Michael - The Great Album Debate

Haven't been in here for a long long time, just like to say it's good to see people are still fighting this! It's also good to see that a lot more people have converted. There isn't really much more to be said on this matter though on my part, everything there is to say has pretty much been said a year ago...so i'm definitely guessing it has all been said by now.

Why on earth has "Michael" got so many positive reviews on Amazon?

I seriously do not understand this. Will Michael Jackson fans praise anything with his name on it? Does it not matter to these people that Michael has been betrayed by people who were supposed to be his friends (Cascios, Teddy Riley) and trusted associates (Branca)?

In the early 2000s, Ozzy Osbourne re-released two of his classic early 80s albums, and to avoid having to pay his old band for their contributions, he got session musicians to re-record the backing music. The fans were outaged and if you look on Amazon.com, out of the 230 reviews on the site, an overwhelming 145 fans have protested against this by giving the album one star out of five. See for yourself: http://www.amazon.com/Blizzard-Ozz-O...DateDescending

Those are fans who CARE about integrity and authenticity. Why don't MJ fans care about this? Do they not realise that the only way the estate will listen is if the fans stand against what they have done?

FANS WHO CARE ABOUT THE FUTURE OF MICHAEL'S UNRELEASED MATERIAL SHOULD LET THEIR VOICES BE HEARD ON AMAZON.COM.

There are only 21 one star reviews for Michael on Amazon (one of them is me) and a shocking 135 five star reviews. Leave your one star review HERE: http://www.amazon.com/Michael-Jacks...?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&filterBy=addOneStar

At least also 2-star and 3-star reviews mention the 3 fake songs.
It depends on how you listen to your album. Since I hardly ever listen on a usual CD deck but rather uncompressed via PC, I simply deactivate the fakes and like the album. So I'd give 3-stars in terms of quality (how could you rate an album containing Best of Joy only 1 star ? ;)). 1 star for the general fraud though, of course.

In my opinion most 5-star reviewers probably are ... I don't want to insult deaf people.

Your acting like Tommy Mottola right now trying to bring MJ down.

Now your calling MJ fans deaf ?

Oh doubters, doubters.

Your acting like Tommy Mottola right now trying to bring MJ down.

He's not trying to bring Mj down. This isn't a Michael Jackson album and he would be disgusted with what they did with it. On the contrary we are trying to support Michael and allow him the respect he deserves. Something which the Michael album failed to do. If fans praise everything that has his name on it just for the sake of it then we will end up with even worse projects. And stop labelling all the doubters together. And i think it's a little bit childish that just two minutes ago you tweeted the following:

Everyone please go to Amazon and give Michael Jackson's "Michael" album a 5 stars review A.S.A.P. http://www.amazon.com/Michael-Jackson/dp/B00192IV9U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1324316941&sr=8-1 http://pic.twitter.com/VD1K9DKP

That depends, why do you have to accuse doubters of being just like Tommy Mottola? Tsk tsk tsk...

First of all it is a Michael Jackson album and how would you know if he be "disgusted" or not ?

And yes I support this album 100% and I don't want to see it go down by some people that are trying to pull a Mottola on it.

Kinda scary that you stalk me.

Update: Some lyrics that would go well for this
Monster
(why you stalking me)
He's a monster
(why you haunting me)
He's an animal
(why'd you do it, why'd you, why you stalking me)

I didn't accuse doubters of acting like Tommy Mottola I said "Your acting like Tommy Mottola right now trying to bring MJ down." to the guy or girl that wants us to give negative reviews on MJ's album.

It isn't a Michael Jackson album in the true sense as Michael was not here to approve or produce it. I can be pretty sure that he would be disgusted at the actions of Eddie Cascio and the way the fans have been exploited. The album has already gone down. It isn't in the charts any more. By all means support it, but realise that a considerable proportion of the fan base don't because they believe three of the songs are fake. With good reason. That doesn't mean they are against Michael. Quite the opposite in fact. It means they care and won't just blindly buy anything put out. And Matty wasn't trying to put Michael down by giving his album negative reviews, he was trying to protect Michael's legacy. And receiving tweets is not stalking.

