'Official Michael Jackson Opus' (All Threads Merged)

I got my Opus a couple days before for Christmas – but didn’t get a chance to open it until yesterday. For me it was totally overwhelming and I became really emotional and had to put it away.

Like everyone else I have been waiting months for it to arrive – and then I become an emotional retard when I can actually look at it. :sigh:

Will try again tonight – with hopefully better results...

I was the same way. I started crying then I got afraid I would get tears on the page so I closed the book.

I think I will have to look at the book a little bit at a time.

That's what I"ve been doing...I got mine on the 21st and I've only looked at it twice....It is a little sad, but I am celebrating the man he was by looking at it!!

I am glad to see I am not the only one...

I got mine on the 23rd...was so relieved to get it before Xmas! It's been hectic around here, so I only glanced at it initially. But I went through the whole thing last night. Spectacular! That was the first word that came to mind. Loved it. :)

December 23 UPDATE from PRESIDENT of OPUS - PLEASE READ
Dear Michael Jackson Fans:

Once again I want to address the concerns of all the Michael Jackson fans who purchased the Michael Jackson OPUS either through Ticketmaster or another source. These are the Facts and not rumors or hearsay.

1: Ticketmaster bears NO responsibility whatever for the delivery of the purchased OPUS. They acted as our on line seller and gave their customers the best possible price. After the price changed on October 28th we still gave Ticketmaster the best price. We heard no complaints from anyone when we extended our low price offer by thirty days past what we originally said.

2: After Michael passed there were dozens of publications purchased by millions of Michael's fans. These publications did not honor Michael but rather used old press clippings and photos seen hundreds of times. They did not contribute one cent to the estate which benefits Michael's mother and his three children.

3: We called ourselves the Official Michael Jackson Opus because we made a generous deal with the estate and also had every word and picture checked by people who were involved personally with Michael for years.

4: Every word written in our OPUS is original and never seen before. It is an accurate look at who Michael was and covered all the various aspects of his life. The interviews were with people who knew Michael well and told personal stories about Michael.

5: 80% of the photos were never seen before and having read what fans who have received their OPUS have to say most mention the uniqueness of the content.

6: Delivery: Everyone in the US has received their OPUS as promised. There will be a handful who might not have due to a wrong address, lack of phone number, snowed in in remote localities. FedEx has worked overtime to make this happen. I say this because in Los Angeles, New York, and Vancouver customs held up the shipments to x ray them. There is nobody on earth can make them go any faster after 9/11. Again FedEx and their reputation helped.
As most of you know there has been terrible snow storms throughout the country and yet the OPUS' were delivered.

The UK had additional problems. The boat was four days late arriving from China due to the weather and once again Customs held up one container for four days and one for nine days. Now we are faced with terrible weather conditions in UK with the airport FedEx uses closed for two days. This will make the rest of Europe a little late. We expect Europe to receive their OPUS' by the 28th of December. This date is predicated upon current conditions and is not a guarantee but rather our goal.

Australia and New Zealand will most likely not receive theirs until January 4th because of the timing of ships leaving China.
Our UK office has had people answering phones 20 hours per day to help explain to people what is happening.

Please do not call Ticketmaster instead call OPUS or e mail us. We are the responsible party. We take our promises very seriously but at the end of the day we cannot control weather or customs officials.

FedEx is going to send out an e mail to the fans explaining again what i have said. They are not at fault either. They have kept their people at overtime at great cost to their company to make this happen.

OPUS, FedEx, and Ticketmaster are made up of hard working people who care about what they do for a living and feel badly when there are problems. These are not faceless corporations but working people with children who care about not disappointing people for Christmas. We always intended to send one glove in keeping with the spirit of Michael. Our other publications come with two gloves and we wanted this to be special.

We will be sending out augmented reality cards to those who request them after the first of the year. It is the least important thing to focus on. The important thing is that the OPUS is a work of art and and will last for a very long time, (certainly longer than me) and will give you the best memories of Michael's life. It will help secure the future of his children.
Jermaine said the family including his mother think this is the best possible tribute to Michael and that had he been alive he would have loved it. Paula Abdul thanked us for including her as did Mike Tyson, Nate Giorgio, and many of the other contributors. Paris Match is doing one of the largest spreads in their history. The Los Angeles Times did two large stories within three days of each other. This will help keep his legacy alive and showcase only the positive same as the OPUS.

We will be printing quotes from our contributors over the next few weeks after the holidays.
Lastly: We have no deal with Barnes and Noble and they have no right to sell the OPUS at less then the $249.99 price. They can advertise all they want but they have no OPUS' and will not receive any due to their actions. We had intended doing business with them but will not do so due to their actions.

If people want to purchase an MJ OPUS they can do so through Ticketmaster, OPUS Media, Sonymusic.com and select retail establishments. We will be adding Amazon and others but no one can undercut our minimum retail price.

I hope that once you receive your OPUS you will see we kept our promise to you the fans and to the memory of the greatest entertainer of our generation.

