Hmm... yeah that's a fair outburst. I find it hard to believe that he really thinks any of those things though. Would he really have joined the group and have been here for nine months, generally playing along and playing nicely with everyone, only to actually harbour those thoughts? I kinda don't think so. I think he was feeling some kind of way about the reception he was getting so he tried to trigger some people on his way out.
And yeah, deserves blocking for those statements but I think things only went there because debate was generally being shouted down. But once a line is crossed, it's crossed.
Well I honestly just think the man was 'having a moment' grappling with just what to think about everything, and rather than I guess accepting that some people are going to have that process with this thing, a lot of people just told him he is wrong and then accused him of not being a fan. People have a right to question these things. Sure, people don't have to sit there and agree but when you start questioning whether they're a fan when they know they've spent their life following him, it can actually be quite irritating. I do sometimes question these things myself but I always come back around to just how flawed every argument against him is. Buffalo was probably going to do the same thing. I think it is totally okay to say as a Michael Jackson fan that you are uneasy with his behaviour with kids without being ostracized, because you know what, most people ARE uncomfortable with the finer details of Michael's special friendships with kids. They are not the 'done thing' in our society. As fans we give him the benefit of the doubt given his upbringing, lifestyle and the complete lack of reliable evidence and his being exonerated but I'd be lying if I said that the whole situation didn't make me cringe deeply.
This is not debate, this is trolling/baiting/agitating.
He constantly was baiting and repeating stuff how MJ had an obsession with children how he shared intimate moments with kids, how kids looked in love with him in photos etc. After a few days I concluded the member was deliberately creating drama and repeating himself over and over again just to piss people off.
I am all for open debate but when threats are used, the same dude saying Elvis is better and prettier than MJ etc. Its a tough time for all of us, we dont need obvious trolls that spend days riling up other board members. He ignored every answer and just kept on throwing one liners that could be taken directly from a hater site.
I have never called for anyone to be banned or suspended before, but I did this time.
This forum has been great through the years and also I think its great people can freely debate as long as its civil and constructive debate and not serious trolling.
He was not shouted down, he got exactly what he deserved, it was Buffalo that took things to the next level of insults etc with his baiting, and then we/some posters responded in the same manner and the he flipped completely. Nobody else changed tune like that and started threatening people and going ballistic. If a person becomes nasty like that over some arguments, then thats a major red flag.
I support the banning of him 100% and I also want open debate to be encouraged and protected, but Buffalo crossed all kind of boundaries and barely contributed anything to debate but throwing the same one liners. Like from the blue declaring
"Well, being called a child molester is not very good, right"
If he had been allowed to keep harassing other board members we would have risked losing other long time members from this board also.
