Michael Jackson feat. 50 cent - MONSTER - its the real deal says 50 -READ!

I'll be honest with you guys, I don't care where the "HA!" comes from!

I don't know what some people expect. Michael is dead, he can't finish what he started, so it's this or nothing.

I'm just shocked that some people seem to want 'nothing' from MJ ever again! The 'haters' in the world, yes, but not his 'fans'.

Really, could you please stop labelling people? Why use the word "haters"?

If the Estate decides not to release any recordings in the vault, I'm totally okay and will still be a MJ fan for life. There is a reason why people have mixed feeling with posthumous release.

Different people think differently. Some people who are excited about this album and are happy with the songs. That's totally fine. Some people feel sad about it and are disappointed with the outputs. That's not wrong neither.

Those adlibs at the end "why you stalkin me, why you hawkin me" don't sound like him at all.

i

I personally don't hear him at all in this song....a few ad libs MAYBE...but for me, that's even stretching it....I let my boyfriend listen to the song last night, and after about 10 secs in, he was like...'that's not him...'......:mello:

I actually understand why your bf said that. When I heard the song streamed from the official website, especially the first verse, I didn't hear the richness that came with Michael's voice. In other words, the voice is "thin".

Sadly I agree.

I would love this song to be Michael. It's a really good song, very catchy, cool production... but it just doesn't sound like his voice. It sounds like someone impersonating him (badly).

I really hope I'm wrong though.

I understand why he said that...Cuz I agree with him...He said, 'that's not him...but it's really hard to tell!'....I mean, for me, it's not hard to tell, but for a casual fan like him, it's different...which could be said for a lot of other casual fans then...If he really thought it was Mike, he'd tell me....But his final thought was, it's not him...:( But you're right...the richness is not there for me either...This staccatto type effect he uses for Monster doesn't sound anything like the other staccatto type songs he's done...SC, TDCAU (?), Tabloid Junkie...among others, i'm sure...I actually like the song, but the anger and pure emotion that we'd hear from Mike isn't in this song....Not for me anyways..

Yep..I'm with you.. the song itself is really good..but I'm not going to kid myself, it really does sound like someone else..All the Cascios songs have that same "style" voice on their songs...I'm not gonna just say it's "fake", but honestly, your right it does sound like someone who is trying to sound like Michael rather than Michael himself. I hope I'm wrong on that as well, I want this album to do well, and I wouldn't mind one bit if it was fully Michael on the Cascio songs as all of them are truly good songs that will be added to his already god like discography..

After hearing the album version which is way different then that early snippet that leaked. It sounds 100% like MJ. He's trying out a new vocal style, we have to remember, Cascio isn't exactly an A List producer MJ usually uses. The sound is different because all the outside factors are different. I personally love this song. Everyone I talk to loves it, even non MJ fans. It'll be a big hit.

The song is actually very good but the more I listen to the verse 50 cent is singing the more I hate it. 50 cent is doing a good job but those soundeffects are horrible! They sound like your CD is broken....

But can't you see where we're coming from? It's not a vocal style issue for me...it's just that it sounds nothing like him...As in, a different person, altogether..I really don't know how else to describe it...I have the album version too, well, what was leaked, and to me, it sounds like another person...it really does...I really love the song though, it's ridiculously great...

The adlibs at the end just sound like an impersonator copying MJ's adlibs on Privacy.

He's trying to do almost the exact same adlibs and yet it sounds like a completely different person singing.

I am baffled that any fan could say "it's 100% him" with such confidence.

I really have a very hard time believing that Michael Jackson is the man singing on Monster. It doesn't sound like him and I am baffled by any fan who can say "it's 100% him" with such confidence.

Totally agree...I don't want to insult anyone who is confident that it's him 100%, but it baffles me as well....I don't know what else to say..I can't listen to that song without thinking...'umm...this isn't him...' :mello:

If I heard this song, not being an MJ fan, and I just randomly heard it out of nowhere, not knowing the name of the song, or the artist, i'd just be like..'oh, awesome song, I wonder who sings it?'...:ninja: To me, that's a problem...

If I was a non-fan or just a casual fan I think I would listen to it and recognise the voice as Michael Jackson.

As a hardcore fan who has listened to every single song he's ever released hundreds of times over, the tone of the voice just doesn't sound authentic to me.

The only Cascio song which sounds like it has Michael's real vocals is KYHU (and there's even parts of that which sound "off" to me, but for the most part, it does sound like MJ).

It's timbre. Each individual's voice is different. It doesn't matter how close they sound. No two people sound the same.

I agree with you. It's not singing style nor singing technique. One might argue that the vibrato in KYHU is sluggish, that's singing technique. But in Monster, the timbre just sounds off. I don't think it has anything to do with the studio equipment or the skills of the producers. Michael's voice is still recognizable in voice message, court depositions and phone calls...

Probably depends on the person as to what they hear...Which is why this is all so subjective and I feel completely helpless when it comes to all of this...

But you're probably right, now that I think of it, maybe I would actually think it's Michael if I was a non-fan...Who knows...

I don't even know what to think of KYHU, but when I listen to that, then say, MTS, i'm like :mello: it's like, two different people to me...I'm not trying to harp on the issue, but I can't help it...

Indeed, on the album it is clearer (at least to my ears).
Vocal styles, Michael has so many... and Michael liked so much to bring something fresh and new. When people say "This isn't Michael's style", how can they say that when Michael is many styles.

