Michael - The Great Album Debate

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Make it three. I was listening to I Want You Back a couple days ago. Man... Michael Jackson, at merely 10 years of age, could use vibrato so beautifully... The way he conveyed emotion, the way he phrased and just his overall singing skills take my breath away.

I said it before and I'll repeat. The song Who's Lovin' You on Live at the Forum literally froze me during my morning commute. I was standing on the street like a statue for 3 minutes.

Also, do you guys remember the Dangerous court deposition in which he talked about the Dangerous demo. He got hit by a 7-feet wall just before he started singing the demo. If you and I got hit by a wall, we probably could not sing a word, not Michael Jackson. He managed to sing the whole demo, which is released as Dangerous (early version) on TUC. Even when Michael was not 100%, he could still sing like a bird and sounded like his usual self.

Speaking of Live at the Forum...I had that same reaction when I heard him sing 'Ain't No Sunshine'...No lie - I had lost my breath for a period of time. How anyone, let alone a 14 year old, sings like that is beyond me. I don't even want to try and understand it, as it's overwhelming for me.

:) :)

I find this particularly interesting; this little bit of info about BN in the lyric book of the album;

...This is Michael's life under the microscope. The more success you have the more some try to tear you down. This is Michael's personal story. This is prophecy. Michael demonstrated a keen sense of humor regarding the media. He would often disguise his voice as a journalist talking about "Michael Jackson." He seemed to find a lot of humor in how silly things would make the news....

Take that as you will....:mello:

Yeah, I remember that being an interesting thing when I read that too.. so they are claiming that he "disguised" his voice for Breaking News?..Yet why is it in every Cascio track it has that "disguised" voice...Why would he be pretending to be a journalist in KYHU and Stay?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

^^ I was looking more at the 'This is Michael's personal story. This is prophecy.'

hmmm....Ok.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Yep I meant lyrics - typo on my part sorry about that.

wasn't these work-in-process songs? we heard Michael mumble and sing random words in the songs and he changed the lyrics as he worked on the songs. he might have been singing them like they were written and would change them if/when he used the songs.

I would have thought the producer would leave the mumbled + hard to hear lyrics in the song like the "Westbound greyhound to tinseltown" line in Hollywood Tonight. This song seems TOO finished to be a heavily processed demo.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I've heard tonnes of Michael's demos. He always sounds like Michael Jackson. Strangely enough.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

How do we know that the vocals for the Cascio tracks are all from the same session? I'll agree, they do sound pretty complete, but perhaps he recorded the songs multiple times in his stay there, hence why some people think that they hear Michael in some parts and not in others.

... Again, just a theory...

plus if we go with Roger Friedman's story these were the songs that Eddie and Frank was working on with James Porte and the idea that Michael singing them came later on. If true it would make sense the songs not fitting Michael because they weren't written for him and they were being modified to fit.

Thanks for the clarification.

We all heard Michael's demos before. We all heard him mumbled worlds and finetuned the lyrics as he worked. The problem with all these Cascios songs is we don't hear the usual mumbling or other distinctive Michael Jackson singing habits. We clearly hear the vocalist(s) sing "Monster, he's a monster, he's an animal."

So, back to my questions. Do you think Michael Jackson, a polite person with a gentle soul, felt comfortable enough to sing that line, even though it's just dummy lyrics? And, do you think he would have agreed to incorporate that line in any one of his songs?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

The Cascio songs sound nothing like demos. Unless you want to call the terrible and obvious patchwork of old recorded ad libs an indication of a demo.

And it's ridiculous how Teddy Riley did the copy and paste job so blatantly. The "hee hee hee" is so clearly taken from In the Closet - a well-known single on Dangerous.

When I listen to In the Closet now, I can't help but think about the Breaking News fiasco when I hear the "hee hee hee".... They polluted one of my favorite songs.

Could they at least copy from songs in the vault which has never been released to make it less obvious?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Teddy Riley's a lying scumbag. Listen to him on Oprah. 'Is it Michael?', 'No one could scream like Michael.' No shit, Teddy. Is that why you sampled that scream from 'Unbreakable', you disgusting liar?

