Michael - The Great Album Debate

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Sheesh, at least when I did it I made it believable

What are you confessing to, here? Those emails that you posted?

What happened to the guy who saw the video footage of Michael recording these songs with the Cascios? Where did he go?

I don't know, maybe he was abducted by $ony?

And I confessed days ago, I think you're a bit late realizing that

I know it's off topic but, Worldwide, do you have any idea where the footage of Jason doing a tribute at Rock And Roll Hall of Fame singing his own songs and MJ songs have gone? It was uploaded on several sites, but I can't find it anymore!

No footage but a few of the pictures. I think JM made sure those videos went off, don't know the reason for that.

I was probably doing something more interesting like flossing my teeth.

So let me get this straight. You confessed to forging Jason Malachi's email, took screen grabs and then posted those screengrabs on here to 'prove' that the Cascio songs are real because Jason didn't receive any emails about them? Even though you were talking about a fake Jason Malachi email account that you, yourself, had set up?

Man... Michael Jackson's legacy really needs fans like that...

You're actually saying that you actively lied to fellow fans to somehow prove that the unrecognisable vocals on the album are, in fact, Michael Jackson? I mean... really???

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I don't think he's the full bob at all. Not making sense seems to be a recurring theme in his life

God there are some really great posts on this forum! :lmao:

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

With Breaking News, Keep Your Head Up and Monster this is the first time that i have ever questioned if MJ's vocals were really his or not in a song. I'm aware that Michael can make his voice sound different in different songs but i could still tell it was him. Like Hollywood Tonight is a tad different to what he would normally do but i can tell it's him singing, but i just can't hear him in those three songs.

The only way to convince me (And probably every doubter on here) is to release the original demo versions of these songs before they were messed around with in the studio and/or release footage of MJ actually recording these songs in the studio.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

This is off-topic, but the reason I love "Monster" so much is because it perfectly sums up the people I have to work with. They're constantly mocking and taunting me, even through the internet by calling me a "perverted paedophile" and then proceeding to call MJ that. People even "liked" those comments! All because I wore a hat in a photo...

are they 'stalking' you, too?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

What people need to remember is that first thought when they clicked on michaeljackson.com back in November excitedly waiting to hear Breaking News.

When the vocal kicked in - what was your first thought?

Before there was any modicum of an idea that the new album could possibly have fake vocals on them so you weren't listening out for them it was just your ears & instinct.

My first thought was 'This is not Michael Jackson singing'.

I then told myself I was being stupid, then I came on MJJC and saw I wasn't the only one. Everytime I've played the record since I've thought the same, 'This Is Not Michael Jackson singing'.

I listened to the 'Michael' album before knowing which of the tracks were the Cascio ones, and again on 'Monster' once the 'Too bad...Hollywood' section kicked in, I knew it was not Michael Jackson singing.

Being perfectly honest, and just so you know I'm not being blinded by all this, I would quite happily believe KYHU is him, but the song isn't very good so I don't listen much.

The point I'm making is that despite all the reasons why the tracks may sound different (PVC pipe, out of practise, recorded in the bathroom, The Sopranos was on in the background etc) the vocals were so unrecognisible that as soon as I and many others heard them alarm bells rang - and they haven't stopped ringing.

Jesus christ, you don't get no message through do you? facepalm 100000x times. You do not make any sense at all, and you have no idea what happened or what is going on.

My first thought to Breaking News was : What the hell is this? I tried to convince myself that it was probably a rough demo but I stop listening to it. Then it came Monster... "too bad oh Hollywood it's got you jumping like you shouuullllddddd" and it made things even worse. At first i tried to tell myself that maybe i wasn't hearing right, that Mike's voice was overly produced, that had changed because of age and this kind of stuff. I was basically trying to make excuses to myself so i could enjoy the songs without feel uncomfortable for not recognizing MJ voice in the largest part. I somehow managed to convince myself and I was even strongly supporting the three songs.I was thinking that if this album could help in reviving and keep MJ’s legacy alive, keep him relevant and turn people interest in his music again, then it didn’t matter that those three songs were so… not him (at least in the largest amount)???

Then it came the lack of promotion by Sony. This was the FIRT posthumous album of Mike’s and this was their reaction? Not promoting it at all? Hell, I remember when This is it came out the promotion was so huge even in my country where Michael is not popular at all. I wonder, if there is going to be a second album, what are they going to do? Send some notification in all the MJ boards and that’s it? Anyway. The lack of promotion for me was a sign that indeed there was something off with the songs. Maybe they hadn’t calculated the reaction of the fans and when they saw it, they decided to keep the whole project law so the reaction would not spread and they would not loose the earnings that they had already made? Maybe I am being paranoid here but the whole situation is kinda weird.

So, to this day I still have difficult time with those three songs. I don’t want to blame the Cascios because, like I have already said, they were there for Mike during the trial (especially Frank.) But there is obviously something not right with those three tracks. I have personally stop listening to them. Until some proof comes that it’s indeed Michael in them, I am not listening to them because I don’t consider them MJ songs. So please someone GIVE US SOME PROOF !!!

