Re: The Official New Album Thread -MICHAEL Release date Dec 14th

Why on earth is the Import one so much more expensive?

because it's the important one. lol and the shipping expences are included in the price.

Re: The Official New Album Thread -MICHAEL Release date Dec 14th

Ah, yeah, the shipping obviously cost more since it's from US. I'm going for the UK one!

Shipping costs aren't included in the price you see, shipping fees are added at the end of the order.

Re: The Official New Album Thread -MICHAEL Release date Dec 14th

I want to go into a shop and physically pick it up. That's how we did it in the old days LOL

I'm so anxious to hear "Breaking News"!

I'd love the song to contain a memorable line like "now there's a lesson to learn, respect's not given, it's earned" or lyrics like in "Threatened", which cleverly pokes fun of the media.

You’re fearing me, ‘cause you know I’m a beast
Watching you when you sleep, when you’re in bed
I’m underneath
You’re trapped in halls, and my face is the walls
I’m the floor when you fall, and when you scream it’s ‘cause of me
I’m the living dead, the dark thoughts in your head

Half of me you’ll never be

You think you’re by yourself, but it’s my touch you felt
I’m not a ghost from Hell, but I’ve got a spell on you
Your worst nightmare, it's me, I'm everywhere
In one blink I’ll disappear, and then I’ll come back to haunt you
I’m telling you, when you lie under a tomb
I’m the one watching you

You know, something to shut all these fucking idiots like tmz, Diamond, Halperin and Friedman up! I hope BN includes a strong statement like that!

Did you work on "Breaking News"?
Teddy Riley: Yes I did...I hope you enjoy it. Thank you all for your support on this. It was hard not talking to yall.

And a new tweet posted by Jerkins:
Been getting alot of twits about MJ's lp. Just wanted to let everyone know that I did not work on this particular album. Thx, Rj

It's good news imo - they have enough strong material post 2001 that will be included on the new album, so we're getting the most recent songs ;)
I'm surprised though, I thought his songs would be included.

I wasn't talking about the shipping costs from the store to a customer. I was talking about the costs for the store to import the goods from another country to the store's warehouse.

Re: The Official New Album Thread -MICHAEL Release date Dec 14th

Ahhhh I can't stop listening to the little snippet!!! It sounds so a w e s o m e !

Re: The Official New Album Thread -MICHAEL Release date Dec 14th

After scrutinizing the new album cover for a bit, I decided I really like it :)! And can't wait to see the rest of the artwork. Sure hope Sony releases a hi-res version of the completed work..

It's interesting that it's so expensive on Amazon Germany I hope this will change.

It is a bit pricey if you compare to some other places. But at least there's no extra shipping fee :) So the price is almost the same as on Sony's website..

I think I might do an exception for this particular album and actually go to the store and buy it there. Just to proudly show off my new Michael Jackson album :cheeky:

Re: The Official New Album Thread -MICHAEL Release date Dec 14th

Breaking news sounds great. Nice beat.

Can't wait.

I just hope Katherine doesn't ruin the album.

Re: The Official New Album Thread -MICHAEL Release date Dec 14th

I'm gonna head to the store and pick up the CD myself :)

Re: The Official New Album Thread -MICHAEL Release date Dec 14th

Thank you! I also think that the shoulders look strange, but I only modified the neck a bit: if you look at the original, the head doesn't fit to the body, it looksa bit as it is "floating"... so I made the neck a bit wider to compensate this effect (look at my signature. That's my version of the cover).
Agreed. I noticed that right away. Michael's shoulders didn't slope like that. Some people's do, but his didn't.

So now it's just an empty bubble? Okay...
I they should at least put something in it, good grief. Maybe a little heart shape or something. That's fitting.

Oh no, there's more trouble on the horizon:

Re: The Official New Album Thread -MICHAEL Release date Dec 14th

This cover is terrible. It looks like a look into the past, not the future. As fans have said before it comes across as another greatest hits package, which the average music buyer will assume it is, they've seen nothing but greatest hits packages for the last 10 years. This was a pianters interpretation of Michael, and clearly this person was only a casual MJ fan. Who believes he only created music up to 93. We see no photos from MJ post 93! Thats a slap in the face to History, BOTDF, and Invincible. In addition the cover includes:

-A centre photo of Michael looking like the painter wanted to create a painting mixing Michael and Prince. Then was asked by sony to change it to just Michael for the album cover so he removed all the Prince references and filled it with Michael references. (This would explain how the Prince symbol snuck in there.)

-The cover features the MTV logo, a station which dissed MJ constantly, even giving him a fake award in 2002, then covering the story on their own channel.

-We also see a photo mtv incorrectly credited as the Motown 25 performance, when in fact it's the shot of MJ right before his hair caught on fire (Motown 25 didn't have fireworks). Why would they put this on the cover?

I've seen artwork on this website that is far better than this painters interpretation of Michael Jackson and his work.

Re: The Official New Album Thread -MICHAEL Release date Dec 14th

Thanks! I also hope they change the cover :) By the way: I don't think that my version is perfect. I just tried to improve the real cover and make people aware that Michael looks strange on it.

Yes it is perfect for me

It is not a photo and it isn't supposed to be. But it represents Michael the way I see Michael, and the original simply fails in that. It's a different "Michael" in the original cover. I really hope they realize the cover doesn't do justice to Michael's beautiful face or soul... But I'm a bit afraid they won't change it that much, given that it was originally a real oil painting :(

Of course I will buy the album, with any kind of cover or no cover at all. In the end of the day it's the music that matters

The Painting with BOTDF , HISTORY AND INVINCIBLE continues on the back of the CD ! how can u be so negative its a new Michael Jackson record , we have waited nine long years for this ????

Re: The Official New Album Thread -MICHAEL Release date Dec 14th

I agree with Tyler. This cover is really wrong. I have friends who can draw Michael better. And the fact that his career and achievements seem to have stop in the 90's, WTH?? A lot of the things included are negative, even the cameras and parts of the tabloid, why do we need to have that kind of reminder? Is it part of Michael's career, to have been dissed by the media? And that cover is not even an original idea, it looks too much like the Dangerous one. I'd rather have a simple picture of him.
