decision not to seek money from murray was financially motivated . Trust me she will ask for a lot of breaks because she knows she is not saying the truth

I personally expect AEG trying to portray this lawsuit as an extortion attempt - Putnam already said it to media.
 
All Mrs. Jackson has to say is, I decided to sue CM Boss AEG. And keep saying I don't Remember. It worked for RP, I am sure it will work for Mrs. Jackson.

Ivy, you said Randy publicly took credit for the lawsuit and the tweets you posted did not support that. If you are interpreting those tweets to mean that, it is your choice but, he did NOT publicly take credit for the lawsuit in those tweets. That is not my opinion that is fact in black and white as per the tweets.

Again, your post clearly stated he took credit publicly for the lawsuit and the tweets you posted did NOT support that. You are now saying that is your opinion/interpretation of the tweets. If Katherine testified she did not have the conversation with her children before filing then that is what she meant.

Maybe the defense will use these tweets and this interpretation in court Monday to impeach her if at all possible. The defense will then have to suggest that her children discussed this case with her and she was an active participant in that discussion. Note: if someone has a conversation without another’s participation, it is monologue, not a dialogue and that will mean she did not have the discussion before filing.

I wish the defense luck with that. Guess we will see what happens Monday!

Did someone call Michael a freak?

Sometimes I feel sorry for Katherine and other times she makes me mad. It has to be hard to lose a child and now she's in court and has to testify & probably she's tired of having to go to court every day. But she also is going through this trial for the wrong reasons. She knew Michael had problems, she heard it from her own sons but Michael denied it. Now she says nobody got Michael a doctor, why she's blaming someone else? They tried to get him help, the emails showed that. And what did Michael tell KO? "I'm fine". Almost the same answer Katherine got from Michael. She was the mother and didn't go any further, what did she expect from bus associates. To drag Michael by the ear to another doc & tell him that this will be the doc you will be seeing from now on? Sometimes it's hard for me to understand her ways. she's either blinded by her motherly emotions or she's blinded by money.

It can be true that she got tired by the time of the cross, but we'll see if she will keep getting tired. I would like if they ask her about what Joe said of her not wanting to invade Michael's privacy.

Overanalyzed? This is a civil suit and monies are only second in importance to the verdict, if favorable to the plaintiff. Of course the figures are going to be analyzed and analyzed, especially when they are the base for determining hundreds of millions in a judgment.

And if you view AEG culpable in MJ's death in getting him to do 50 shows, I'm surprised you use their figures to give merit to this expert's projections. AEG's expectations factored into killing him according to this suit, and these projections are even worse.

No, Katherine said Michael was not a freak. She didn't like the things people are saying about Michael. I have to say that even though I don't like this trial just reading what she was saying about Michael, I can't help but get emotional. I do believe she loved Michael. She talks about him in the present tense. Never "was" but Michael "is" I noticed.

Then please stop posting your opinion as facts. You are the one stubbornly pushing the idea that MJ could do 260 shows.

But your posts were dismissive of MJ's thoughts. You can be dismissive of MJ thoughts while supporting the plaintiff. the two are not mutually exclusive.

please go back and read my post again. I clearly stated that "It does not make sense", meaning your post in response to my post. anyways the argument was that MJ used the thriller 25 royalties to fund the purchase of the motor home. that was your opinion, and you conveniently cited Sullivan in support of that opinion. On the other hand I was opposed to such opinion as mere speculation given the severe financial constraints MJ was facing.
 
I find it odd that katherine says she didnt discuss bout making this case go to court with MJ3 and her children cuz especially since MJ3 are named in the case. Wouldnt she need the kids permission if they wanted to put their names for the case?
 
I thought Katherine’s testimony was very heartfelt and I am looking forward to her continued testimony on Monday. I learned more about Michael and the bond he shared with his children and mother.

Gerryevans, the jury will determine the damages. They may most likely find a “middle ground” between the figures projected by AEG and the expert. Maybe they will choose one or the other. I do not know. It is not me using AEG’s figures to give merit to the expert; it is the expert using AEG’s projections as per their emails and documents to arrive at his projections.

Just to clarify, I believe AEG negligently hired the doctor who caused Michael’s death which is why I would like to see a favorable verdict for the plaintiffs in this trial. I do not believe “getting him” to do the 50 shows cause his death but, it did put pressure on the doctor to get Michael to rehearsals for those 50 shows.

Passy001, the expert said Michael could do 260 shows and AEG said Michael could do 186. Both projections equate to two shows per week. Those are the facts, not my opinion. Again, they are projections. No one knows if Michael would agree to doing two shows a week for an extended period of time or not. We cannot look to past, public comments by Michael (or private) to definitively say he would or would not. If you prefer to use testimony and evidence, his daughter and son said their father told them he was doing a world wide tour and AEG's emails show they were planning it.

You will have to show me where I was dismissive of Michael thoughts so I can speak to it but, I am unsure what purpose it will serve in the thread. I read your previous posts quite clearly. You suggested that it did not “make sense” that Michael would pay for a motor home for his mother from his Thriller25 royalties. You suggested the only way Michael could afford the motor home would be to irresponsibly use his AEG advance that was solely for business purposes.
