Horrible what happens - a mass brainwashing. The 'obituary' part in the song making it seem like it's Jackson returned from the dead and it's purely weird. Then that Opis None weirdness screaming 'confusion', which is what is being created.

I think Opus none must have been the families way of saying this about what Sony is truying to do, however I would rather a copy of Opus None over that Breaking News --- because I can clearly hear Michael's voice and it's wonderful.

Sony pretty much confirmed what a lot of us thought was going on, MJ singing but with someone else adding a few vocals on the chorus or whatever, it's not a big deal. As someone mentioned he had this on History & Invincible tracks.

Off the top of my head I can't quite remember but Break of Dawn comes to mind? HIStory(song) isn't fully MJ.

Obviously there aren't loads but its not exactly unheard of for someone else to be present in a few background vocals of songs. It definitely isn't ideal in this case, its caused far too much controversy and problems, I like the track and I think Sony are telling the truth, but it still never should have been released.

EDIT: I'm more than happy to be corrected over this I'm no expert!

I would really like to have an independent expert audiologist appointed by the fanbase to run a confidential research on this.
I can't say I am convinced. Any expert hired by a party that has an invested interest in moving forward with the project may come up with a biased diagnosis for obvious reasons. Breaking News still doesn't sound like Michael Jackson to me despite all the confirmations listed above.

Unfortunately ppl like Bruce Swedien and Greg Philliganes were only POINTED AT by the statement. They are all under contract.

Sony's idea is to BRAINWASH us into thinking this is Michael Jackson. The song's already stuck in my head, but for other reasons (it's ridiculously funny "Michael Jackson!")... BUT I WILL NOT FALL FOR IT!

For once I am supporting his family because they are right!

If they were going to have an extra background vocalist then they should have included it in the song's description before the song went online. I'm still very very suspicious of this track. I get the feeling that they think the more they tell us it's him, the more we're going to believe it. Then again... if it really is him, that's what they would do.

I have to say this statement has thrown me somewhat, yet I still think back to the first moment I heard the song and couldn't enjoy it for what it was because of how it plainly didn't sound like him. I've heard MJ songs with other people on backing vocals before and never felt like this.

He knows more, and he will have to tell us. It seems he was in the room and at first people questioned whether it was Michael. After listening to it for some time, minds were changed. The controversy didn't ruin the magic for me- the release of BN ruined it.

Why would we want to go listen to it again? Why would we want Sony to have gotten Jason Malachi this time or whomever or whatever to butcher a song to the point we can't clearly hear Michael's voice? Should we give them another chance to try to fool us with what they percieve is a better impersonator. I removed the link from my quote of you.

The more we go listen to that crappy track the more plays it gets and the more plays it gets the more amount of money Sony may try to pat the idiots who messed up the track in the first place.

Most fans were listening repeatedly hoping to be wrong and straining to hear Michael's voice in the midst f whatever that was. It was pure deception on Sony's part and we wont forgive them until they make it right.


I wont say he isn't in there at all but the audio was so bad that if he was in there we couldn't really tell.

While I was one of the people who initially believed this song to be completely fraudulent, after reading this and realizing that it would be ridiculous to dupe not only fans but themselves out of millions, there is really not much evidence or logic to prove all the conspiracy theories of "trying to destroy his legacy". I will take what Sony and the estate have to say because I can't keep beating my brain over and over again with all the suspicion.

I do not believe that Sony or Michael's estate is trying to be evil and trick us. Michael put these people in charge. He trusted them to do what is right for his legacy, fans, and family. I am going to trust in that and put this ordeal to rest within my own heart. I can't do it anymore. If you think about it logically, it doesn't make sense for them to release "fake" music when they have tons and tons of unreleased tracks just waiting to be heard. I believe they wanted to give us a glimpse of what MJ was doing and possibly planning on giving us before his untimely passing. This is a glimpse of what might have been.

I don't blame anyone for doubting or questioning, but the nastiness of it all has gone to extremes that are a tad embarrassing as MJ fans. Destroying his legacy? Really??? Come on, folks! That's not gonna happen and it can't ever happen. NO ONE and nothing can destroy the incredible musical legacy of the one and only Michael Jackson. There have always been "fake" Michael Jackson songs out there. Always. How does this make any difference? It won't. And the thing is, most everyone who knows Michael on a personal and professional level believe it to be him. As well as actual musicologists. Funny how those who are always quick to believe in conspiracies are suddenly the experts over everyone else with actual credibility.

Sony has given us what we wanted, which was a statement, and as usual... it's not good enough. No one wants to believe it. Well, seriously, is there anything they can do to change or ease what you've already made up as fact in your own mind? Of course not! It will never be good enough. Even if they removed all the tracks then you'll just find something else to bitch about. I now believe the track is Michael Jackson blended with other vocals (as they stated) and his voice has been HEAVILY edited and tuned. Why not release another track instead? I don't know, but to say they are trying to dupe us all for some inexplicable reason is silly and insulting to each and every persons intelligence.

Let it go and get excited about a brand new Michael Jackson album that has far more songs that are unquestionable than not. Realize that not all of MJ's unreleased tracks are gonna sound brilliant. His voice isn't always going to be at its best. There's a reason he didn't finish or release these songs.

I know I won't change a single stubborn mind, but let's at least try to open our minds a bit and be more respectful towards one another. Maybe, just maybe, it is Michael but a very underwhelming MJ performance that we don't often hear (hence a track being unreleased).