No one can scream like Michael? Well considering the 'scream' is lifted from a legitimate Michael Jackson song, he's not wrong. Fool.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Is Teddy still saying he's alive?

The Cascio tracks are not Michael.

Quite frankly I don't care whether or not they are Jason Malachi, if Sony knew about this apparent fraud, or what role the estate plays in all of this.

Michael Jackson is not singing the tree songs in question.

It's as simple as that.

EDIT: Make that five. I forgot the horrible Carry On / All I Need. Dreadful.

I fully agree with you. For me, the issue is who the singer isn't rather than who it could be.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Is Teddy still saying he's alive?

Yep. But to be honest, there's more chance of Michael Jackson being alive than of Michael Jackson being on those bullshit records!

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

All I have to do is remember the looks on Eddie's and Teddy's faces on Oprah. If you want to know the look of a liar, look at those two on that show.

:puke: Teddy: '....you can hear the authenticity of his voice..the natural part of him...' wow, Teddy, could you be more vague? Having trouble searching for the right words?

It's quite unbelievable to see how one of the driving forces behind Dangerous came up with Breaking News and Monster.

Seriously, one of the producers behind Jam, In the Cloet and Remember The Time gave us BN and Monster????????????

Michael Jackson was not only a genius himself, he's so great that he made everyone worked besides him looks like genius.

What a :censored: joke.."Nobody can really do a scream, like that strong scream on the music that you hear." He's such a liar and he's using copy and pasted ad libs as proof?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

The only thing that Teddy was missing was a Swag Bag! He looked every inch a crook!

What makes this so much worse is that back in the day I used to LOVE Teddy. Loved him. Loved all the stuff he did with Keith Sweat, Bobby Brown, Today, etc. I remember him having massive record company problems of his own back in the day with Gene Griffin. So for him to go out like this is just disgusting.

Twenty years ago I went to see him and his group Guy at the Hammersmith Apollo. They were incredible. So for this to happen... in 'hood' parlance, he's gone out 'like a b!tch!'

Twenty years ago... seems like yesterday...

Just looked at his Twitter and saw this:

Watch Blackstreet star & megaproducer Teddy Riley expose a fraudster Wednesday 1/26 @10e/9c on CNBC's American Greed.

Oh Alanis...

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I really have to watch that interview again...

... I know this is EXTREMELY off-topic, but could some of you critique these videos I made of MJ? One of them is a Cyber-Bullying ad and the other is a documentary of how MJ was portrayed in the media so negatively:

^^ No Diggity! That song is still stellar! '...givin' 'em eargasms with my mellow accent...'...Love that line...lol

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I can't listen to Teddy bashing, my love for Dangerous is too strong.

Also, Teddy bashing sounds like a euphamism for self love.

Like I said, I loved the guy. So it's not easy for me to hate him.

I had my doubts about Teddy around the time he claimed Michael wrote RTT while thinking about Debbie Rowe!?!

My BEST comic show ever :D:D:D:D:D starting at 0:18 :

"I can tell you that it IS Michael's voice...":)
"He recorded right there in my basement" :D

And here comes the BEST part starting at 0:34:

"I was there pushing the buttons...":hysterical:

"He was right there directing..." (songs containing lyrics such as "she's working two jobs in a restaurant") :jump:
"And he..., that's Michael Jackson." Very convincing, what a proof, :hysterical:

Further on
Oprah:"Why do you say for sure it is him?"

Teddy says "...'cause you can hear the authencity in his voice... and a natural part..." Umm, Teddy, many of us can't!

Teddy: "No one can do a scream like that, so strong scream..."
What scream Teddy, the copy-pasted one? Ok, lol. What a proof.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Been watching this a lot lately....Just spectacular...

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I don't think he won anything that night, so he was out to prove a point. Prince looked pissed.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Teddy sure knows how to stay and look young, lol.

I can tell you for sure that's mimed, Michael Jackson does NOT sound like that. Seriously guys, listen to Monster (true Michael in all his glory) and then watch this video. Michael Jackson sounds nothing like the impostor you see above.

:p ;)