Agreed....Again, yes, the vibrato....the vibrato on all three Cascio songs sound forced, and very unnatural to me...And the falsetto that you can hear in Monster at certain times...This has nothing to do with style for me at all....He has indeed used several styles of singing, but you can always tell it's him! Simple as that...

I think we have to take this into account:

Bad recording material
Voice changed since 2001-2003
Different vocal style
Overproduced? (i love monster)
I am fan since 2007 and i can clearly hear him (in my opinion) but you are fan for maybe a lot longer. You are used to his voice and now you can't hear him anymore cause of the things listed above (maybe, i don't know). It's just my theory

But, we are not even talking about singing style.

Anyway, what's so fresh and new about Monster, KYHU and Breaking News? None of these songs is innovative.

Don't get me wrong. I love KYHU a lot. But, I have to say KYHU is not a song only Michael Jackson can do. R. Kelly or Usher can come up with something like KYHU. Actually, if KYHU is released by other artist, I'll still love the song for the lyrics and melody are beautiful.

What do you mean by "voice changed since 2001-2003?" Contrary to what people always said, Michael's voice hasn't changed that much. The voice in This Is It is as Michael Jackson as the voice in Off The Wall.

Actually, Hollywood Tonight is not top rated vocal recording. The "rawness" is obvious, but you can still tell it's Michael Jackson.

Again, it has nothing to do with vocal style.

I do agree with the overproduction part.

That bolded part is so true.

Look at the opening intro of (I Like) The Way You Love Me. The sound quality is very poor, he is recorded on an answer phone message.... and yet it is unmistakeably Michael's voice.

The sound quality of the Cascio recordings is much better quality and yet more than half of his fans don't recognise it as being Michael's voice.

While I respect what you're trying to say, I have to completely disagree...I don't think any of this has anything to do with equipment or anything of the sort...as 'love is magical' stated...we've heard him in court depositions, (the Mexico one, where he had oral surgery, and he sounded congested and a little garbled in the way he was speaking, but he still sounded like Michael Jackson) on phone messages (The Way You Love Me)....we've heard him use a different vocal style on 2000 watts, and even Butterflies, but, I had not a single doubt it was Mike...as his voice is SO unique...

A voice changed? I don't think so....What about Hold My Hand? recorded in 2007? or on TII? Sounds like the same Michael Jackson to me, just a bit of a more matured voice....I've been a fan since 1987, and, yes, I'm used to his voice, but that's what makes me question it, i KNOW his voice like the back of my hand...When I listen to Mike, I listen to him on crystal clear headphones, about 90% of the time....I almost never just listen casually, I can't help but get lost in his voice and notice every little thing and the way he pronounces things...I don't hear the same pronunciation on these Cascio...I hear a different person all together...I've said this before...When I hear Michael Jackson's voice, i FEEL him...and when I feel his voice, i HEAR him....none of this applies with the Cascio songs for me...I have to go with my instinct...It's the only thing to rely on...

Yep well said, I agree...What's troubleing is the fact that the Estate and Sony insist that it is him...They are basically saying "It may not sound like Michael, but it is him" which to me, is a horrible and unprofessional way of doing things. Is using three "Questionable" songs worth it? Is it worth it to put the fans through confusion and all sorts of negative emotions?

Even in the statement by the Estate they said that the Cascio vocals were questioned from the very beginning and even saying "Because of these questions, I was immediately asked by co-Executors John Branca and John McClain to conduct an investigation regarding the authenticity of the lead vocals on the Cascio tracks. " The obviously did much much more investigation for the Cascio songs to make sure it was "authentic", but they should have just stopped it right there and said "These songs will raise too many questions and problems if we put them on, so let's them leave them off."

Couldn't agree more. I'd add more, but you've said it all.

I think for those who believe the songs are all Michael, or want to believe it, we have such a problem believing otherwise because it would be a HUGE elaborate cover-up conspiracy to destroy Michael - a plan that would be implemented by his deepest and closest friends and producers. Why, why would they want to do this to him? You can give all the reasons in the world as to why it's not Michael on the Cascio tracks, but please, do us all a favor and instead of just spitting out allegations, provide us with a reasonable explanation. Why would all these people come together to betray MJ like that? Please do explain. I read "It's not MJ" and "100% FAKE" all the time but I have yet to read an actual motive. Why would Sony shoot themselves in the foot and why would these people Michael trusted want to spit on his grave? Why???

That's why we have a hard time believing that it's not Michael.

Money.

Teddy Riley wants it. John Branca wants it. The Cascio's want it.

Simple.

I'm sorry, but that's not good enough. All these people already have tons of money and it's hard to believe they'd screw over a dear friend who has passed simply in the name of more money. I know MJ sings of people who would do anything for money, but that's why he only got close to those he felt he could trust. Are you saying MJ was stupid? It can't be all about money. I find it odd that y'all find it so easy to believe such a wild conspiracy. It's almost as crazy as the "Elvis is still alive" or even the "Michael is still alive" conspiracies. There's not a logical reason for anyone to use fake songs when they have plenty to choose from (MJ wrote and recorded 100's) from the vaults. Sony wouldn't risk lawsuits by releasing fake music only to lose out on millions upon millions. The conspiracy doesn't add up. It doesn't make sense.
