New song Oct. 12th + 'This is it' Album out on Oct. 26th. Pre-order at Amazon.com

If the first play is on GMTV... I will be at work too :(...
Im hoping someone uploads it to youtube or something so I can hear it... Won't be able to stand all day until I get home... doubt they will play the full song either... just a snippet...

I can't wait! Only two days to go to hear the new song!!

Where can we listen to it online??? or where it will be first played???

Hmm, as I said in another thread, I've been trying hard to find our which stations will be playing the new song and NONE seem to know anything about it. They don't even know if they're receiving a promo CD.

If your information is right then I guess maybe radios won't get a promo at all. Perhaps Sony intend to 'unveil' the new song on GMTV only. Perhaps they don't intend for radio to play it at all. That sucks.

mjdatabank has posted the official tracklisting on his site and.... it's bad news: the leaked tracklisting was legit. CD2 has only 4 tracks... shame.

If TII is being premiered on a TV show, can we expect a video/TII montage?

I would expect a montage, yes. Potentiall full of TII clips, but possibly a selection of MJ performances from different eras or videos as usual. It wouldn't surprise me if they used the same montage from the 'One More Chance' video and just put the new music over the top. Sony suck.

OK, well, I -was- holding out for CD2, but I guess I'm not gonna buy it now. It makes no sense to put just 4 tracks on this CD. They have so many unused remixes in the vaults and even just padding it out with some live versions or a remix of this is it would be better. they haven't spent a dime on this CD...

Most releases by artists like Elvis, Beatles etc are very carefully put together, remastered, old demos dug up, etc etc but this smacks of opportuinism and is a big disappointment.

we can't really expect a perfect album, but there must be more than this...

In summary, the CD gives us this:

CD1
15 This Is It (Album Version)
16 This Is It (Orchestra Version)

CD 2:

01 She's Out Of My Life (Demo) - 3:19 min
02 Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' (Demo Recording) - 5:43 min
03 Beat It (Demo Take) - 2:03 min
04 Planet Earth - 3:13 min

Wow, another screw-job to all the MJ fans. Only 4 tracks on disc 2? What a joke.

So we're expected to pay upwards of 20 $ (I live in Canada) for two versions of one new song, demos of three old tracks, and a corny spoken-word poem about the environment? No thanks, Sony.

I do not believe they will release 4 tracks on a whole disc. Not right.

Omg can't wait to hear it on GMTV! I watch that every morning. I bet they show it after 8 oclock when I have to go to school. Looks like I'll be faking a day off ;)

I think we will get the official tracklisting Monday.
The whole point of releasing 'This Is It' to the airwaves on Monday is to promote the sale of the album ... so naturally all info (you would think!) will get released then...

I hope so. I don't know why sony is waiting so long...

In fact - 3 days! :) I can't wait too! :)

I am not buying it if that list is real. I learned my lesson when i bought Thriller 25th with DVD and payed 25 euros to receive 3 videos on dvd... Thank you, Sony, but im not stupid.

SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT DISCLOSES
TRACKLISTING OF MICHAEL JACKSON ALBUM
THIS IS IT

NEW YORK, NY - At the stroke of 12 a.m. (midnight) EST on October 12th, a never-before released song from Michael Jackson - a single entitled "This Is It" - will be unveiled to the world on www.MichaelJackson.com. "This Is It," a brand new song, marks yet another exciting moment in music history for one of the world’s most revered artists; featuring backing vocals by Michael’s brothers The Jacksons, the song plays during the closing sequence of Sony Pictures' forthcoming film MICHAEL JACKSON'S THIS IS IT and is on the 2-disc CD set Michael Jackson's This Is It, which is the stand-alone companion to the motion picture. The single artwork - a new photo of Michael taken recently at his Staples Center rehearsals - will also be disclosed.

SO WILL IT BE A SINGLE OR JUST AN ALBUM TRACK?!?!?

Sony release statements saying it will be a single, but insiders say it won't. Radio stations have no information about the song or if they'll receive promotional copies to play on air, HMV delete it from their website saying it won't be a single, yet here they say they'll disclose "single" artwork..

WHAT THE ~%$£ IS GOING ON?!?!

I just received this email from Sony UK confirming that there will be no new single to purchase, to get the new song you have to buy the album!

Exciting Michael Jackson News!

Hi Richard

Please see some exciting single news below!

We’d love it if you could be outside Sony Music UK (address below) on Monday morning in time for the 5am arrival of the track – we’re expecting loads of high profile news cameras to see it arrive with the big security convoy – so the more fans that are here the better! We’ll make sure you get to hear the new track too. The highly anticipated, unreleased Michael Jackson single ‘This Is It’ goes to radio worldwide Monday 12th Oct, with the peak impact time of 7.30am. This monumental event will be publicised across all media outlets, including advertising in national press this weekend.

In the UK the single is being delivered by a highly secure unit in to Sony Music’s head office in London (9 Derry St, round the corner from High St Kensington, W8 5HY) at just before 5am, straight from a private airplane coming in from the LA studios.

The single will ONLY be available on the new double album ‘This Is It’ – released Oct 26th and available to pre-order now in the UK from Amazon here, Play here and HMV here.

“This song only defines, once again, what the world already knows - that Michael is one of God's greatest gifts,” comments John McClain, co-producer of the album.
Disc one of the album will feature the original album masters of some of Michael’s biggest hits arranged in the same sequence as they appear in the film. The disc ends with two versions of the never-released “This Is It.” This song is featured in the film’s closing sequence and includes backing vocals by Michael’s brothers, the Jacksons. Disc two offers previously unreleased versions of some of the artist’s classic tracks. This disc also features a touching spoken word poem from Michael Jackson entitled “Planet Earth” that has never been heard before.
The two-disc ‘This is It’ is a stand-alone companion to the motion picture (released 28th Oct) and includes a 36-page, commemorative booklet featuring exclusive photos of Michael from his last rehearsal.

one thing is for certain. Just about the entire planet has always been MJ fans on one level or another. if anybody didn't believe it before, the youtube news that that site for his tracklist gets a billion views a day, everyday, with a planet consisting of seven billion...well...nuff said.

You are mocking me??

I can buy as much as I want… Because I can!

And I don’t care if Sony is ripping us off, I’ll do it for Michael.

If Michael were alive, I don't think he would be happy with this release. He always put as much music as he could on his CDs; indeed, Invincible was criticized for being TOO long. I don't think he would have felt it was right to put only 4 songs on a 80-minute CD.

Im gonna buy 100 copies cos Im loaded and want MJ back to number 1 in the charts where he deserves, I know it could be better but who cares its MJ and I will buy multiple copies of everything he releases!!!
