Btw, did anyone else think that Taylor Swift's performance was maybe a little tribute to Michael? She went through the Times Square Subway Station and it totally reminded me of the BAD video!

Yup, and that first segment where Tracy was lying in the bed, that was a nod to the Beat it video.

Madonna's intro was too long. It surprised me that she cried, that was honest, but it shouldn't have been about her so much. They could've cut that in half.

Janet sucked big time. Her "thing" was completely disrespectful to Michael. I was excepting something with some emotion… She can barely sing and dance… At least Madonna's speech was touching…

About Madonna's speech, I don't see how expressing how she related to him and stories of their time together was inappropriate. She was very on point the entire time.

It is true that she was crying I saw those tears and it seems that it was like her hair at first and then I thought that it was mascara, but if you look at her nose it looks like a person who was crying. I should know i have been crying the whole time with all those symptons lol.
 
Janet was fabulous. I admire the strength that she displayed in stepping on the stage to honor her big brother. When she danced in sync with him it was so touching. God bless Janet and the rest of the Jackson family.

how was that inappropriate?!?! when someone dies dont you think back on the time you spent with that person?!?!? I KNOW I DO!!! Michael Jackson or not...that woman did NOTHING WRONG and her speech was beautiful! What did you want her to say? Michael Jackson is the greatest entertainer on earth, he sold the most records blah blah blah...WE KNOW ALL THAT STUFF! her speech like other speeches from people that knew MJ humanized in public once again

Plz tell me that isnt what u think??i think she is amazing for wat she done and the strength to do that,if michael could see that he wldnt be best pleased with wat u wrote,she done her up most for michael and it was great,i have really shocked me with ur words :cry:
 
According to AH, Joe had his own after party after the VMAs. A bit strange, don't you think?

ET and AH have shown parts of Madonna's speech and have only said good things about it. They praise Janet's tribute to Michael as well. :)

she's not here to make you cry or something. this is not a movie
it is really harsh for you to say that her performance was disrespectful to Michael.
she did a great job and Michael will be very proud of her . she didn't have to show her emotion to everyone, thats her own grieving and i respect her for that.

Janet's tribute was very touching. Madonna's speech was just that - all about Madonna. Another self-absorbed and tasteless attempt to seem "hip".

The first half of her performance was autotuned, only a bit though, but it was autotuned, no one is trying discredit her talent, I think Janet is great, but they added it to her voice to add intensity to her voice as if Michael were singing it.

I really dont know what you all are talking about.... have you ever seen Janet Live? if not maybe thats why you are not used to the way she performs live. She uses a prerecorded backgound track when she does the really big performances where she dances hard so that it desnt sound tooo breathy. The only difference is that these vocals were louder than most times... but not autotoned thats exactly how she sounds on the ORIGINAL song without autotone its just louder. Its not supposed to sound like MJ is singing because he never sang that part... that was Janet singing Janets part the same way she sang it in 95 with just as much intensity.

It wasn't.

The part when she sings "Oh my God! I can't believe what I saw as I turned on the T.V...." was auto-tuned.

Wow that's harsh. She just lost her brother and is doing the best she can. It kills me how so many "fans" can be so harsh at a time like this. It wasn't the greatest performance but it wasn't the worst either!

Totally agree. I think many people missed what she was trying to say. She was trying to make the connection between herself and MJ to show that he was HUMAN.

Madonna said she did cut it down. It was much longer but she cut it for time even thought it was "painful". Honestly, I wish I could have heard the complete version the way she wanted to say it regardless of time. I didn't think it was long at all. I was hanging on every word. I thought it was the best tribute to him next to Lisa Marie's blog.

lol. Tell me what was so disrespectful of Janet's tribute? Because i think we saw 2 different performances. The performance i saw was very good and a song that kicked ass. The performance I saw showed Janet telling the world to F**k off and leave her brother alone. The performance I saw was very respectful to Michael HER BROTHER. The performance i saw she had tears running down her cheeks for her brother. Tell me what was so disrespectful of it and i will tell you more of The performance I saw.
