About MITM vs. Monster, the deep parts in Monster are almost the same as MITM. Anyone can hear that, just like the start of Fall in Love sounds like the start of Speechless. Why on earth are we debating again? It's SO obvious.

@whoisit yes, thanks for answering. so like from keep your head up, it seems like you think the first part of lines sounds like mj, but then the end of lines (like "to stay" and "promises" 'wipes the tears away") do not. Is it safe to say that the singer falls off for you at the end of verses, in that song? is it the vibrato?

Yes, it's a combination of the vibrato, and just an overall difference in the vocal, to me. Some words are sung and sound softer and more natural than the others, then there's parts where I would hear the soft vocal, and think "hm" then it's immediately followed with that "Malachi-ish" flatness in the voice.


Whatever the case may be, even with the lines that do sound like Michael to me, it's bad that it's only a few lines or words throughout twelve separate full length songs.

I'm 20 and it's a new idea for MJ.

And these songs were not complete (By that I mean studio quality) so like Frank Cascio said the version we hear is not the finished project.

New idea for MJ in 2007? I don't think so. Michael had been aware of this kind of style ages before you were even born.

Year: 1984 (Just in case you didn't know, Michael showed interest in working with Run DMC back in the 80s), listen to the first phrase of the song (new in 2007 for Michael? He's been waiting for Eddie to do it?)

Guys. I have an idea, i think i could explain the vibrato on the cascio songs. Im not sure, it may take a bit. But i think im on to something. But i need michael jackson acapellas.

Yes, there is. This one's the brand new one: after the shower effect, Michael sang underwater dressed in a woollen jumper in a bath without warming up his voice when he had a flu, pneumonia, sorethroat and a furball stuck in his throat. It goes without saying that he sang 12 entire songs in such a state for fun. He had so much fun that he giggled all the time, which explains the shaky vibrato.

I'm so glad I got a tiny bit of internet to be able to post a message to you guys, because I truly miss our discussions and hope you're all doing well!

Last night at a Christmas Eve party my dad asked me if I had the Immortal album and I was kind of surprised when he said, "There isn't any of that fake singer on there is there?" I was grateful that I could tell him "No."

I'm still loving the mixes on that album. :)

I think the only parts where the singer remotely gets to sound like MJ is:

Breaking News - "just when you thought" but when he sings "give it again" it throws it off. When I heard "MOVES of Michael Jackson" it reminded me a bit of Ne-Yo. At the high notes, he's a Vitas wannabe

Keep Your Head Up - "... love ... just a moment"

Soldier Boy - "There is nothing that serious"

but when I come to think of it, it does't really sound close.

The songs don't sound all that much like Jason except Let Me Let Go, Don't Walk Away and Hydraulix. In his slower songs Jason has a dullness to his voice; MJ has a mumbling tone but this is worse. I think Jason is TRYING to be Michael so his voice would be considerably different. In All I Need, the "We Draw Close, Closer and Closer" sounds "closer" to Jason than other parts.
