Official MTV Video Awards Thread [Janet Jackson, Trailer, Spoliers Here]

Madonna had me choked up, damn her.. She was spot on when she said "We abandoned him".. those words should rung loud and clear in the industry's ear.. The dancers did a fantastic job I gotta watch it again so I can see what choreographers performed..
Like I said before Janet...Ms. Jackson if ya nasty...stole the damn show....

For a minute there I thought Mrs.Jackson and the kids wld've showed up..
I am sure they watched it on tv and loved every minute of it..

kudos 2 Madge & Dunk, I am sure Michael was covering his mouth and laughing at the same time as he watch from Heaven..

I couldn't watch since it was at 2 a.m. ... and I'm not that mad as to read 80 pages..... has anyone uploaded it yet? :flowers:

I've only read good reviews so far, so I'm dying to watch!!!!

So were both the Madonna speech and the MJ tribute both at the very beginning of the show?
I want to see them when they come on UK TV tonight, but I don't want to sit through the rest of the show!
:)

I've watched that trailer over and over agian, at least 10 times!

It's beautiful! I wish I'll be able to see or buy the movie... I just hope they don't do this for the money and make it available for all the fans all over the world. Michael's got a lot of fans!

Madonna's seach was very touching too, but Janet just blew me away, when she was dancing next to her brother... those tears in the end, it was all real..

sadly, it was all real, I just iwhs we could turn back time... :(

I feel more empty than ever before, i'm sad as hell - but the tribute was so good, all the performers did a great job- spot on...it was so passionate!!!

Madonna's words were so kind and true. I am proud of her and proud of JJ for her brave performance. I don't think I can watch it again, it hurts too much. I hope I can bring myself to see This Is It. I'm bringing a trolley's worth of kleenex in with me lol.

And as for Kanye West: he thinks he stole the show from Janet and Michael - he will never steal the show - as far as greatness, I'm sorry Kanye, it just doesn't compute.

Madonna's speech made me want to cry and the trailer did too.

Did Kanye West say anything about Michael? I have no idea how he could do that to Taylor Swift but it made me lol at how messed up the music industry is now. First Eminem and Mariah Carey having the war or words through music videos and lyrics and now Kanye West humilating someone on stage as she just won an award. lolz

It was so hard to watch the dancers and just see MJ on a screen. I cried when it hit me that this is the only way we will see MJ now.

Now I wonder if all the people so intent on slagging Madonna off for doing an introduction still have something to say now...

Im watching the trailer over and over again as well.. I feel im going crazy
I just want him back

I think the highlight of the night for the media is Kanye West being a twat and they're going to ignore the things that Madonna said because it was positive.

What an unbelievable trailer. I surely loved and appreciated both Janet's wonderful performance and Madonna's heartfelt speech. Madonna said what everyone was scared of hearing when she said that she feels that MJ has been abandoned, alone and embattled. BUT, the trailer takes the cake as the best bit of the event. Man what a trailer! It's a passion of mine to see the greats create their masterpieces, and in music, non is greater than MJ. That's why, I often enjoy watching his creative process as much as his dazzling products. The genius behind the curtain is actually more visible than in front of the audience. How he comes up with his ideas is what made him The King of Pop (Music really).

First off, AMAZING tribute! The best so far, and it came from MTV of all people

I loved Madonna's speech so much and she obviously has a huge heart. I don't think (and correct me if I'm wrong) that she's ever said or done anything bad to Michael. For that reason alone I was glad that she was the one to introduce the tribute.. and her speech was SPOT ON. I'm glad she held people accountable for their actions and where ever the haters like eminem are, I hope their hearts are heavy with guilt.

Janet.. what can I say? She was incredible and I'm sure Michael would have been very proud of her. As strange as this may sound, I didn't feel like I was watching a music video and Janet, it felt like Michael and Janet together on stage performing. Again, MTV did a great job with that one (and Janet of course).

I had to laugh (and roll my eyes) that as soon as the tribute finished, the show went back to its usual tacky and tasteless form... Just like the rest of today's music industry. Back to reality. Oh Michael, this is what we're left with?

LOOL
Now MJ Fans LOOOOVE "whore" Madonna... Remember the other thread about bashing her?

Well whatever the trailer is awesome...but very sad to look at, because they killed him and now they're making money..:(

The trailer is amazing..its killing me to see this at the same time Michael's work deserves to be seen by the world.

Just seen the trailer on Youtube...WOW! Cannot wait to go and watch this..wish it was on the O2 though and not the local cinema! :(

So were both the Madonna speech and the MJ tribute both at the very beginning of the show?
I want to see them when they come on UK TV tonight, but I don't want to sit through the rest of the show!
:)

Yes it was both at the very beginning, Madonna's speech and the MJ tribute actually opened the show

I was kind of disappointed by the tribute. I don't really get why watching a bunch of dancers dressed & dancing like MJ while playing a few videos in the background is really that much of a tribute. The only part I liked was Janet.

Anyway the MTV movie awards is becoming a joke anyway, remember when it used to actually be exciting?

Also lets face it, the host Russel Brand would have been talking smack about Michael if he was still alive. When he came out and was talking about MJ, I could tell he really did not care.
