Michael Jackson Life of A Legend is Number One

Absolute comedy. Keep up the good work Sam. You know we're proud of you. You guys did a great job. To me it seems that Got To Be There has a book coming out himself and isn´t to happy with the competition.

For all the others who have something bad to say about Sam and his fan-dom...please grow up. Like Mike said: " do not judge a man until you've walked 2 moons in his moccosins "

samhabib, when will the reprinted books be out? I want to get a copy, but without the mistakes :)
and kudos by the way for even writing a book anyway :clapping:

Whenever stores restock I think. So it could be already available.

For the record, I didn't write the book but did worked on it :)

If you don't like the book, then DON'T BUY IT, simple as that. As for me I have brought the book and I really do like it. I like the fact it goes through Michaels story and then at the end it goes back to how great a performer he was. Love the concert pics! Thank you for a great book!

Maybe an amazon review would have been the best way to let people know what i think of the book but it was only when i seen that a poster here had proof read it that i thought i should leave my opinion which is what i done. I did set up another thread but this disappeared out of the general discussion forum and then another which also disappeared out of the discussion forum. It seems it was okay to have a thread thanking everyone for buying the book but not one telling people why not to buy it. I have stated my opinion which i am entitled to have seen as i paid for the book and all of my reasons for not liking it are valid to me and every quote is direct from the book.
If fans read these quotes and still want to buy the book well fair play to them but i feel samhabib has a problem with me even bring them to light.

Begging fans to 'please please please don't buy this book' is not an opinion. Personally attacking me is not an opinion. Personally attacking other fans that bought the book is not an opinion.

and every quote is direct from the book.

Every quote you posted was either, A., completely devoid of context or ,B., completely misunderstood by yourself due to a lack of comprehension skills or, C., completely misquoted. TO claim that the book refers to the Invincible album as a failure is a blatant lie, for example. But because you couldn't work out (and failed to type in your 'quote') that the word failure had apostrophes around it, suggesting that it in fact WASN'T a failure, you weren't able to understand what the paragraph ACTUALLY meant.

Don't blame the book for that. Blame your lack of comprehension.

I find it annoying the direction this thread went after the first few pages. If you find fault with the book (which you shouldn't) don't bash someone who didn't completely 100% write the information. Just don't buy the book. You are obviously in a minority if you dislike the book anyway, because it has been top of the Bestsellers list!

And from that, the point of the thread is to congratulate everyone who took part in the book and helped it achieve its current status. Not 'nitpick and whinge to someone about how bad it was'. MJJC helped with the book in a way so you should be ashamed of being a member of the site if you feel that way!

Again this is just my opinion. The book sounds great and next time I see it I will buy it! Please stop trying to find little faults, Samhabib isn't even the person to complain to anyway!

Hello all,

Our book, Michael Jackson: Life of a Legend will be Number One in this weekends Sunday Times bestsellers list!!!

I worked on this book with the input of many fans, some members of this forum. Very very proud. I hope we've done Michael proud!

Wow well done. I didn't know this was done by fans. Someone bought it for me for my birthday. I'd had a flick through and thought it looked very good. I was a bit scared before I opened it.

ACE!!!!:clapping::clapping::clapping::clapping:

I did not personally attack you nor did i personally attack any other fans, as i do not know you in person i could not possible personally attack you. I did question your proof reading ability and i doubt i am the first to do this as you did get the month of his death wrong. Infact you seem to be trying to call me stupid without actually saying it. Obviously i understand the book and it annoyed me can you not just accept this and accept that i have a right to ask other fans not to buy it.
Kleptomike said that i might have a book on the way and that is why i don't like life of a legend. I can assure you i have never been in any way involved in the publishing industry and if i was i would never see Michael's sudden death as an opportunity to make money.

I found it strange that i was the only fan posting who didn't like the book and that some of my threads disappeared of the discussion forum but then i received this PM which shed a little light on things.

Hi there!

Just wanted to let you know that I agree with your comments about the book 'Life Of A Legend'. There are too many 'digs' at Michael for this book to profess to be 'Pro' MJ. In my view is was rushed out to 'cash in' on Michael's death and was/is advertised as being a book "by the fans, for the fans" to make as much money as possible - but all the time trying to reduce the true impact of MJ's life and work.

Unfortunately you won't see my comments on the main forum as my posts are being moderated (censored!) due to my daring to question something I did not agree with. This has happened to other original MJJC users recently (I have been privately PM'd with support and confirmation of this), and it may happen to you.

I just wanted you to know that you are not alone in what you are saying but, if MJJC don't support your view, you will be made to think you are alone as they delete many posts which support your argument and goes against their's.

If you want to copy and paste my comments into your argument please feel free. It would be best to remove my ID though, as they will no doubt ban me all together for daring to support you!

It is starting to feel like a Fascist State on here at the moment, but don't let them bully you!

i got this too but why is there a pic of a imposter MJ on the back of book top left corner ??

I did not personally attack you nor did i personally attack any other fans, as i do not know you in person i could not possible personally attack you.

You said that I wasn't a 'real fan' of Michael Jackson. You also said that people that buy the book and like it are not 'real fans'. Those are personal attacks.

Obviously i understand the book and it annoyed me can you not just accept this and accept that i have a right to ask other fans not to buy it.

You claimed that the book referred to the Invincible album as a failure. When it didn't but, in fact, did the complete opposite. You can be upset and annoyed with the book as much as you want but you've baseless accused it of being something that it isn't. That's the difference. Which allows me the right to reply.

It is starting to feel like a Fascist State on here at the moment

Absolutely unbelievable. Referring to MJJC - a Michael Jackson fansite - as being on a par with the Third Reich... Absolutely unbelievable.

^ I know! That's the last post I'll make on this thread. If Gottobethere wants to carry on, that's up to him/her. I'm quite frankly bored of the whole thing.

congrats! We need more positive Michael books out there

anything to compete with THAT sham of a book that's out there...

I bought this book for the beatufuil photos when I saw it in the store. I flicked through it a bit and it looked gorgeous and the photos had me melting. I've only just started reading it and some of the things written in it are sickening and not things I would expect to find in a book written by a fan. On the other hand, I do genuinely believe it written with good intent and wasn't designed to reflect upon Michael negatively. I'm kinda torn with it because parts of it are truly lovely and other parts are...:bugeyed I'm glad I bought it because it's part of my Michael collection and the photos are amazing..!

I did not call it a facist state that was a PM i recieved which i explained in my post but i am begining to agree with that poster. It is a bit suprising that once a complaint is made that messages in support of me are being censured one is let through to the thread.

Anyway i too am finished with this and the book is in the bin where it belongs, i hope other fans who feel the same won't add it to there collection just for the pictures and i also hope i have helped the fans who are undecided to make up their mind and if your still unsure have a quick read in shop before you pay for it.
