Michael - The Great Album Debate

I honestly think if Michael had done the Cascio songs and they'd been reworked a little bit, with his touch, they would be good MJ songs. I can't help myself but dance a little bit to Monster and Breaking News, even when Alex does them, however I can't help but feel ill about the deception which really sucks. I just enjoy the harmonies and stuff sometimes. But I will never like "Everybody wantin' a piece of Michael Jackson, reporters stalkin' the moves of Michael Jackson". Those are some of the worst lyrics ever...

I agree; musically the Cascios aren't ALL bad. Breaking News is a well-produced new jack swing inspired jam, and I feel some regret admitting that I adore Stay and listen to it regularly. (They're listed as Jason Malachi tracks on my iTunes playlist though.)

But that still begs the question: WOULD Michael have recorded these songs in London? It's no question that a majority of the fan base think that they're awful songs, but just because we don't like them doesn't mean Michael wouldn't/didn't. (Keep in mind that he willingly and knowingly released Privacy, a song most people hate but I love.) If anything I would love to hear Michael sing Stay; I can imagine him bringing such soul and power to that song.

Didn't MJ say a few times in This Is It that he didn't want to sing in the rehearsals because he was taking care of his voice?
I wonder if he would record anything during his concerts then. I don't know if he did that before ...

Thing is, those versions are not how they really sounded, the music on Breaking News and Stay was redone by Teddy Riley and Tricky Stewart respectively.

I've no doubt Michael told Eddie that he would record the songs in London, which would explain why Angelo Montrone was prepping the tracks (minus Mj vocals of course) just before Michael died. When it came to it, I doubt he ever would and if he did then I highly doubt they would have made any future release.

I know of that, I've heard the 'work in progress' snippets :p But I prefer the album versions/release candidate versions to the original recordings. (Except for Stay... the original mix is pretty damn good.)

3 Jason Malachi covers, Could this be the world first Malachi impersonator? he did about as much justice to Jason as Jason did to MJ, but well done Alex :)
lol no, there was another european guy who impersonated Jason. He was "Metis77" or something and he did brief snippets of I Can Make It and You Are My Life in 2009. After some Cascio tracks leaked, he also did Stay. He had a very similar goat vibrato to Jason but he had an accent.

And also Matthew Najar did some impersonations of Jason and claimed to have sang in Jason's songs. Pretty close to Jason in the beginning but other than it is quite different. He also faked a few videos such as miming to a pitch-altered Breaking News acapella. For his own songs though, he sings with a higher voice and quite different.

Anyways,
All the news today, they say we're crazayyyy...
(celebertayyy)

The original Stay sounds interesting, I think there's some audience noise near the end.

If Water and the other tracks were released they would probably sound very different. All I Need demo sounds like Imagine and has this unplugged feel while the Burt Bacharach production has a choir and drums.

i Love 'Privacy', and that's Michael's own baby. And it can't be determined that a lot of people hated it, because it didn't hamper Invincible's massive sales, despite no help on promotion, from Sony. There are a lot of people that are missed in the count, of people liking or disliking a song, and unlike the Cascio stuff, Invincible is a proven and durable big time multi platinum winning album.

Be careful on the sunglasses one.

30,000 posts, and we've gotten nowhere yet.

I think you are wrong.

Maybe this thread it´s not in the main section, like it should, but it helped many fans to know what´s happening with MJ music legacy.

This thread helped many fans to know who sung on those tracks from Eddie Cascio & Porte and i believe this post it´s the best example of how MJ fans love Michael Jackson and fight for the only one TRUTH (*).

(*) Jason Malachi sung on all the Cascio´s tracks.

And all my pictures with animals; like monkeys etc, were extremely helpful to understand the very nature that had driven those to fabricate the songs :D

honest question - did you really expect to get anywhere on a thread?

Well, to be honest, alot of the information people have gone and found and provided in this thread has helped alot. Information which has led to some of us going deeper into this situation. But sadly there will be no need for a debate thread in the coming months, you'll have your answer.

This thread is a part of a huge network and people who are interested in this subject know how to find it. News is shared rapidly on Facebook, Twitter and other forums.

So it's not just this thread. It's all over the internet, like I said, a network.

When the right person reads the right thing, you never know what can happen.

Expect it: No

Hope for it: Yes

Let's not forget that this thread is this long because the believers are in total denial. (No offense, just joking :) Love you all :) )
