Michael - The Great Album Debate

I agree with them, though, Michael IS a genius for writing such simple melody that people enjoy and sing all around the word.

And I said I heard TINY ELEMENTS of N*Sync in Michael's music, maybe just a few lines in all of his music I've ever listened to. With Michael saying over and over that he has respect for Justin Timberlake, I don't find it unlikely he'd have one or two lines in his music that sound somewhat Timberlake-ish, just like I don't think it's unlikely that Justin's music would sound very very Michael-ish given that MJ is one of his largest influences.

The issue is it takes INCREDIBLE skill to write something 'simpe' but also brilliant. Earth Song is 'simple' to sing but almost impossible to write. Just listen to the joke that is 'Keep Your Head Up'. That's a complete amateur trying to mimic a Michael Jackson anthem. Trying to write a 'simple' song but writing a simple song. Shows the difference between actual talent and complete fraudsters.

As for the 'one line' thing you're now claiming, don't waste your time. Everyone can read your previous comments - 'Michael might have been going in a boyband direction' etc.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

I practically despise boyband music and I have always enjoyed Keep Your Head Up, for the most part. My only complaint with that song is the obvious vocal issue and Tricky's production.

and sam, when I first said my statement I was only thinking of ONE line. But when I said, 'maybe that's the direction he was going'... I was talking about how maybe was thinking about OTHER artists when he wrote these songs, like he could sell these songs to other people. I thought maybe he was going in that direction, not a 'boyband direction'

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

The snippet is garbage, though, why don't you mention that?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

Why should I mention that? If I got a very small snippet of an unleaked real MJ song with some stuff added, I'd still be happy.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

I guess, so you're saying the "Marching like a soldier" is the only real part of the song or what? I thought it was all faked.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

Marching like a Soldier Boy is from the song but there are more. Can't you really tell what's "MJ's" voice now?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

Ha, Marching like a soldier sounds over processed and plays for two seconds in that clip. Like Quincy said, "How can you tell?"

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

Nothing sounds changed on the "marchin like a soldier" other than it slowing down at the end.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

Doesn't matter? Read what I said.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

My point is that you couldn't tell it was "Michael Jackson" in the song.

"People say that you're blind", this is suppose to be MJ. You thought it was all faked.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

That's supposed to be MJ? Well, I have had that part stuck in my head since I heard the clip, maybe that says something.

What 'vocal issue'? It's Michael Jackson as far as you're concerned, isn't it?

I was talking about how maybe was thinking about OTHER artists when he wrote these songs, like he could sell these songs to other people. Which makes absolutely ZERO sense when you then claim that some of his OWN material sounds like boyband stuff.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

"I thought it was all faked," you said.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

"Marching like a Bastard"
"Marching like Malachi"

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

Okay Sam. :)

The vocal issue is the obvious vibrato problems that throw off the entire song for me. Even Malachi can get through a song without ruining it like many parts of these songs. And they'd be able to perfect Malachi's vocals a lot more in studio if they were faking these tracks.

What I said makes absolute sense, as he wrote music for 3T and wrote a song for Hansen?

@Pentum: I was told that the clip was entirely faked, but I was still very confused as I listen to Tell It Like It Is and don't hear some of the parts.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

If you've seen Jason live, you can hear him do the goat vibrato. Is it so hard to understand that many people can do this? Michael could also do it but it would sound different.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

Since this thread isn't moderated any longer I only see fans fighting aginst each other. Horrible.

How many times has the f-word used since? We're all adults I think. Then please behave in an appropriate way.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

I am still confused about this issue, Pentum. I have never said I am 100% confident about anything. Yes, I have watched every live Jason Malachi video you and the rest have posted. He has sounded basically awful in all of them.

.

It makes absolutely ZERO sense. He wrote music for Bart Simpson, too, I haven't heard him release music that sounds like Bart's. Even Bart would be too articulate to sing 'killing up the life in the birds and the trees'.

Maybe he had Barney Gumble in mind.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

I also notice that the issue with the Cascio songs is again whether MJ would lay down vocals for some mainstream pop songs or not. Some fans want to put Michael Jackson on an unreachable pedestal as a God-like figure. This doesn't work.

Michael was a human being like us with all the flaws that we have, too. Why do you think he liked the text of "Hold My Hand" so much and recorded it with Akon? Or do you want to tell me "Hold My Hand" is an epic Michael Jackson master piece?

Not every song from Michael Jackson is a masterpiece. It seems like the weak tracks from INVINCIBLE many fans complained about 10 years ago are now all considered to be master pieces.

And in the end people have different opinions. There are many people that hate most of Michael's ballads. Do we have the right to call them "non-fans"? Because they find these songs lousy?

Think about it just once. You cannot force other people to think what you think yourself. Everyone of us thinks different. There's no need to fight against other fans. Please don't be so aggressive towards other fans that think different.

Hold My Hand was never released by Michael Jackson. So don't hold it up as an endorsed Michael Jackson product. Because it isn't.

Besides, it's infinitely better than ANY of the bullshit Cascio songs.

Keep downplaying his catalogue all you want, the Cascio songs won't sound any better.

POTATO !!!.

I heard the new snipped and it´s Jason.

No matter what, you can´t fool me AGAINNNN !!!

No matter what, they just did it againnnn !!!

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

@samhabib: It IS endorsed. It was released as the first single because Michael left a hand-written note to use it for his next project. Now you're dodging again.

I'm not downplaying his catalogue all I want. You're disagreeing with me and you're very aggressive towards other people. You cannot accept another opinion. Why is that? Are you afraid of something? Are you the official spokeperson for what is a good song of Michael and what is not or what shall be fake because it sounds so to you and you don't know more about it?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

Pentum, did you have the new "Potato" snipped?.

He must have done something really special to endorse it considering it was completed after he died. But you know better, I guess.

It's funny how people take such offence to what I say isn't it? There's absolutely nothing aggresive about anything I've said. You sound completely paranoid. Like you're worried by my complete conviction that these songs are bogus. Like 'who are you to be so convinced?!?'.

I have my opinion. You have yours. Don't pretend the situation is anything other than that. If you're not convinced by your own opinion, that's something for you to consider.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Conspiracy)

In the near future when the obsession with Jason Malachi will have come to an end fans that hated the songs because they were laughing about the processed voice and joking about it being Jason, I wonder how they will feel about what they did...

The version that was released is almost the same one that was leaked. Maybe you just compare them. Akon just added some ad-libs and took some different takes of MJ's vocals. That's all. The song was FINISHED in 2007.

How come you don't know this? Don't care, eh?

And you're complaining about peoples attitudes on here? Eh?

Hold My Hand isn't an endorsed Michael Jackson record. Just like Slave To The Rhythm, in all it's magnificence, isn't an endorsed Michael Jackson record. Regardless of how good it is.

It's very easy to understand. He didn't release it in his own right - it's not officially endorsed by him. Very simple.
