He's a rapper, I'm sure it was something he just wrote to reference Michael and his overall legacy. I don't think he put much thought into that lyric, nor do I believe he thinks this song is a "2010 Thriller". You're reading into this way too much.

He actually said in an interview that when he was listening to it he thought 'Wow, this is like a 2010 version of Thriller'. A video interview as well.

So no, we arent reading into it too much. Its a stupid lyric.

Honestly, it makes me cringe when I hear it.

People are ALLWAYS referring back to Thriller. A new song couldnt just be its own song, its allways got to be something to do with Thriller.

I agree. I'm so sick of everything to do with Thriller right now. The era, the album everything. I haven't listened to the Thriller album for ages.

It's all Thriller this and Thriller that. No wonder there's such a huge fan backlash againts it
