It's funny but I never think that. I think it's cos they look so insanely beautiful together, I'm content to just watch and admire. Really glad the idea of working with Madonna didn't work out. I can't imagine her being any good in this. Naomi is perfect in every way here.

I think it is sped up a little, I will have to compare with live footage. But, other than that it's very real! In face Shakira copies this in her 'hips don't lie' video. She is also good.

🥰 I find that going in circle dance so funny and so cute 🥰. He seems to be really enjoying himself. I need to look for the actual footage as I can't imagine what part of song this was.

PS: Done with my Michael free presentation, so there is hope for me to survive for few hours. Just popped in here for celebration 🎉🤣

Oh, this is really interesting. He was very sexy and explicit with his dance moves and gestures but, yeah, he doesn't brag about his sexual power in his songs. At least, I can't bring any to mind right now. I'll have to think about it. But he doesn't do what a lot of my old school rock bands used to do. They were definitely bragging about their sexual prowess or attractiveness. And I'm not saying I was ever particularly thrilled by any of that. Zep were a good band but, actually, all the bragging was a bit of a turn off. The bands that were most important to me didn't do that.

And Michael doesn't do it. It's fine to be sexy but you don't have to be ... er ... ahem ... an idiot ... that's the word I was looking for, lol.

Yeah, I kinda thought you might like this one. For me, it's all about him wearing black. Which I LOVE. And we don't see enough of him all in black. Oh no... let me clarify! I don't think Michael was *ever* raunchy or tacky or vulgar. That HN gif that I'm obsessed with is not even explicit, in the sexual sense, more just explicit in how directly sexual it is. But that's the thing, it is sexy. It is exciting. It is definitely not gross, or vulgar to me at all! I don't think I am making any kind of excuses for Michael when I say this either, so I don't think you should worry about that (though, in fairness, I am much more inclined to make excuses for him than you are haha). But in reality, I just see him as an extremely sexy person, who is an extremely sexy performer because of who he is, moreso than because of what he does. Sometimes he pushed boundaries, but never crossed them. He was just as sexy in those more subtle moments as he was in the more explicit ones. The only difference is that the more explicit ones feed into my imagination in more all-consuming way haha. They feed my curiosity, desire, interest, etc. But they don't ever allow me to get too close to understanding the real thing, or what exactly it is I want. Sometimes I watch him perform and I genuinely have no idea why I think he's so overwhelming, I just know that he is.

To me, this is all so much hotter and so much more exciting and enticing than any direct sexuality on stage could ever be. I get why people like that kind of stuff too, but I think part of Michael's staying power (among many, many, many things) is that he was so good at drawing an audience in and keeping them there, with bated breath, waiting on his every movement to make them feel alive. That's how I feel with all the pregnant pauses in the Wembley HN performance. He was a master at building up all of the energy, excitement, anticipation inside of us and then making us wait just long enough so that we knew nothing could possibly satisfy us but him. :love:

I don't think it is sped up...but it's funny you say this because sometimes if I watch clips of Michael on silent I become convinced they were sped up. But as soon as I play the music, it's obvious that they aren't. He really was just that amazing! lol

Oh, this is great. Thank you so much for such a considered reply. It's not that I don't know my own mind or don't have confidence in my own reactions to Michael. Of course I do but I did just wonder, am I unconsciously applying a lower standard to Michael than I would to any one else? Which makes me sound like a prude. I don't think you can be into rock music and be a prude. It doesn't work, lol. But I do dislike vulgarity or gross tackiness cos it's so unnecessary and ineffective, imo. Yeah, he definitely pushed boundaries - which, as an artist, he should do - but didn't cross them, imo.

I don't think it's been speeded up. But I did wonder if it had been manipulated. I have seen gifs where the image clearly has been manipulated to show something that clearly didn't happen. Can't bring one to mind cos I never bump those but I have seen them. But this one, I know Michael was crazy flexible but this seems beyond, even for him. I just wasn't sure. Particularly the flexibility we're seeing in his arms here. A trained dancer could do this but I wasn't sure that Michael could achieve this level of flexibility. But I don't watch Michael live so there is a lot of footage that is unknown territory to me. Perhaps it's more to do with my lack of intimate knowledge of Michael's live performances than anything else.

I can’t remember if I’ve posted this before, but this is a perfect example of Michael just existing while performing, not being overt in anyway, and it just blowing up my mind with all kinds of thoughts.

Maybe I'm just foolish, but I really can't pinpoint the difference... I think the one seems maybe slightly slower, but that's it. Not sure if I'm seeing that accurately or not.

Well, this has put me in a better mood. And it's that belt again. I can't get enough of that (HN / Wembley) belt. In a slight strop, trying to learn how to post photos, cannot cope with chromebook. Doing my head in. Was just about to crash out and go and listen to some music when this baby turned up. Gotta be happy about that.

That is a lovely moment.

But, because I am always contrary, I have to say, I prefer Slash in that moment. If you watch Slash you'll see (I mean, you prob already know all this, lol) that he leans into Michael and, as Michael is singing 'and it's OK' Slash is miming along. And THAT is rock and roll. That is such a rock and roll moment. And this is what I mean when I drone on about wanting to see Michael connected to other people and not be so isolated all the time. This is how rock bands interact with each other and we don't see a lot of this sort of thing with Michael with him being a solo artist. I love that moment. It's just so lovely. I mean, yeah, Michael's cute little smile and his shoulders and everything but, for me, it's all about Slash getting into Michael's song.