Oh yeah I forgot to protect someones legacy you have to give negative feed back to their work and say that it is not him singing when the people that say it's not him cannot prove what they say is true.

So you're saying that we're NOT acting like Tommy Mottola by quoting yourself saying that we ARE acting like Tommy Mottola...?

...Believers...

Care to prove the songs are real then?
Care to prove the songs are fake then?

Professionals have tested the songs and said it's him, producers that worked with Michael for 20+ years have said it's him, MJ's estate have said it's him, The people that were in the studio with him have said it's him, Epic Records have said it's him, Sony has said it's him (They are not stupid to release 3 fake songs and get sued for fraud).

Can I prove it's him ?
I do not know how to do wave testing but I trust the people envolved with this project and the people that actually worked with him during his life time.

You should read it again.

Update: I said "Your acting like Tommy Mottola right now trying to bring MJ down." to the person telling us to give MJ negative reviews for the songs that MJ worked his a** off making for us.

"Your" does not mean "Doubters" it means him or her not you @Jesta.

My 2 cents on the matter

1) It was the first posthumous album of MJ and "his" album after many years. So there was a lot of emotion envolved, people trying to make other people buy it in order to "keep" MJ's legacy alive and try to make him number one again. (By the way, i was one of those who supported the last one, before owning the album and giving a good listening to it)

2) There are people who would buy anything by their idol no matter how bad that is. That applies to the fans of all artists, not only MJ's.

3) Fans of MJ, as we know very well, are very protective over MJ and his work. There were and are so many critics and public out there who trushed and still do everything MJ that lots of fans instictive reaction is to praise or support something that concerns Mike, even if that is not very good. Like i said is like an automatic reaction. They do it because they know that there will be a lot of people who will try to bring down MJ.

I'm sure there are other reasons, those are the one i could think.

And round and round in circles we go. As many, if not more, people who also worked with Michael said they are fake. Of course Sony and the Estate are going to say it's him. You really think they are going to admit they got screwed over? What professionals? What tests? Are you really putting so much blind faith in the Estate's statement? Are you seriously suggesting that wave testing can prove the songs are Michael?

What's your opinion on the Cascio songs? Not sure if you've already said or not.

I believe his estate and yes we go around in a circle since no one can prove anything they say.

All I wish that doubters would do is accept that their claim that it is not MJ is an opinion not a proven fact, it seems some people have made themselves believe that it is not him without proof.

So these songs - with vocals that needed Melodyne and extra words from previous songs to be completed - were so favoured by MJ that he "worked his ass off" on them? So these songs were so loved by him to the point where it is an offence to critique them? These songs are as lyrically and instrumentally profound as the other songs he has made in the past to the point where any distaste of them is offensive to you? The thought that these enigmatic songs are even POSSIBLY fake offends you? Face it, sometimes people do bad things. Eddie's erratic behaviour as of late (notably turning down Joe Vogel's offer of an interview) hasn't redeemed him.

Forensic scientists make their living on it like the ones the CIA hired to make sure Osama BinLaden was the man they were watching for over a month, so my answer is yes.

Unfortunatelly, i believe that they are not MJ. I tried to hard to believe that it was him in the beggining. I remember listening to Breaking News and trying to convince myself that it was MJ. But the more i listened to it, the more something did felt right for me. I will believe that is MJ singing in them,if someone shows us actual proofs. Until then, i will believe what i believe now. That is not Michael Jackson the person who is singing in those Cascio songs.

Do you always have to respond like a child ?

Wait, so me having a little fun is acting like a child? And you think that we should respect the 'Michael' album. With everything surrounding it, no way in hell should we let the people behind this get away with it. And no, not getting away with putting 'Michael Jackson' on 'his' album.

According to Eddie's brother Frank (Which worked with MJ for many years) MJ was prepping these songs for a future release while he was on tour.

Wait, Michael's friend who would never betray him at all, and your calling him erratic? Some people.

And yet he didn't include the songs on his notes for release? They haven't provided any kind of proof that he was involved, unlike Barry Gibb who was happy to share the studio experience with the fans?

And just because they worked with MJ as an assistant doesn't mean he holds musical credibility. People betrayed MJ in the past and no doubt it'll continue to happen into the future. THAT IS A FACT.