President

END OF THE INFO

My comment: They really don't care about us, the rest of the world. It is all about US, UK, Canada, Europe (part of it), NZ and Australia. The rest of us... what is that? They don't care. They have all our info, but so far I have no single feedback from them :(

I just would like to arrive tomorrow to my office and receive the book. Or feedback. I really don't care a bit about Jermain's opinion on the book. I bought it because of Michael, not because any of the Jacksons opinion. I want to have my own opinion on the book, that is why I need it so bad LOL!!! :D Besides, we already know there are mistakes on this, so? Maybe Paula Abdul got a bit confused about dates... :mello:

Finally, they should put this on their website, and send it to all of us. Thanks Shannon for your help!!!

hmm... Paris Match? I thought it's a French tabloid... I purchased a copy, it says "monstre sacre" on the cover, they were not positive to Michael I bought it only for the Vanity fair pics.

Thanks for this. Wow, I don't know what to say. I was hoping the rest of the world would be mentioned here, but not a word. Also, not a word about mistakes they made. They could have at least apologize.

Also, do we have to REQUEST a reality card now??? I thought the card would be sent to everybody without any request.

i think so, too.... but they must send an official mail to do this.... the card should have been sent with the book so we have all payed for it and then we don't need to request it again....

Yes, that caught my attention too... I thought they'll send the card to everyone as a matter of course. Hmm?? Well, right now I just want to see the book. It's still stuck in Paris. Hopefully it'll start moving towards me today. The estimated delivery date is still Wednesday. :timer:

You`ll see next week we will have to request the book to be sent to us too!!!
This is hilarious, really, Im so disappointed right now, I hope the Opus will arrive soon, but at least they should send out some emails tell us the book is on its way, even if they dont know the dates, but its good to have something to hang on to!!!!

:wtf2So we have to ask for the card? Do I look as a stupid to them? What the hell...?! They said everybody will got one and now we have to ask for it?!
It's 28th dec and I didn't even got an email from them with the code! :tickingtimebombMaybe I have to ask for it too! Or maybe I have to ask for the book also!
Now I am mad!!!:banghead

What  Are you joking about the card? Do we have to call them again? I hate this... I want my OPUS Now...

Yes, I hear you too. What about the rest of us?? They are not even sorry, they sound to me like they are the "victims of cruel / crazy MJ fans" asking for things we don't even deserve.

Shame of us asking them to send our books!!!

The world is upside down

I am gloing to try and find Jeff S. Wald contact e-mail now. This is crazy about card and in regard to glove. Why advertise it with two in picture?

FOR GOODNESS SAKE OPUS HOW CAN WE REQUEST A CARD IF YOU DONT READ OR REPLY TO OUR EMAILS!!!!

sheesh what a cheek. i can't believe it. it's like they are blaming us or something

FOR GOODNESS SAKE OPUS HOW CAN WE REQUEST A CARD IF YOU DONT READ OR REPLY TO OUR EMAILS!!!!
Exactly! I've sent them a few emails and they replied to NONE of them. I've received my OPUS now, but this was a while back when I heard about the $50 coupon and wanted to see if I could use it after the fact. Maybe not something they wanted to deal with, but they could've at least answered my emails in SOME way!

Okay, it's Christmas and I wasn't going to open the Opus today but my Mother was desperate to see it so I relented. We had Christmas music playing and an upbeat song was on so it was okay at first. Then I decided to jump forward to the art stuff cuz fans had been raving about it. We were both being strong looking at the pix and then a sad Christmas song came on ("Grown up Christmas List" by Natalie Cole) at the time we were finishing the art and ventured beyond towards the end of the book...which, of course, starts the many tributes about his death. I should have stopped there but didn't. My Mom saw the pic of just the hat and glove on a stool and that was it. She fell apart. I tried to stay strong and started randomly browsing back towards the front of the book to the happier stuff but each picture just made me feel worse to where I was about to fall apart, too...but I didn't want to get any tears on the book so I had to literally step away from it and dry my eyes. After that, I decided to pack the book back up. Couldn't look at it anymore.

Anyway, what I did see was phenomenal. Didn't read anything, but there was some rare art in there I loved. The Archangel picture was amazing (can't believe we never saw that one before) but I think that's where we both really started feeling the loss. From there on it went downhill towards the end of the book.

Next time I look at the book, methinks I'll need to do it alone. It's hard to be strong when the ppl around you are losing it. And there definitely won't be any sad music playing.
Awww. Hugs Wendy. :better:

Yep, next time no sad music playing. It is hard enough to see MJ during happy times, because we wish they could've continued for him forever. It's such a wonderful tribute to him though, isn't it? :)

Pretty bed btw!

Oh, yes... same here: No Opus, No update, No feedback, NO-thing...

I emailed about the glove (the point is we were told 2 and that should have been included) and the card being absent and then another email about the mistakes. I also sent a third asking for the card as they implied. I haven't received any replies and I don't care about annoying them because they run a business and made a pretty penny on this book so I don't care who is working overtime or not.

guys isn't is still considered a holiday in Europe today?

It is here - no mail or deliveries would happen today - so maybe tomorrow??

No I don’t think so, it’s a normal day and It seems like everyone is working accept the OPUS group. I’m sick of waiting. :timer:

Balls, today is a bank holiday in Britain? Darn...

Well... in Chile is Fool's day... so I don't know what's worst. If I got an answer today, I would consider it a fake :D