I have to admit my first thought was "This doesn't sound like MJ."
But I saw the "fake" talk before I heard Breaking News. I got home from a trip away and I went to MJJC before going to MJ.com, so I saw everyone's reactions...

I have had exactly the same opinion.

I was so much eager to hear Breaking News. I liked the snippet I heard.
Then came the day-d! The hype was at its peak!
While listening to the song I was for the first time in my life in an awful doubt! I said to myself that the voice wasn't Michael's.

Anyway, as it was an official release by SONY, i actuallt tried to convince myself that it was Michael. And even though in my heart I wasn't at ease I was willing to believe that it was Michael.

But, when my wife later on came from work and listened to it, she looked at me unconvinced and said to me: "is this Michael Jackson, do you really think so?" I answered: "Yes, it's him. I know he sounds different, but it's him."

Then afterwards I relistened again and again, and every time I listened to it, every time I had to admit that actually I just couldn't recognize Michael. It didn't have the same spark as when I listened for the first time to "Shout" on the maxi cd or STTR leaked on Internet. My ears were telling me it is not him that I hear on BN, but my reason was telling me "it comes from SONY, it's official".

Anyway, I was really trying hard to believe that it was Michael despite what my ears were telling me. I didn't want to have any prjudice against the Cascios, so I waited to hear another track from them. It was "Monster". Instantly, without a slightest doubt, in a heartbeat I immediately was disgusted by what I heard. I am not talking about the melody. The melody is cool and fine. But the voice!!!!! The voice was so 1000000% not Michael that it confirmed my doubts about Breaking News.

Now, accepting that one track sounds differently because Michael supposedly wanted to experience new sounds and settings, I can without any problem accept that. But two completely different kinds of songs with the same unMichael voice? No way! And wafter that I have to buy that KYHU is Michael singing with such lyrics as "she's working in a restaurant"???? NO WAY!

Michael's legacy is in jeopardy.

The songs that I really appreciate are:

Hollywood Tonight
Behind the Mask
Another Day
Much too soon

I pray that you recover soon from your insanity.

Well the platform's all yours... what are you confessing to? Pretending to have access to Jason Malachi's 'hotmail' account? Why would you do that?

Tell us... we'd all love to know why you thought that was a good idea???

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

My reaction?

I woke up early, early in the morning, there was NO WAY I was gonna miss the BN premiere! I was so excited the day before, so I woke up, I checked my phone. It was John (Upside) with a message saying "Get on MSN :/". I still had no thoughts about it being something else, I was still pumped! I got on MSN, saw John's MSN message saying again ":/". I thought what the hell he was so sad about, (still, no thoughts struck me about the song being "different".

I was so ready! --> MJ.com --> PLAY.

I'm sitting there freezing my ass of, but why care? My headphones are on, intro kicks in, 1,2,3, "EVERYBODY'S WAN"- "WHAT THE ****!?!?!?" was my reaction, seriously. I then screamed "JASON!!!!!", told John about it, he already knew it was Jason too, went on MJJC to see what the hell was going on. I'd say about 95% of the members said it was NOT MJ. What a horrible day, a day I will never forget.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Isn't it that he admitted hacking malachi's email account and that's it?

That's not what he's saying today. "At least when I did it it was believable". If you hacked someone's email it wouldn't be 'believable'. It would be the real thing. So i'd like to know why he'd purposefully pretend to hack Malachi's email and try to pretend that he had some sort of information if it wasn't true.

Why would a Michael Jackson fan do that to other Michael Jackson fans??? And to Michael Jackson's legacy???

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

But he did hack it, that's how he got all the unleaked JM stuff + screenshots? Even told me how. So what's up, WW?

Oh yeah, tell me about it, within the first line, it was just no, just no. I was instantly suspicious of the vocals, then they just stayed nothing like Michael Jackson. When the chorus hit, i thought well the song is terrible as well as the vocals. Michael Jackson has finished songs everywhere, and loads of demos. What madness cause them to put these three tracks on.

Not madness. Desperation and business. Michael wanted to get away from SONY.
SONY kept the copyright to his previous albums. On the other hand, Michael firmly refused to leave a single (new) unreleased song to SONY.

That explains why SONY does not possess Michael Jackson's unreleased songs. There must be hundreds!

So, SONY is desperate to make money out of anything they can from Michael with the ultimate goal to acquire the whole catalogue (not only the Beatles one, but Michael's one -with hundreds of unreleased stuff). And that would be a jackpot for them!

That explains why they bought over MJ's dead body the unreleased songs (even if they might have been faked).

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

^^Who has the genuine Michael Jackson's unreleased songs now?

But they did this in partnership with the estate, so if they don't have them either, who does?

That's why I'm confused. There was rumor that Sony doesn't have that many releasable materials. But then, Sony has the rights to distribute Michael Jackson's songs until 2017. So, who really has the complete unreleased Michael Jackson soogs now?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I assume that Estate has Michael's complete catalogue, including the unreleased songs.

What is the Estate going to do with the real genius?

Gosh... it's a shame that songs like Breaking News is released and the real deal is collecting dust.

SONY's aim is to get it. Don't be surprised if Branca sells it.
