Unfortunately, I have been to many funerals and repasts in my life and pictures are taken. People rarely take those photos without smiling.
Repasts can sometimes be a a less tense atmosphere and you often spend time sharing happy memories about your loved one and also rekindle friendships with those in attendance that you haven't seen for awhile. In my opinion, it has nothing to do with the internal grief that you struggle with during that time and over the course of the years.
