That period between 99 and 2001 when Invincible was finally released was such a crazy time that I do kind of feel that the finished product wasn't entirely what he really wanted to put out. I remember the first single supposing to be this amazing, hard hitting track that would "bring Michael back" or whatever...that's actually a great description for Unbreakable, but we got YRMW, which is a good song, but underwhelming considering the two years of hype preceding it.

I hope we get more unreleased tracks like this, era be damned. I would die to hear Michael's version of Joy.

Well, it could be the other way around - true... but this song has global hit all over it. The chorus is spine-chilling.

Wtf? :mello: I'm not SIDEWALK, but he/she isn't throwing out misinformation..and there's no need to behave so aggressive.

This could very well be a remix from the 'original' song that Michael recorded. He/she wasn't talking about the Lenny Kravitz version.
The part that has leaked has been remixed probably by that BMF as you could've read in this thread.

Of course. 1.34 into this interview. Doesn't exactly fill the consumer full of confidence does it? If those were 'acceptable', by definition, Michael thought this track was 'unacceptable'. Love it all you want, I'll stick with the great man's judgement.

Invincible came out in 2001.

Michael most likely talked to Lenny in re-writing the chorus, with his verses to "Storm" and it sounds incredible.

Because Lenny and Mj worked on the song for the Vince album, but didn't use it and it stayed in the vault.
Then Lenny decided to use the song for his own album a few years later and re-recorded, releasing it in 2004.

i can imagine there are 1000s of songs like this in the vault a place with no name this is it and this song thats just leaked are all examples

( by this i mean songs written by mj with other artists but decided not to be used )

This would mean that it's not true that Michael left the tracks out on purpose,cause he knew what was gonna happen with Invincible. But damn...

I wasn't too excited about This Is It (the song) when it came out, and I hardly ever listen to it. But THIS song.. :wild: !! I've lost count on how many times I've already listened to it on repeat, lol.

Yeah but On The Line was released 4 years earlier wasn't it? On special disc release?

I wouldn't put much credence in the story that Michael was deliberately holding songs back. He wouldn't deliberately have released a weak album to his fans after 6 years of waiting for a full CD. I refuse to believe he'd do that to his fans.

Wow! Michael sounds amazing. Not a fan of the beat. But his vocal part is right on. Mix that with different instrumentation and you've got a killer track.

The song was originally written for MJ by lenny during the invincible sessions, since mj decided not to use the track in any of his albums, lenny decided to use it and make his own version to be released on one of his albums,the song was written for MJ at first,end of story.

Kenny Kravitz gave an interview with NPR( Nat. Public Radio) right after MJ's passing and said he was recording with Michael just 8 months before his passing. They had finished the song(s) so I don't know if this is one of them or if this is from the Invicible sessions. Did Lenny also work with him during the Invicible sessions way back then? Confused...
