This is not a song to be shelved. No way should it be. It must be released, it is far too good not to, and it already has a campaign and we aren't going to stop talking about it any time soon nor are we going to forget about it any time soon.

Man, Michael's voice sounds so freakin' good. Can you imagine when he comes out with his own album what all those wanna be's are gonna look like? LOL. People are gonna laugh at the notion that they could ever replace Michael.

Wow! We heard that Akon was producing a bit on Michael Jackson’s new album, but it seems as though he is on the debut single for Akon’s new album, Acquitted. I’m sorry, this is craziness, hearing Michael Jackson’s voice on some new music! I’m not an Akon fan, but this could very well make me one. Their voices harmonize very well together - this single is going to be really huge for Akon, and if this is any prelude to what Michael’s material is going to sound like, MJ fans are in for a treat.

After years of doubting if I would hear MJ on a track again, I heard this song today. The good part is that it's a good song, and I love MJ's verse at the beginning. Dude can still sing!

The bad part is that it's an Akon song, and the track dropped a level once he started singing. Dammit I wish this was just Mike's song, he sounded so good at the beginning. The background vocals that Mike does at the end is just great, and it sounds good with Akon.

With more listens I'm starting to love this song, and it's so nice to hear Mike on some new shit!

It sound's like most people wish Michael had sung more on the track, lol. See, people realize how amazing Michael is, deep down. I like that one that say's the track droped a level once Akon started singing, lol. But it's true. Michael's just such a superior vocalist that he makes everyone else sound like poop.

Akon's record label has backed down on rumors that had suggested a new single ft Michael Jackson would be released in July.

A song that the two worked on for Akon's upcoming album was leaked to the Internet. An earlier version of the track, without Jackson's contributing vocals, leaked in February, just as the pair's "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008" was officially released as the first single for the re-release of Thriller.

A mid-tempo ballad featuring strings at its beginning, "Hold My Hand" layers the singers' vocals over a drum machine and a twinkling piano melody as the pair trade off lyrics like "We're better off being together than being miserable alone" and "Nothing can come between us if you just hold my hand." Jackson's softer, more lilting vocal lines start the duet, but Akon soon becomes dominant, thanks to his distinctive phrasing.

Akon's label rep said that the singer's as-yet-untitled third album, due later this year, has not been completed, so there's no word on whether "Hold My Hand" will make the cut, and as such, there hasn't been any plan to release the song as a single.

Akon previously told MTV News that working with MJ was a dream come true, calling the King of Pop "incredible" and a "genius."

Thing is...it is a song for kids too though! I'm sorry if High school Musical can be THAT popular...with the cheesiness running through THAT movie and those songs...HMH is gonna be a PHENOMENAL hit. I think it reaches everyone no matter how cheesy people think it is. You got Michael on the record for the old school people (just generalizing here), Akon for young adults, and a extremely catchy melody for kids and adults a like.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan they'd be super super stupid if they don't release this one. It is succcchhh a hit. NO question.

I stopped listening to it for a while but that song is programed in my head somehow.....I hear it as if it were background music 24/7 :lol:

Michael's voice is soooooooooooo light and beautiful BTW, like Thriller album quality. Can't no one tell me the man can't sing anymore.

We about to shake the world up, man. You know how you be with somebody and you can't even explain [the feeling]? I used to sit and think, 'How does somebody sell so many records and dominate a whole business genre to a point [where] nobody can't be a part of that without associating with you?' The way he thinks ... some artists think regional, some think national, I was thinking international. He thinks planets. It's on another level."
